I was treated to my first class here from a friend who knew I needed it when I didnt even know. I have taken two Yin Yoga classes with Shawna (I believe that is her name, I am so bad at that lol). As someone who has tried yoga before I was really nervous to try again but the Yin was exactly what I needed. I did struggle a little bit, but Shawna was absolutely kind and understanding and lets you go at your own pace. It was amazing. This past weekend, I did the Gentle Walk Home to yourself workshop with Maggie. ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED!!! This was incredible. It was a 3 hour workshop and my friend recommended it to me as she felt I could really benefit from it. I am forever grateful. I had no idea what to expect, and towards the beginning, Maggie had us write in a journal and I got unexpectedly emotional. Really emotional and I cried. I let a LOT out. I raised my hand when people were sharing their experience during that, and in this room full of women I had never met, they were so caring and supportive. They crawled over and hugged me. They thanked me. They got up and hugged me and rubbed my shoulder when they walked by at the break. Maggie thanked me. I will not share any additional details of the workshop as there are no photos or videos and I respect the confidentiality but it was the best thing I have done in as long as I can remember. It was 3 hours of just pure self care and love and support. I can not express how grateful I am for Maggie, for my friend that recommended this, and every single woman in that workshop that made me feel so loved and comfortable and supported. It was honestly life altering. I let out so much I was holding on to, I slept so good Saturday night!!

And I am so glad that this played out that way! For the next few months, I was introduced to yoga, and got to explore breathing and balance, and learn various yoga poses. Lanie was receptive with my pace, and encouraged me to push a little further when I was a little too comfortable, but also gave me extra attention and guidance when I experienced intermittent back spasms. Since I've started yoga, my back is in much better shape, and I've definitely gained some flexibility that had been missing for years.
