I'm a big fan of yoga habit. I've been wanting to get into yoga more and was introduced to yoga habit through a friend. My first class was the first yoga class that I've ever felt like was actually difficult (in a good way) if been to so many other studios and different variety of yoga classes and with confidence I can say yoga habit is the best of the area. Yoga habit has breath, beats, and sculpt. My favorite being sculpt with Kelly on Sundays just because she makes the class fun as well as pushing us to get in a good work out. They always offer complimentary towels as well as mat towels which I appreciate since most places charge. I also like that there's a filtered water station. Everything is so nice and clean inside as well. I love the open bright space from the windows, it was beautiful during some of the snow storms. I will continue to recommend yoga habit to all of my friends. read more

The chillest hot yoga spot in Philly. The studio has a wall of windows -- focusing on sky or outside far away objects makes my practice more fulfilling. Drishti out the window yo. The heat is well distributed around the room. The icing on this healthy habit cake is the cool little accent at the end of class -- chilled overly damp, in a good way, lavender mini square terry towels/washcloths. Pricing is fair when you are a once or twice a week regular, especially considering the excellent and thoughtful teachers. I don't have a membership package here but my girlfriends and I will come for their 6 p.m. community yoga classes for $5. Located on the 2nd floor of the building, the studio faces Fairmount Ave. I like that they keep the windows propped open for some fresh air. There are many cubbies and seating areas in the waiting area, as well as, a few dressing rooms. The studio is very large with tape placed in rows along the room, which makes it helpful to be spaced out properly. The community flow class is challenging but you get a good, sweaty workout. My favorite part of the class is the cold, wet, scented washcloths at the end. Feels so indulgent. Overall I really like the class. read more

This studio is such a gem! The in-studio classes are amazing - hot (but not too hot), and challenging (but not extreme). The cold lavender towels at the end of savasana are *chef's kiss*. During the pandemic, they have gotten so creative - from outdoor classes behind the nearby Eastern State Penitentiary to the streaming classes, they really pivoted well. They are also great about communication and keeping everyone updated about what the latest updates are. Great neighborhood spot with one of the best yoga intro deals I've seen yet! I did Yoga Habit's 21 days for 21 dollars deal a few months back and loved it. You get to take unlimited classes for that three week period, and I took full advantage of that by taking at least three classes a week (making each class under $3). It's pretty easy to take multiple classes per week if you do the $21 for 21 deal as they have classes at 6AM, 9:30AM, 4:30PM, 6PM, and 7:30 PM on weekdays, and classes at various times on weekends. I had a mix of teachers in the first 21 day period. Some I preferred over others, generally those with more experience, but overall I liked all of the teachers I took classes with. It's a relatively new space so very clean and well maintained, and it never has that funky smell associated w/ hot yoga studios (despite Yoga Habit offering frequent hot yoga classes). There's a bathroom and two changing rooms, cubbies for your items, a cold water filter, yoga related items for sale, mat rentals, and a lot of other things that I'm probably not mentioning. Price wise they offer a range: class packs, memberships, drop in rates, and community classes. -Memberships: $49 p/month for 4 classes $69 p/month for 8 classes $89 p/month for unlimited yoga -Class Pack: $140 for 10 classes (whenever you'd like) -Drop in: $18 per class -Community Class: $5 (Wednesdays at 6PM) I generally just go to the community class because it's the lowest commitment (and also the cheapest), but it does get really packed in there, so depending on how you feel about that you might prefer one of the other options. Let's be honest right off the bat. This is a HOT yoga studio. Which means the studio is heated(about 95 degrees I think) and flow of the class is a little faster. There are a lot of instructors to choose from, they don't usually show the poses, but call them out by either name and provide guidance. Everyone's very supportive at the studio, no mirrors and classes feel free of judgement. Several scheduled classes a day, more than the other studios near me. They also provide a cold, lavender towel at the end of class, it really takes the practice to the next level. The studio has a shower and several changing rooms. Towels and mats available for rent. What I love most about doing yoga here... - it's a great workout with friendly and knowledgeable instructors. - super clean!! - they always remember my name. - the play music a lot of the time and makes the workout go by faster. - cool lavender towels at the end.... ahhhmazing! I just came back from having a baby and as soon as I walked in Ali (who works there) noticed immediately no baby and remembered my name:) it was SO nice to be back and feel like you were missed. I took Lindsay's slow flow class on Sunday night. Her class was great from beginning to the end where she included lavender oil and a small head massage to complete the practice. The best part she played music that perfectly suited the practice the whole time! I took Annette's class last night (Monday 7:30pm) and she too had an amazing class - both challenging but also different bc she made us use our mat neighbors for support. At first I felt a little strange but it actually opened me up to new experiences and made me feel more connected and energized:) I truly love coming here!! read more

I use to go to Hot Box Yoga in University City but now I live in the Fairmount area so I was in search for a closer place! One of my roommates tried Yoga Habit and loved it! So now all of my roommates and I have signed up! They have a great intro pass for Yoga Habit first-timers!! You get unlimited yoga for 21 days for ONLY $21!!! Such a steal considering one drop in class is $20! They also have community classes for $5! I think those are typically on Wednesday's at 6pm but check the online schedule to be sure! This is a great affordable way to try hot yoga if you have never done it before! One week has gone by and I am OBSESSED! I have been doing the 6am class often because I enjoy starting off the day is a refreshed relaxed mood. The instructors are all really awesome and the one wall is all windows so the natural sunlight really brightens up the place! Towards the end they open up the windows and give you a cool towel that has hints of lavender oil in it. It was a very relaxing way to cool off and end the class! I have recommended this place to so many of my friends and they are all slowly but surely starting to sign up, especially because hot yoga is great when the weather starts getting cooler out! read more

My favorite! No mirrors, great adjustments and options, hot and sweaty, music only during savasana. Mat storage and complimentary filtered water and towels (mat size towel liners to avoid slipping) for members. Best part - cold lavender towel during savasana (you really earn it after an hour and 15 minutes of a hot practice!) Favorites - Alicia's Monday 6pm class, any class taught by Jen, the Saturday and Sunday 9:30am classes. I hate to be the first not-5 star review for this place. It's super close to my house (yay for location!) and the space is beautiful. When I took my first class (Caitlin's yin and restorative on Sunday evenings), I was obsessed. She has such a soothing voice and you leave feeling like you are walking on clouds. However, I tried a few other instructors during my 3 weeks for $21 (such a steal!) and didn't love any of them. The room was always SO HOT for the heated flow that I could barely see through the sweat in the my eyes (think Core Power level of hot, or maybe even more intense). Also, it's so nice that this place is popular, but some of the classes were packed!! I love that they have lines on the floor for your mat, but I hate feeling like I am crammed into a space. I won't name names about the instructors that I didn't like their style of teaching because it's truly an individual preference. I plan on trying out Jen's class soon, and continuing to end my week in Caitlin's restorative. The schedule has a great variety of options and it's hard to say no to ending practice with a lavender towel on your eyes and then stumbling two blocks home. read more

Great, welcoming studio. I've done everything fitness related before this but yoga was always a big weakness. After explaining I was a beginner, they told me it wasn't a big deal and really helped me feel welcome. It's not your typical "stuck-up" studio that I've tried in the past. My favorite yoga studio! At first I was concerned that room would be too hot but the temperature is a nice, workable dry heat that I really appreciated. I love being able to take the slow flow and basics class in addition to the regular power flow. My favorite part: the frozen lavender towels! My boyfriend bought me a 10 class card for Christmas last year and I must say that going to the Sunday morning class has been fabulous. I use it as my recovery day after working out hard all week. I tried to spread it out and make the pass last longer. I've had many different teachers and they've all been great :) their practice is invigorating, empowering, strengthening, and above all centering. I've had nothing but great experiences here and look forward to continuing my membership in some capacity! read more

First of all, the $21.00 for 21 days is an awesome deal!! So worth it if you are unsure about the classes there.. it gives you enough time to really check them out. When I first started my 21 days, I honestly thought possibly this wasn't for me as I felt I didn't mesh with the how the classes were taught (my previous studio does things quite differently) However, as time went on, I found my grove, and really look forward to my next class each week. I just signed up for a membership! If you are an early riser and can possibly take a 6 am class, I'd highly recommend taking Danielle's class on Tuesday morning.. She's an awesome teacher, the class always has a great vibe, and since I started attending, I have left the class feeling rejuvenated and ready to face the day! So worth it! I was so nervous to try this studio about a year ago when I was completely new to yoga, but I'm so happy I did! I took the Yoga 101 workshop and have been hooked ever since! Every instructor is super welcoming and meets you where you're at no matter what level. They offer great adjustments and modifications so you can really get the most out of your practice whether you're a first timer or an experienced yogi. I also love how involved the studio is in the Fairmount community. The new student $21 for 21 days is a great deal, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to try out yoga! read more

So excited that Yoga Habit opened this past weekend in the Fairmount/Francisville area! I can finally sneak in those workouts early in the morning before work or right after or even on weekends! Jen, the owner, is super nice and welcoming, and all the instructors I've tried so far are great, challenging and hands-on. The studio itself is cute and clean (very important!), and the hot yoga room has WINDOWS! I was so happy when I saw that since it's so hard to find a studio that has windows and allows the light to come in during class... Trust me, it makes a difference. Also, they are offering a $21/21-day unlimited yoga class special for all new students (aka everyone), and that's just one more reason why this place is awesome. read more

I was very excited to join a community class that was accessible and fun. However, when I later asked how I could opt out of adjustments until being more comfortable with the class, due to a PTSD related panic attack I experienced in the class prior, the response was offensive, rude, and hurtful. The responder questioned the validity of my panic and my trauma and essentially put the blame on me. I would not recommend this studio for anyone looking for a trauma sensitive approach or for any queer, Trans, or LGBT folks. read more

I initially did the 21 days for 21 dollars with my roommate, which is an awesome way to feel out the studio. I was on the hunt to sign up for a yoga membership somewhere but I just wasn't exactly sure which studio yet. So I actually did trials at several other yoga studios in the neighborhood. The decision of which studio to sign up at was easy for me! Yoga Habit is clean, they give you a cold lavender towel at the end of each class to cool down, the prices are reasonable, and they even have student deals! I also noticed that the people who go to this studio seem to be more friendly as well, which is especially nice for people who may be new to the area. Special shout out to Ali Redding and Jung Kim, they are my favorite instructors so far-- prepare to sweat! They both do a great job of mixing things up in their classes which I appreciate. Also, I want to commend this studio for being super conscientious about the smell of the studio! I have been to some pretty stinky hot yoga studios. Yoga Habit burns incense, opens windows in between classes, and they have complimentary mat and block spray that smells lovely. read more

I could not be more excited about this new addition to Fairmount! Before Yoga Habit, I had to leave my neighborhood for a good, sweaty yoga class. I love being able to yoga where I live! I learned about the studio over the summer when Jen and others from the studio were hosting free outdoor community classes at the Oval and public pool. I loved the community outreach and the classes, so quickly signed up for their new student special, $21 for 21 days of unlimited yoga. What a deal, and needless to say, I was hooked and signed up for a membership. Not only are the instructors great, but the studio is gorgeous (big space and windows!) and you can tell it is a true labor of love. There are little thoughtful touches that enhance the experience, such as placing a cold, lavender scented towel for each student to enjoy during shavasana. The different levels of membership come with nice perks (like mat storage at the studio, which is super convenient when walking to/from work to class!). Highly recommend the studio to anyone looking for an amazing place to practice. read more

I love this place! The owner Jen is a doll and super nice. The instructors are very helpful and friendly. Every studio has their own style, I personally like this one because, it's a large open room, very clean, no music during class and faces windows. There are no mirrors in the studio and almost all classes are hot. The times are slightly limited, but I bet they will add more classes as the studio clientele grows. If I could I would give this studio six+ stars. I've been practicing yoga off an on for years but anywhere else I went I would never be able to get into it, or remain consistent. A lot of the times I felt like a yoga outsider. Not at Yoga Habit. Jen and her staff are always welcoming and their classes are the perfect amount of challenging. The instructors mention small adjustments that I've never thought of before that make a huge difference. For the first time I can say I've made progress in my poses and confidence, since the instructors always encourage the right amount of pushing yourself further. I started with the 21 days for $21 and now have an unlimited membership, which is worth it! The studio itself is always clean with a welcoming community vibe. I especially love the large windows that add to the beautiful atmosphere and as others mentioned the lavender towel is a great ending to each class! Lastly, I really appreciate Yoga Habit's commitment to the Philadelphia community at large by fundraising for various organizations once in a while through classes. I did the trial (21 days for $21, great deal) last year to test this studio out and I recently signed backed up for a monthly package. This place is really close to my house which is awesome. The one thing that really bothers me about this studio though is the fact that it is SO LOUD every single time I go there. I get that a lot of the women know each other but yoga is supposed to be physically and mentally relaxing and this place is not that. I am so surprised that the instructors let people talk as loudly as they want, especially in the actual studio where we are about to begin practice. I wish some of the instructors would take control of the environment and remind people to calm down and stop talking. read more

This was supposed to be my first visit to the studio. I was a bit late to the class (should've known public transport wouldn't be reliable) - completely my fault and can only blame myself. However, I didn't realize how strict the studio was about needing to be early to sessions. When I showed up and tried knocking on the door, no one answered. In fact, I was blatantly ignored by two women I saw inside, one who seemed like she was crouching behind a desk in order to hide her presence. I tried calling as well, which of course went to voicemail, until I saw the sign posted outside about the door being locked to accommodate starting class on time. I respect the studio's policies and would've accepted being turned away because of my tardiness but the fact that the staff didn't have the courtesy to even acknowledge my presence or give an explanation was incredibly rude and a huge turn-off. read more

I love that this studio opened in my neighborhood last spring! I always feel like I get an amazing (and sweaty) workout here, and the cold, lavender towel for savasana is both well-earned and appreciated! I like the flow of the Baptiste-style classes, the studio is beautiful, and the teachers and Jen (the owner) are very sweet and supportive and do a great job of remembering the names of regulars. I feel like I'm part of the studio community, and that the studio has also become an active member of Fairmount. Since the studio opened, I've tried to go about 3 times a week and have really liked (almost all) of the teachers I've had (there was a male teacher who is no longer on the schedule- I felt his classes were too serious, too Bikram-like, and not the same vibe as the other Yoga Habit classes). I work from home and usually attend the weekday and Saturday 9:30am classes, but they recently added some 4:30pm classes on Mon/Wed/Fri afternoons that have been great as well. I also love that there's now an 11am class on Sundays- sometimes I just want to sleep in a little bit on the weekends, ya know? They've also been adding more workshops on weekends- intro/basics "101" classes, a couple of inversion classes coming up, and even some intention-setting for the new year. I'm hoping to participate the next time they have the "40 days to personal revolution" set of classes (I think 6 or 8 weeks?). My only suggestion is that, especially with how packed a lot of the classes are, it would be great if they added more times. I think a lunchtime, 12-1pm class on weekdays would be popular, and a late morning or early afternoon on Saturdays as well. Since the Sunday night restorative classes are so popular, perhaps adding one on Friday nights (as everyone ends the work week) would be nice as well? Overall, love this place and love that it's a 10-minute walk from my house. It's such a great addition to my life! read more

In advance of the studio opening, YogaHabit started doing classes at my company last year. For a yoga novice, I found the sessions are challenging, but not intimidating at all. Plus, Jen, YogaHabit's owner, mixes up the style and routine of her classes, so your body is constantly learning. In general, I do not practice yoga as part of typical workout routine, but YogaHabit's openness and authenticity in the practice as well as the welcoming instructors have changed my mind. Several years ago I had tried a couple of yoga classes where I used to live but it just didn't click with me. I decided to try again and am so glad I did, and that I chose Yoga Habit. So far I have taken Yoga 101, which is an introduction, as well as two Yoga Basics classes, one with Jen and one with Alysha. This studio fits my style--a little more active, a little less emphasis on spiritual. Plus the heat is not overwhelming as it was in the previous studio. Both instructors were very helpful and supportive/encouraging. At the end of the class they give you a cold, moist, lavender scented hand towel to put over your eyes, face or whatever and it is heavenly. Highly recommended. read more

I've been to several yoga studios in the Art Museum area. This is by far the best if you are looking for an intense but utterly satisfying yoga practice. Yes, you will sweat but it's really about personal challenges / fulfillment. With respect to the studio, it's very neat and clean. Some weekend classes can get crowded so show up a little early to avoid the check-in line. Nothing beats the warmth of the studio on a cold / bitter day but, I have to say, that I also enjoy the studio in the summer heat. Yoga habit is probably my favorite place in Philly! This studio is owned by an awesome human, the classes are taught by experienced and thoughtful teachers, and the vibe is welcoming and bright. Classes are warm (not hot hot but in the 90s), intelligent power flow, that end with a relaxing cool lavender towelette and occasional words of wisdom. I always leave feeling rejuvenated and totally sweaty. The facilities are super clean and user friendly (changing rooms, shower, cubbies, mats and towels for rent etc). Unlike some studios, the classes do not have background music for the majority of the flow, to better hear the community breath. At first this was a transition for me, but I've grown to appreciate the energy cultivated in this way. I would say that everyone is and feels welcome here, and there is no pretense- come as you are! There are myriad membership options, and I have found the pricing to be more than reasonable (especially considering I want to go as much as possible). All the classes are worth it- but I also have to shout out some seriously great instructors (Kristin, Courtney, Alicia, Ali, Jen) - go to their classes if you can! So stoked to have Yoga Habit in the neighborhood! read more
