This review is long over-due. My dog, Bling has been going to the Camp Run A Mutt franchise since…read moreshe was a puppy and has been coming to the Sorrento Valley one for a few years now. The staff is WONDERFUL!! They remember my dogs name, even when she hasn't been in awhile! When I drop my dog off I can look in the viewing window and see how sweet the staff are to my dog and all the doggies. Last time I watched, I saw the staff pick her up, which she loves, give her a little snuggle and then put her in her favorite spot - on the top of the stair structure where she can oversee everything. They love to give scratches, pets and attention to all the dogs, it just shows you how kind, thoughtful and attentive they are. I love that they have the mutt-cams so we can watch all the fun. :) My dog sometimes doesn't want to leave she loves it there so much! We chose this place because we love how they are cage free when boarded overnight and they give you the cutest report card when you pick them up.

We just started our 1 year old mixed breed rescue puppy at Camp Run-a-mutt yesterday. After a short…read moretemperment test, we left her there for 6 hours. They sent home a first day report card which told us about how she did, what dogs she played with. They have cameras in the play yards so you can spy on your dog which of course we did. It was the first time we spent significant time away from her. She had a great time after being a bit shy at first. We decided to send her a second day in a row. Took her early (7:30) so she would be one of the first ones there. She had a great time. She easily interacted with the pack. There are many handlers on duty so that any problems are addressed immediately. Addy had to be "redirected" a few times for over enthusiasm We look forward to taking her back once or twice a week. The pack experience is ideal for a one dog family looking for supervised socialization. And she comes home exhausted

Today our second pup is being spayed, and the team has been texting us updates throughout the day. That communication means so much and has given us such peace of mind. We're so grateful for the wonderful care and genuine compassion they show every time we visit. Also, all the doctors are so knowledgeable, friendly and sweet to the animals. Highly recommend!

This place deserves a steller 5 STAR! Every single time, every vet here is awesome & steller!…read more We had an emergency need today and couldn't believe they were open on a Sunday too when we called (thinking we'd be leaving them a message)! What other vet is open on a Sunday besides an emergency vet?! Love ALL the staff-knowledgeable, professional, kind, caring & nice! The tech before the vet came in, asked really good questions to help understand the issue. Loved that Dr. Greenfield got down on the floor to greet our little boy AND remembered what he treated him last for over 1/2 a year ago. Asking update questions. Both natural help & medical from their vets. Only took seconds for Dr. Greenfield to figure out what caused our little boy Cashew's issue by asking us the perfect questions and info that triggered us to give the issue's answer. He gave us a natural suppliment to help that they had there. Once home, our little boy is regular again and feeling so much better. The BEST vet clinic ever! Seriously! We've had so many bad, thank God we found this place and Dr. Sheila again too!

Will never return here after my dog required veterinary care due to an injury sustained during a…read moreboarding stay at Alcala in April 2024 that was directly caused by their care. When I picked my dog up after five days of boarding, I was shocked to learn that he had been put into solitary confinement an hour after I dropped him off due to "showing aggression with another dog" and he stayed in solitary for the entire five days he was there. When I asked why I wasn't informed of this at all, the employee told me they "didn't have all of the information at the time" which made no sense considering they were the witnesses and decision makers. When I brought him home I noticed a large sore on one of his elbows that he didn't have when I dropped him off at Alcala. His veterinarian told me it was likely caused by laying in the same spot and not moving for hours, a result of Alcala confining him in an area too small for him. He ended up requiring topical medication to treat the wound. My dog had never shown aggression while with me, at any previous boarding facility, nor at daycare sessions at Alcala prior to this boarding. Regardless, even if their accusation was true, the fact they never communicated anything with me and just left my dog to rot in a crate for five days straight was inexcusable.
