I had a delicious, freshly made sandwich from their deli, a bag of chips and a drink all for less than $9. Try to eat at a fast-food restaurant these days for that. I had passed this place a few times on my way to Lynchburg from Norfolk. I'm on the road a lot and I always look for local places to stop and eat. Without a doubt, this spot will be a regular stop from here on out. The market itself is full of interesting foods and snacks. Lots of delicious pickles, preserves, deli meats, and cheeses. They also serve delicious sandwiches. The menu is simple and it's a build-your-own approach; two meats and one cheese plus an array of toppings. They do a wrap but don't waste time on that. The bread for the sandwich is freaking amazing. My build today was perfect. I chose Lebanese bologna and ham with Muenster cheese. My toppings were lettuce, onion, and sweet pepper relish. My smartest choice was the smokey horse radish sauce. Holy crap that stuff is unbelievable! Smokey, tangy, and capable of obliterating your sinuses...in a good way. You can grab a drink from the cooler in the back, and there are a range of snacks and chips. Service is fast and super friendly. The store and counter are run by a very kind team of Mennonite women. If you're on your way through Crewe, VA along 460, you need to stop in for a sandwich. You'll be glad you did! read more

Yoders is a Mennonite store and they have pretty quality offerings. Their sandwiches are delicious and are made to order. If not are their homemade chocolate candies. My only real complaint is they're hours as they close fairly early. If you're around at the end of the month get in line to get their super popular fresh made donuts. read more

The food here is soooo delicious! I have to try and not stop by here when I am in Crewe because if they have brown sugar pie, I will be eating half a pie that evening. Donuts on Friday are good too. How have I not reviewed this business yet?? This is my favorite local place for lunch. You cannot miss with Thai choice. Right off the highway so if you're traveling through it is absolutely the best choice for lunch. They serve a wide variety of delicious sandwiches on in house baked buns, freshly sliced deli meats and cheeses, and a good selection of toppings. I haven't ordered a sandwich I didn't like. They have soups out seasonally all of which are delicious but the ham chowder is the best. Check out all the dessert items they have on the shelves and you'll be blown away, from pies to cookies and everything in between they have something for your taste buds. The lemon bars and chocolate chess pie are straight out of a grandmas kitchen somewhere. They also have a variety of grocery items available including spices, pickles, soup mixes and many other staples. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The only thing Yoders is lacking is seating. My son and I stop for lunch frequently but go home to enjoy it during the winter as the only available space is outdoors! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. My husband and I stumbled across it on the way to graves mountain apple festival and to hike white oak canyon. So many goodies. They have a huge variety of candy(especially gummies). We brought home Whoopie pies for the family, oat bran, couscous, bought ourselves sandwiches for the hike and are bringing the kids back this weekend to feed the goats and experience this gem. I have lived in the area all my life and I remember them opening up Yoder's Market. I never stopped there to see what they had until recently because I was on lunch break at work and someone had told me about how good their sandwiches were and that they were afforadable. Let me tell you what, I swear this place has the best chicken salad sandwich around! It is the perfect blend of tangy and sweet! When I was there getting my sandwich made, I saw a cold case with different containers of other delicacies that they had made and that's when I saw it...potato salad. I grabbed a container to try out of curiousity and I swear it's the best potato salad I have ever had! I recommend anyone that needs somewhere to eat in the area stop by Yoder's. Excellent deli and market. Owned and run by Amish/Mennonite folk. Usually waited on by ladies in homemade dresses, aprons, and prayer caps. Their homemade doughnuts are heavenly - I know because I work for a Police Department and pass by Yoder's Market every day on my way to and from work - you know how Policemen love doughnuts! A few weeks ago I spotted the prayer capped ladies outside the store, very early in the morning, making doughnuts. I stopped and bought a dozen and took the doughnuts to work. Best doughnut I've ever had. Everyone who had a doughnut has asked repeatedly for me to buy more doughnuts next time I see them making them. Well, this Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, they are making doughnuts again (saw the sign outside the store this morning as I passed). I already have orders to buy 10 dozen on Friday, and I'm sure by Thursday evening I'll have orders to buy twice as many as that. read more
