Mariso is a fantastic teacher - super attentive to proper form, attentive to individual progress, and motivating. I first connected with her as teaches yoga class on beach to guests of Setai hotel. I followed to studio yoga that. Studio itself is very simple but has everything you need (mat and props). Heavy rain outside with chimes outside of window made it all the more poetic. I am soooo impressed by Yoga that. I initially was expecting moderately paced yoga for the beginner class I attended. I thought I had basic knowledge of yoga but boy was I wrong! Yoga that completely blew me away with the attention to form and technique. The way our instructor explained everything was so detailed and maximized our stretch. It wasn't rushed and and he truly explained every pose thoroughly. Most importantly he was SOOO patient. I workout almost everyday so stretching is absolutely essential because of how sore and tense I get. The room is cozy, their are mats and props to use if necessary which is extremely convenient. I have been a yoga teacher for 12 years . It's hard for me to find inspiration and good teachers in Miami with all the "boot camp " fitness style yoga. In my opinion , Edwin is one of the most knowledgeable teachers in Miami. He really carry's the Iyengar lineage and cares for his students. I have been to 3-4 different studios on Miami Beach and after buying a Groupon and attending 5-6 classes I have to say that I have really been enjoying Yoga That. I've primarily been going to the YogaWorks Classic classes with Edwin and it's been great getting back into my practice. The thing I like the most about Edwin is that he makes a point of going around and correcting everyone's poses even when it is a busier class. With his help, I have corrected several poses in a short amount of time with Edwin that I had been doing wrong since I started doing Yoga 2 years ago. It is a nice, clean, but small studio above the Hiperfit gym so I highly recommend signing in online to ensure that you get a spot because occasionally it can be crowded. read more

I attended one class here while I was on vacation and it was one of the best yoga classes I've been to. I would have given 5 stars, but having only been to one class, I can't say that the studio as a whole is as awesome as Emily's Saturday morning class. The class focused on proper alignment, but had a steady flow as well. Emily was so knowledgeable about the sequencing of poses as well as safe alignment, and she challenged students based on ability. I left feeling inspired, rejuvenated, centered and strong. The studio itself is not hard to find (although it is located above gym. Yes, you might have to wait outside for the class before yours to get out, but that's pretty common when the studio is part of another business or within a building rather than stand-alone. As far as levels go, unless you're looking for Bikram/power/hot and sweaty yoga, the mixed-level class should suit a moderate practitioner just fine. read more

Amazing teachers in this hidden studio (above Hiperfit Fitness). I've been practicing yoga for more than 10 years and I found in this place the best teachers. So far, I've taken classes with Edwin, Allisa and Emily. All of them are great, but my favorite is Edwin. They all give detailed instructions and they CORRECT your asanas (positions), which seems very unusual in most yoga studios or gyms. How can you know that you're doing something wrong if nobody helps you? That is something that I don't understand and I've seem people doing improper positions that could be dangerous and teachers doing nothing about it. Not in this studio. I love the classes flow, the people, the environment. The reasons I'm not giving 5 stars to this place are: - There is not a separate area where you can change in case you come directly from work. There are 2 bathrooms in the gym downstairs, that are clean and big, but somehow you feel like you are entering into other business. - The place could receive a little TLC, but nothing major. Even though I have those issues, I'm trading my Equinox membership (I love this gym, but I'm not a fan of their yoga classes lately) for this hidden gem. read more

I absolutely love this studio. I started going back in October, but then I got married and travelled for quite awhile, was Injured skiing, and am just getting back. This studio is so focused on the things that matter, like proper alignment and posture, I feel like I am so safe and I don't have to worry about getting hurt. I have been going to Yoga That since it opened in 2012 and enjoy the YogaWorks style taught there. The style incorporates vinyasa and alignment with a lot of therapeutic props added into the mix. I leave class feeling both invigorated and serene. Great location. Free parking after 6 pm. The studio was difficult to find for it was on the second floor of a gym, when I arrived I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to open the gym. I ended up being the only student in the class which was great !! Private class for half the price !! The room is very cozy, wide space. The class was good but it was more like a general flow.. I love to be challenged and I didn't find it challenging but for those that love a soft calm class I would definitely recommend Yoga That! read more

I have taken about 10 classes here while I'm in town and can say all the instructors I have experienced were great. Edwin, Alissa, and Allaine all provide very experienced instruction. I have been a certified yoga teacher for years and always learn something while in their classes. I really enjoy the slower/mindful classes they offer yet look forward to the more challenging physical classes as well. Great studio (located right above Hiperfit Fitness) with amazing instructors. The instructors give detailed instructions and correct your asanas. These instructors actually improve my practice by correcting me. Classes are small enough that students can receive individual attention from the instructor. Edwin is a wonderful teacher who has made me fall in love with Iyengar yoga. He gives clear instruction and is very observant, correcting us kindly and patiently when needed.
