I heard about restorative yoga on a podcast and was intrigued, wondering whether it could help with some persistent pain I have been experiencing. Luckily for me, a quick web search revealed that Yoga-4U was an easy drive from my home. Kim returned my voicemail the same day, and worked me in to her schedule that week. When I arrived at her studio, I was greeted by a personal message on the door, and a lovely area for storing my shoes before entering. Inside, the studio was spacious, clean, and peaceful, with music quietly playing and a water fountain gently trickling. Kim explained a little about restorative yoga, and provided me with a clean eye mask and a sock used for grounding. She also asked whether I was okay with essential oils, which she generally uses during the sessions. I especially appreciated this, because I am very aroma-sensitive. During the session, Kim clearly explained the process of assuming the required positioning, and expertly arranged bolsters to provide the needed support. During a subsequent session, I was having more neck pain than usual. Kim adapted on the fly, changing her plan for the session to avoid placing any further stress on my neck. Kim is a warm presence, a caring professional. I really didn't know what to expect from restorative yoga, but under Kim's guidance, I find it to be very revelatory in terms of identifying the areas of my body where I didn't even realize I was holding tension. I took my first yin yoga class at Kim's studio over a year ago. I was immediately impressed with the very small class size in her lovely studio. Particularly, Kim's attention to each student during classes really stood out. Enter COVID and private classes only. I then introduced my wife to Kim after her recent knee replacement(s). She was seeking to improve her flexibility after surgery, which has worked out very nice. Restorative classes continue to prove to be helpful and very enjoyable for both of us. I have been going to Yoga-4U for a few weeks now. Kim is a great instructor, she is a friendly, funny person who knows her stuff. If you have difficulty in a certain pose, Kim will help you through it, bit by bit. If you won't go to Yoga because you are self conscious of doing the poses, go to see Kim, she will make you feel at ease very quickly. She will take up to six people at a time, so the class is nice and small. Give her a go, I am so glad I did. read more

Yoga-4U is wonderful. Kim is an excellent yoga instructor. I'm usually hesitant to try new yoga studios, but I'm so thankful I came here. Yoga-4U offers a Restorative and Yin class. Both classes are excellent! Kim's restorative class is the best restorative class I've ever taken. I always leave feeling relaxed and truly restored. Yin is great too! There are yin poses I practice every day that helps me release tension and move freely. My husband goes to class with me every time. These are the only classes I haven't had to drag him to. Yin yoga was a new type of yoga for me. If you are unfamiliar with this type of yoga it is not so much a flow but it is what I call deep stretching in poses that have beneficial results. See her website for a better explanation. I have been attending classes for the past 4 months and have found both incredible understanding of my body and its ability to stretch and feel better. Kim is fantastic at helping new people get into the correct position and explain what the positions help do for your body. Her studio is beautiful and quiet. It only accommodates 6 people per class but she has an online sign up as well. It is in a residential setting. Her bolsters, flexmats and other yoga tools are beautiful and also lend to a positive and therapeutic experience. I recently took a Yin workshop to better understand the benefits and get a handle of better positioning as well as the all important coming out of a long Yin hold position. It was a really excellent workshop and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is just getting into Yin. Kim is an accomplished yogi, very knowledgeable, and also so approachable about making sure a class is a positive experience. She is kind, thoughtful and simply wants Yin and restorative yoga to be a regular part of anyone's health program. read more

I'd been taking yoga classes in my hometown for about two years.Then in late spring of this year, I was drawn to the idea of working with a yoga teacher ,one on one, in order to break down the yoga poses that were difficult for me to achieve during my weekly yoga class. I wanted to work with a teacher that would be able to provide me with, and then guide me through, modifications for the more difficult poses. I also wanted to work with a teacher that would take the time to answer my questions about all things yoga. I found Yoga-4U on Yelp, read the reviews, and then I read Kim's website. Kim's website was very easy to navigate. I was pleased to read that Kim had completed RYS 200 hour Yoga Teacher training, she has completed extension programs at Core Power Yoga, she is Yin Yoga certified, Yoga Nidra certified, as well as being a Reiki Master. I also read that she continues to deepen her yoga teaching practices as well as her personal yoga practice, by attending yoga seminars throughout the year. On Kim's website I also had a glimpse of her yoga studio. I was very pleased to see pictures of her well equipped, and comfortably situated studio. As I continued to read about Kim and her Yoga-4U studio, this statement caught my eye, and this is the reason I made the decision to contact her:" I enjoy working one on one or in small groups, fostering an environment where my students feel comfortable asking questions and are able to relax." I have now been taking private yoga sessions for about four months, and I am so glad that I made the call! Kim is wonderfully patient teacher. She has helped me with balancing poses and she continues to encourage me to develop the all important core muscles that I need to fully achieve the more difficult poses. I'm truly grateful to Kim for enthusiastically encouraging me to develop a rich and meaningful yoga home practice. Yoga-4U is my happy place! I am so grateful I found Kim and her lovely studio. The studio is intimate, comfortable, and clean and Kim takes great care to make sure that the environment is welcoming and relaxing. After finding her on Yelp, I tried out several Restorative yoga sessions and then, per her guidance, started taking her Yin yoga classes. I switch between the two depending on what I'm feeling like - the Restorative allows me to relax deeply and effortlessly. The Yin classes are a bit more challenging (although never painful or too difficult, by design) but I love how I can feel my flexibility improving with each class. Kim's reiki, massage, and aromatherapies that she graciously sprinkles into each practice take relaxation to the next level. The classes also force you to slow down and be in the moment which I appreciate very much. The thing I love the most about Yoga-4U is how you can truly come as you are. There is ZERO intimidation factor at this studio so you can completely focus on the yoga and your practice and not worry about any judgement or silly periphery stuff. Yin Yoga! Where have you been all my life? :) I know, I know; it's me that's been MIA. I am new to yoga and Yoga-4U has been a delightful entry to this world. The set up is small and intimate, with the fountain sounds and gentle music in the background and soft lighting. Having Kim as the instructor, gently leading and teaching at the same time, really appeals to my scientist side. She has the calm personality and the nicest touch whether she's helping me get into the position the right way, or for that extra stretch. I was searching for that perfect workout to release stress and become more mindful. I had just lost my dear mom from cancer and was her caretaker. I also have a bit of arthritis in my lower back and my doctor even recommended Yoga! I absolutely love going to Kim's Yin yoga classes. Her studio is very serene, comfortable, and cozy. I love that the classes are small (4 people max), so Kim is able to provide specialized attention to each person. Kim has a very gentle and pleasant voice and provides aromatherapy during the session, so I am always able to fall into a relaxed state pretty much as soon as the class begins. I always leave her studio feeling restored and joints loosened. I'm so glad Kim introduced me to Yin yoga and I look forward to trying some Restorative Yoga sessions with her as well. Thank you Yoga-4U, Kim! My only regret is not trying this sooner. I took "traditional" Yoga 19 years ago and since then & 4 kids later, I just figured that I had too little time, not to mention, patience to be still. Well, Restorative Yoga is exactly what I needed and I was very pleased that I made the time for me! I called it my Yoga Massage! It put my mind, body and soul at ease. I joined Yoga-4U as a complete beginner for help with my hips and lower back pain and stress. Kim is warm and friendly and has been absolutely fantastic. Her studio is attached to her house and she has every type of yoga bolster, pillow, strap, pad, etc imaginable. I left my yoga mat at home but Kim lent me one of hers. Kim's restorative yoga class was amazing because it enabled my body to fully relax after a long day at the office. My mind was able to empty out and that night I drove home and went to bed, I slept like a baby and felt invigorated the next day. I also felt my muscles were more pliable in my yoga classes that followed. Her studio is small but the perfect size if you crave added hands on adjustments for certain poses, which Kim offers if you wish to receive.
