This is in a church, so some of the lessons for the older children will be Bible-centered. It has been the best place for our daughter. I have had several friends grow up in Adventure Club's afterschool care program, then later work for the afterschool care program to finally send their own children to Adventure Club. If that is not a testament to the program, I don't know what is. Henley goes Tuesday-Friday and lights up when she sees her teachers and friends in her classroom. Her teachers are kind, sweet and always willing to answer any questions or concerns I have. There is one particular toddler that stops by every morning to hug Henley's teacher. (The toddler use to be one of the teacher's babies). I love the small sizes (no more than 8 to a room) and the sense of community when we go. Henley is in cloth diapers; this was one of the few daycares we toured that had prior experience with cloth diaper babies. It has a lock system to get into the building. Each parent has their own keyfob or code system. If someone else is picking up the child, they must ring a doorbell to get into the building, sign a sign in sheet and then show ID. However, my husband has been required to show ID, even though he has a keyfob, a few times picking up Henley because the teachers are not as familiar with his face. The outside of the building is equipped with a security camera system. I feel extremely safe having my daughter here.

It has a min height requirement of 54 inches to ride alone or 48 inches to ride with a companion. I love pirate ship rides and for years Kentucky kingdoms giant one has been my favorite. I can remember riding this ride over and over consecutively as a kid because it was so fun and never had a long wait. Always have to sit on the back row and do what the signs warn you not to do. Which is throw your hands up high and rise to your feet when coming back down from the top. Overall great younger kid friendly ride that I've have a lot of great personal memories for myself and my kids at.

Communication was inconsistent, concerns were not handled professionally, and there were multiple situations where information given to parents did not match what actually happened. The management style felt controlling and dismissive rather than supportive or transparent. I strongly believe the staff deserve better leadership because many of the teachers are clearly trying their best despite the environment they are working in. I would recommend that parents ask detailed questions about management practices and communication policies before enrolling their children.

Not only was it great exercise, but it also provided a very fun and lighthearted theme with the heroes and villains that everyone dressed up as. There was music booming with an emcee, so it was a pretty fun environment as well. I will admit that the event was a lot smaller than I had imagined, but it was still just as great as any of the others. I was very pleased that they offered registration the day before so everyone wasn't cramming to do it right before the race. It was held at Cherokee Park, a great location. Every participant received a finisher's medal and cape, which I thought was nice for the price to register, I believe was $35. It was an awesome experience to be a part of and I hope to do it again next year!

I signed up for this race with my sister. This year the theme was something like Galactic…read moreHeroes...whatever. I didn't plan on dressing up except just in my walking/running clothes. The people leading the warm ups and organizing the race on the day were pretty alright. But I had some issues with this run. I was surprised by these things, since this is at least the second year they did it. First, it seems that all driving and parking rules in the park go out the window...people driving the wrong direction, people driving and parking in the activity lane, people parking where it technically isn't allowed. I get that the Hogan's Fountain Pavilion area is under construction and that took away some valuable parking, but there were plenty of empty spots and lots in and around the park, just not *right at* the race start. Secondly, speaking of roads and driving, if the park is not being closed off to traffic during the duration of the race, it needs to be communicated to the participants that they should stay in the activity lane and OUT of the car lane. Overall, that was less of an issue than when the route went outside of the park on to the streets. Again, the roads weren't closed off, there were no signs alerting drivers to a race, and no lines or barriers to keep the participants confined to a smaller part of the road. It seemed a bit dangerous, especially with so many kids as well as MANY participants opting to make use of the WHOLE width of the road. They also seemed surprised today that there was "another race in the park" and instructed us to follow the correct signs. It wasn't a race, I don't think. It was the weekly KDF Marathon training group. But they had coolers set up with water in some places for their group, but race participants definitely got in on that action too...which I hope was ok. Neither group had anyone monitoring them. Overall the race was fine. A *full* 5k, though untimed, with some useless swag, as well as a pretty spiffy medal. But in all honesty, I don't know if I would sign up for it again. The little fun-run races at the waterfront are better organized and not on open streets. And established run series give me 5k options too. I will probably stick with those.
