But ... service as soon as we arrived was outstanding. Friendly, but professional. We started off with vegetarian spring rolls which were your basic spring rolls - tasty, not greasy at all. Wine list was quite extensive too, which is a bonus! For mains, we shared the BBQ Pork Ribs with Plum Sauce, Satay Beef and Sizzling Chicken with Garlic. My partner's 6 year old ordered what all 6 year olds would probably order ... chicken nuggets and chips. No, not very Chinese, but I guess the restaurant knows what a good kids menu should include! All our main meals were outstanding - and yes, I was surprised! Especially the BBQ Pork Ribs, which could be 'cut' with a spoon (and had hardly any bones). I swear the meal wasn't as good as this last time we visited (which was about a year ago) - I am seriously impressed, and already planning a return visit. The other meals (slow cooked lamb shoulder and Atlantic salmon) were also of a very high standard for the average $26 pricetags. There's also a more basic menu (ie schnitzels) menu for those not wanting the restaurant options. Just one thing that prevented me from giving this place 5 stars ... two tables with screaming kids!! We would have stayed longer (and ordered more) if they weren't there. Now I realise this wasn't the restaurant's fault, but I think the fact that they have to cater to those staying at the hotel as well as offering high-quality restaurant meals has meant that some of their clientele are somewhat lacking in manners (if you know what I mean!). The setting here is lovely, and the staff here are very friendly - I would love to come here again ... possibly a little later to avoid noisy families!

Staff are friendly and the menu is very diverse. In fact, this is one of the few restaurants I know that have an all you can eat bistro special where the food actually tastes good. The restaurant looks quite nice on the evening too as it is all lit up nicely and the bar area looks well decorated. There are many different items on the menu that I like including their spring rolls (which taste really good), mongolian steak and lemon chicken. All of these are my standard Chinese cuisine favourites and this restaurant all does them rather well. Pricing is perfect with a $10.50 price tag fetching you two not-so-modest-sized portion of any of your two favourites from the buffet menu with a serve of rice. There are lots of tasty vegetables that are served with each dish and the rice they serve meals with is well cooked, not too watery like some other Chinese restaurants I have been too. It does get quite crowded and a tad noisy though but with the food quality, price and the bistro configuration, the restaurant does Chinese food with a modern twist. All you can eat is also offered at the restaurant for around $18 a head however I haven't tried the all you can eat (probably a good thing as I would most certainly overeat.)

The restaurant is usually a bit quieter but still gets a decent crowd. I remember when I was younger my sister and I would watch the fishes in the fish pond while we waited for our food. It does get busy as they are very well known in this area but you still don't usually have to wait long. They do have a beautiful restaurant here with dishes they bring out still sizzling on the plates. They also do great banquets if you are having a funtion or celebrating something here. You can get pretty much a bit of everything for a very small price for a proper restaurant meal. For example their 9 course banquet is under $25 per person for 4 or more (but the 8 course banquet can cater for as few as 2 people and has fried ice cream!!!!). The best and most popular part of this place is the takeaway noodle bar. You can get 2 main meal dishes with either rice or noodles for only $10.80 at dinner time and $9.80 at lunch. There's a great choice of dishes, you can choose just what you want for yours and everyone else can do the same, it's usually all ready to go in the display and you rarely have to wait for more to be cooked. If you do it doesn't take long though. You can also get spring rolls and both fried and steamed dim sims from the take away bar with specials on those as well usually if you buy a few. And of course with all good chinese - don't forget to grab a pack of fortune cookies and some prawn crackers off the counter too!

I stopped in to pick up a couple of sushi rolls for lunch including Terryaki Beef and Terriaki Chicken. At $2.50 each, they were incredibly fresh and came packaged in your typical plastic sushi containers with wasabi and soy sauce fishes. The meat was incredibly nice and flavored very well, the cucumber was cut evenly and presented very nicely (sushi making is an art after all), and the sushi was also served at the right temperature too. Seating was rather nice and the store was very organized with attentive staff who served quickly yet very well. They also had menus on the counter which I decided to take a copy of. It seems like they have a nice range of food and they are open from as early as 8am to as late as 8pm on weeknights, meaning that any time can be sushi time. They also discount sushi in the evening to half price in order to clear and keep produce fresh. I will definitely be coming back for the sushi and probably will try some of the noodle dishes too because the aroma in the store was quite nice as I went at lunch time.
