Choosing the right daycare for your child is no easy task for a parent. There are a lot of…read moreimportant factors to consider and there is no such thing as a perfect daycare facility. However, I will make this decision easy for you and tell you to look elsewhere and I will tell you why. Initially we choose Creative Kids Daycare because it was close to where we live, small, clean, sunny, with individual classrooms per age group, the workers speak Spanish, my questions were answered to my satisfaction, the three referrals they gave me recommended it and it was also very affordable. Everything went smoothly for the first few months until our son switched classrooms. He went from being in the 18 month classroom to the 2 year old classroom with a different teacher. There are two different teachers in each classroom - a morning teacher and an afternoon teacher. We had problems with the morning teacher named Miss Amy. Our son was in her class for a few weeks when we noticed a diaper rash on his scrotum. Any parent knows that it is not a commonplace area to have a diaper rash. The area appeared chaffed as though he had been wearing the same diaper all day. On top of that, our son was walking unusually, he screamed when we changed his diaper, and cried when I put diaper rash cream on his scrotum. My husband and I felt horrible and I immediately called the Creative Kids Daycare owner named Nadia. She assured me she would speak to his teacher and rectify the problem. Instead, Miss Amy blamed my son for having concentrated urine and less than 2 weeks later, he came home with another diaper rash on his scrotum and flecks of dried feces on his groin and penis. I spoke to both owners of the daycare center given that it is a husband and wife team on multiple occasions and was unsatisfied with how the situation was handled. It was simply disregarded. I was told was that there were cameras in the classroom, that Miss Amy had been working there for 7 years, that we could switch to the 3 year old classroom and gave me their reasons for the cause of the diaper rash: the brand of diapers we were using, my son has concentrated urine, etc. Thankfully, we have since found a facility that changes my son's diapers frequently and keeps a log of when they do so. He hasn't had a diaper rash since! They are also truly responsive with any questions I have of his care and deal with situations with transparency and honesty much unlike this facility. His teachers are educated in child care development, are Naeyc accredited and highly professional. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of this establishment as they cannot even take care of the basic necessities such as changing a child's diaper. If you are looking for reputable day care facility in Lexington I would encourage you to investigate the following three: Children's Development Center of the Bluegrass, Woodland Early Learning Center, Early Childhood Lab. I would stay as far away from this place as you possibly can. Your children are too important.

This is in a church, so some of the lessons for the older children will be Bible-centered. It has been the best place for our daughter. I have had several friends grow up in Adventure Club's afterschool care program, then later work for the afterschool care program to finally send their own children to Adventure Club. If that is not a testament to the program, I don't know what is. Henley goes Tuesday-Friday and lights up when she sees her teachers and friends in her classroom. Her teachers are kind, sweet and always willing to answer any questions or concerns I have. There is one particular toddler that stops by every morning to hug Henley's teacher. (The toddler use to be one of the teacher's babies). I love the small sizes (no more than 8 to a room) and the sense of community when we go. Henley is in cloth diapers; this was one of the few daycares we toured that had prior experience with cloth diaper babies. It has a lock system to get into the building. Each parent has their own keyfob or code system. If someone else is picking up the child, they must ring a doorbell to get into the building, sign a sign in sheet and then show ID. However, my husband has been required to show ID, even though he has a keyfob, a few times picking up Henley because the teachers are not as familiar with his face. The outside of the building is equipped with a security camera system. I feel extremely safe having my daughter here.

Middle school at The Provision has been terrific, we personally value compassionate educators and appreciate the therapeutic approach to learning. We appreciate that our child is not struggling most of his school day. That his schedule and environment are a little more gentle and kind. That he is around adults that meet him where he is and lovingly nudge him towards progress. No students, schools,or teachers are perfect. But if you are pulling your hair out or watching your kid continually struggle, you may find The Provision to be a great fit.

The Prvision School teachers have all been devoted to helping my son and every student achieve their academic goles. The schools atmosphere is amazing the kids are always laughing and happy! Our son has made many friends & loves his school.... especially his teachers. I can not say enough wonderful things about The Provision School they have been a blessing & an answer to our families prayers!
