I've been spending time in Flagstaff during the summer on and off for years and have been to this…read morestudio more than a handful of times both this summer and last. They had some growing pains with the heat when the first opened but have that under control now... The yoga classes they offer are just what I needed every time I went. I especially loved taking Kortney's classes. YogaSix prides itself on providing a "sensory yoga experience accessible to all," and I can see why... the instructors all provide modifications so whether you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced, you can give your body what it needs that day. Their six core classes are: Y6 101, Y6 Restore, Y6 Slow Flow, Y6 Hot, Y6 Power, and Y6 Sculpt & Flow. I've taken the Y6 Hot, Y6 Power, and Y6 Sculpt & Flow and have enjoyed them all... I highly recommend taking advantage of their introductory offer (currently $26 for the first week although that may change) or I believe you can also do your first class for just $10. Note: this studio is all about selling memberships, providing long term benefits and customer service, and that is not a bad thing, but even if you're just interested in drop-ins on occasion like me, you'll likely get a lot of follow up phone calls! Even so, I'll continue to drop in for some solid classes on future trips to Flag and recommend that you do the same!

Thanks to my friend Kelly L who suggested we meet up... we made it happen! We went to Gwyn's 4:30 class on a Friday. It was 45 minutes long and it went by really fast... I felt like I did get a full body workout in with strengthening, lengthening, cardio, and more... it was upbeat and everyone I met at the studio (staff and attendees) were super friendly. The studio was also very clean and how sweet that they welcomed me in for my first class with a personalized sign?! I would absolutely recommend this class for someone looking for some workout motivation in a fun, supportive environment... You can make many of the moves harder (or easier) by adding heavier weights or adding additional movement. I will probably go a bit heavier next time! It's worth sharing that your first class is free (thanks for that) and that you'll likely get some text messages from the studio once you do sign up, but they don't bombard you like other studios I've been to previously... I look forward to returning for another class when my schedule allows!

Rebekah has done an incredible job of cultivating a culture here among the staff and members of caring, respect and encouragement, so that wherever you are on your fitness journey on a given day, you can be supported. For example, I had a persistent injury earlier this year that made some moves not accessible for me, and the instructors were great about checking in with me to make sure I was using a modification. When my injury finally healed, they even celebrated it! I travel a lot, and I genuinely miss the people here when I'm away.

The space is a bit tight, but works. I went to a free intro class and the instruction was fine. I…read morekinda wish it had been a full class vs a half hour intro, to get more of a feel for it, but I appreciated the intro class chance. I won't return for more classes, however, because: a) Although I explicitly opted OUT of text messages and calls, I received several calls and texts and it felt very high-pressure-y even before I went to the class. I got more after. b) Although I liked the class well enough to be interested in going to more, I'm not willing to sign up for a recurring billing situation, and there is no option as far as I can tell to buy a pack of classes for a limited time or anything--just monthly subscription options for once a week, twice a week, etc. 3) Despite all those calls and texts, going to an intro class, scouring the website, and getting promotional brochures after the intro class, and despite now knowing the fees for *missing* a class, etc, I still do.not.know how much any subscription level actually costs. I don't think there's any subscription in the world I want to sign up for without being able to see the prices in advance. I also would prefer to really try things out without having to commit to a subscription, anyway. The place might work great for people who are less risk-averse or who don't mind high pressure sales tactics without actual pricing, but it's not for me, unfortunately. (Barre3 down the street offers 10-class packs in addition to clearly priced subscriptions, btw.)
