I was working out today wondering why on earth I have never written on Yelp about one of my all time favorite places. I have been working out here at The Pilates Path Studio for almost 7 years. When I first started Pilates in Los Angeles 9 years ago, I had the opportunity to work with several instructors in four studios. I found a few instructors who served no better purpose than to tell me what to do and count off the repetitions for me. I found another who injured me each time I worked out with her. Then about a year before I left L.A., I found my wonderful instructor and hated to leave her. I was very concerned about finding someone here in the Coachella Valley who was just as talented. I wanted to find someone who gave me a workout that would challenge me without injuring me. I had no luck with the first instructor I tried in Cathedral City, so driving by the Pilates Path Studio, I called them and spoke with Shary. I told her what I was looking for in an instructor. All it took was a couple of lessons before I realized that I struck gold. I find it incredible that as I grow older, I grow more well defined muscles. Different muscles that weren't there even two years ago have popped up. My abs are so strong, it's amazing to me. I was on a flight recently waiting for the restroom and the flight attendant asked me if I did Pilates. "Was it my posture?", I asked. She said she could "just tell". I am now working out with Josie because Shary has retired and only works a few months per year. Josie is just as talented as Shary. She gets me to think about so many things as I do the movements, that if I arrive uptight, all is forgotten within 10 minutes. I walk out of there taller, stronger, more flexible and content. I am writing this to help the snowbirds and transplants who love their Pilates instructors. You can have faith that the instructors don't go through the motions with you here. They work hard in their coaching, and you will reap the benefits. Any locals who want to give Pilates a try, start here. I live in uptown Palm Springs and pass by a lot of studios to come here because in my opinion, these people completely understand what it takes to help you reach your fitness goals through Pilates. read more

I felt compelled to write a review for the Pilates Path because it has changed my life. About 1.5 years ago my doctor recommended that I take a Pilates or yoga class in order to regulate back pain that I experienced during pregnancy which continued after I gave birth. I had done yoga in the past so I decided to try a different approach and called the Pilates Path. To say that Pilates changed my life is an understatement. My back pain subsided after a few reformer sessions and I immediately felt relief. That back pain subsiding was just the beginning of the benefits that I've received from being a student at the Path. I can honestly say I will never forget how I felt after my first class, I knew that this is what my body needed and I was finally taking care of myself. I started taking classes (reformer and Cadillac, private and group) 2 to 4 times a week for about 6 months and I noticed a significant difference in muscle mass. I would see pictures of myself and I couldn't believe how much taller and more slender I looked; it is hard to feel tall and lean when you are only 5'3" but Pilates truly makes you long and lean. I have continued training on a regular basis and now I am pregnant with another child and I have not experienced the back pain that I had during my first pregnancy. I attribute all of this to my Pilates training and the ability of the instructors at the Path. I most often train with Ellie at the Path but I've also taken classes with Autumn and witnessed most of the other instructors, all have extensive experience in Pilates and kinesiology and that is demonstrated in the depth of their understanding of the anatomical foundations of the exercises. I am especially impressed by their teaching ability and the way they make everyone in the class feel challenged. I love the Path for many reasons especially what it has done for my body but I also love the way it makes you feel. The Path is a warm and inviting studio where students of all levels are welcomed and challenge. I can't imagine my life without Pilates Path! read more

COMPLETELY love Pilates Path! A girlfriend of mine swears by it and has been wanting me to try it for the longest time. So thanks to Yelp, once again, I found Pilates Path. Have to say, best Pilates studio in the desert. I've been coming for a couple months now and I feel fantastic. I work with Autumn, who is an AWESOME instructor. She is such a pleasant person to be around and knows exactly what you need and how to get you there. Workouts are great. I highly recommend you try pilates, whether your someone looking to just get a good workout, keep those limbs and joints working or looking to really get in shape you should try this place out. read more

Absolutely LOVE this studio! All the instructors are so welcoming and have a warmth about them. It just lets you put anything in the outside world aside and focus on your workout and letting go for the hour you're there. All instructors are very knowledgable of what they are doing and are very professional. The studio is very clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to get an amazing workout to pop by here. I promise you will fall in love with all the instructors and feel amazing too. Great studio in the Desert! Centrally located and easy to get to. Path offers reformer, Cadillac, and barrel on one side of the studio, then Lindsey offers Barre, Springboard Pilates (tower work), yoga and Mat Pilates on the other. I dropped in for a barre class and it was well worth it. My adductors and glute med's are still shaking. If I knew I had more time to take more classes I would have bought her unlimited 7day package for $50! What a deal!! read more

I've been taking yoga here for a few weeks now and am really enjoying classes with Lynn and Cheri. I know first hand that the Pilates instructors are great too. If you're looking for yoga or Pilates in south Palm Desert this is a great place to check out. read more

I call this studio my "happy place". Every instructor has been amazing so far and I love the atmosphere. It has a positive, relaxing vibe and attracts the most wonderful people. The instructors are all extremely welcoming and offer a slew of knowledge and proper technique. So far, I have tried the Vinyassa Flow classes as well as the Barre. The yoga challenges me physically, calms my mind and soothes my soul. The Barre classes get my blood pumping and every class is created completely different so I never know what to expect next. I love that! I recommend that everyone try this studio! read more

update of 10/25/14 review. I was contacted by either the owner or representative from Path Pilates. While I feel the overall experience was not professional on several levels, this is a start. I have since found another Pilates Studio that meets my needs. I am hopeful, that my concerns will be addressed for future clients of Path Pilates. Based on this "try" I will upgrade the rating and wish them well. read more

I am visiting from Chicago and wanted to find a yoga, Pilates and ballet barre studio to continue my lessons. This studio is awesome! The teachers are fantastic --very clear in their instructions and fun. I wish I had a place that did all this in Chicago. So many different classes to choose from and I intend to keep going as much as I can while I am still here! You have to try this studio! read more
