Can not recommend this heated studio enough! I went regularly when it opened over 10 yrs ago & stop…read morein when I am visiting. It's a welcoming community that has stayed true to its roots. Instructors are all knowledgeable & friendly, good class times & a nice little touch to end class with a lavender towel!

I've been here a few times and thought I'd write a review (the first)! They run a special for new…read morestudents for 10 days/$10. Great deal and after that has passed, they offer varying packages for classes or drop-in is $15/class. Before I get in to the "meat" of my review, I'll preface by saying I am/was an avid Bikram Yoga fan and had been taking Bikram classes for about 5 years on and off in Chicago and Pittsburgh. My review will be comparing it to Bikram as that's my only point of reference for yoga. Unfortunately, the Bikram Lawrenceville location and the former Mt. Lebo location were inconvenient for me so I was in search of a comparable form of yoga. I was hesistant to try a new form of yoga but it was definitely time - mentally and physically. While the format of Pure Power Yoga is very different from Bikram, it's very challening and can be tailored to your level of fitness/yoga practice. The room is heated at 90 degrees rather than Bikram's 100-110 degrees. So rather than sweating upon entering the room like in Bikram, you start sweating after a few poses in. It's faster paced than Bikram but you don't stay in the moves as long which makes it more fast-paced. The postures are different but share some similarities. I don't always understand the names of the poses they are saying but can recognize some aspects of the poses when I see other students or the teacher do them. Although I still expereience some discomfort at this new style of yoga...what can I say I'm a creature of familiarity and habit, I won't dock the place any stars because it is a challenging workout physically while also calming the mind (same benefits I felt I was getting with Bikram). This may sound crazy, but I miss the strictness of Bikram (no talking in the room, no/limited sips of water, must try to do the poses) and the over the top heat of Bikram. It felt more disciplined to me but I'm sure Power Yoga has that aspect to it the further you get in to the practice. It takes time to get used to change and although I'm still getting used to the different format, pace and poses of this form of yoga, I'll feel that it's a great workout. The studio is kept clean and the staff is extremely friendly. Sarah is always welcoming, kind and supportive and it's appreciated as a new student to this form of yoga!

I fell in love with this studio! Not only are the instructors super welcoming, but so are the yogis…read morethat attend the studio! Each instructor has their own style, so even if you go 5 days a week, you'll get something different, and maybe even new! The instructors are up for helping you with whatever you may be working on in your practice, as well. They are very helpful and will make sure your doing the poses correctly or to their fullest! The studio itself is very clean and open. It's kept at about 80 degrees, so it does get warm, but it's not sweltering hot. You'll get a nice sweat going! I'm also a huge fan of the props available for use - bolsters, blocks, straps, etc. If you'd like, you can store your mat in their back room on their yoga mat rack! Although the parking lot is small, it is stacked parking, so there's usually plenty of room. If not, the church across the street has additional free parking! I highly recommend Yoga Love if you're in South Hills and need a good yoga spot! I was still fairly new to yoga and didn't feel overwhelmed or inexperienced at this studio - it's a comfortable atmosphere. They have a second location over in East Liberty which your pass works for, as well! ~namaste~

I have never been to the east lib location, but the SHV one is great! I also hear there's a groupon for some classes. I grew up in Pittsburgh and now live out of town. If I was still a permanent resident here, this would be my studio.
