We took a beach yoga class from Erika and it was lovely. The class was at 8 and Erika brought blankets to practice on. After learning a bit about me and my classmate's experience with toga, she taught a gentle, meditative yoga class in English and Spanish. We came away relaxed and content. At $27 US it's a bit pricy, but given that they supply the blankets and the space and set up and clean up, and given the lovely location, it's definitely worth it. read more

I took an incredible beach sunset yoga class with Alma. She was super playful, engaging, and welcoming. What made it even better was that she taught in both English and Spanish--it was like getting a free, fun language lesson on top of a great workout! I had been to Yoga Vallarta more than 10 years ago on my last trip to PV and was happy to see they were still open. I attended the 9am class on Wednesday with Monica. I was 1 of 2 yogis so there was a lot of individual attention. The class was a nice flow and movement of after a few days on the beach plus eating and drinking. I think it would be good for beginners but also nice for a more experienced yogi. I paid $20 USD for the class plus mat rental which felt fair given this area is a tourist destination. I would definitely come back on another visit. read more

A group of us are staying in Puerto Vallarta at a house we rented. We heard about Yoga Vallarta and requested to have an instructor come to the house for a session. Alma was wonderful! I have been a regular client of Yoga Vallarta & Pilates Studio for several years now, and I have to say that owner/teacher Alma Aguilar and her studio, teachers and staff are all just so wonderful, kind and talented; and I am so very grateful to be part of the Yoga Vallarta family. Prior to COVID, I took several classes per week with a variety of teachers, all very skilled and caring. Then, with COVID, Alma did a brilliant job of "pivoting" her business to keep us all safe and still able to practice together. We began doing morning and sunset yoga on the beach a year and a half ago and that has been an even more wonderful experience! We get to enjoy the peace and beauty of the beach, fresh air, and the benefit of Alma's direct and excellent teaching skills, all while breathing in and out with the rhythm of the ocean! And now, there is a new studio location that is one of the most beautiful yoga studios I've ever been in. It is a gorgeous site, over looking the ocean with windows all around that can be opened for tons of fresh air and ocean breeze! Yoga Vallarta & Pilates Studios has options for everyone and every level of practice, and this group of yogis are kind, joyful, peaceful and welcoming! This yoga is the best start to most of my days! While visiting Puerta Vallarta, I had the distinct pleasure of participating in multiple morning yoga classes with Alma in this amazing city. Alma is an amazing yoga instructor! Not only did I feel revived from my practice, but I also had a deeper understanding of the purpose of the poses I was doing. In the states, I typically speed through my yoga classes. I appreciated Terry's attempt to accommodate mixed levels in a small class (just 5), but I was looking for a flow while he just had us stretch and hold some poses while he adjusted each person individually. Brought a friend who's a beginner and she liked it a lot. He was very attentive to alignment and showed us some new stretches, so 3 stars... I'm a 2/3 vinyasa flow person so was just looking for a basic flow w/ breath work while on vac. On my way out I asked the next teacher if there were any advanced flow or "sacred" (chanty/meditative/prana) classes but n/a outside of Sayulita, apparently... I was disappointed but still glad to have this studio as an option on vac. I will look for a private instructor (or invite my own yogi to come with) next time! read more
