Love the feeling here. Slow Flow hot yoga is now my favorite thing. It's a very welcoming studio.

I've been coming here for the last year and half and quickly realized these yoga classes are just…read moremy style. YogaQuest is an amazing, welcoming community in Uptown for the nerdily-inclined. The teachers are totally accepting of whoever comes in the door and really focus on offering yoga for all, even if you don't have the stereotypical yogi body. They offer so many options and variations for every body, and it's a great place to come in as a total yoga newb because they break down poses so well. The classes are awesome and always find a way to put a fun and hilarious spin on a typical yoga class. Tuesday nights offered narrated yoga-alongs to everything from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings to Sherlock and the list goes on and on. On Saturdays, you can even show up in your pajamas and do some yoga and then watch your favorite cartoons with a bowl of cereal. But one of the best things about YogaQuest is the sense of community you'll find there. Within a class or two, you'll notice a lot of familiar faces, and YogaQuest prides themselves on not being a quiet, contemplative studio. There are jokes and stories constantly flying, people asking questions about poses and tons of laughter throughout. In other yoga classes I've been to, it's incredibly serious and you never talk to the person doing a pose next to you, even if you see them every week. At YogaQuest you'll receive a huge welcome when you walk in the door, whether you're brand-new or you've been there the day before. And their focus on nerd wellness means they're always somebody to geek out with about your favorite fandom before, during or after class.

I've been going to YogaQuest periodically for 2 years now and everything I wrote before is still…read moretrue. PLUS, they've added more classes! (Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the bathroom pro. It's so nice to have bathrooms right outside the studio. Easy access but you don't feel like you're in the middle of class with your pants down)

I dunno. I kind of like this place. I came here via a Groupon deal which was: 10 barre classes for…read more$59. Geez, $59? For barre classes? A couple of places charge $20-22 per class and that's with a package. So, yes, please! TimeOut's barre classes are called "Behind Bars". I've only had Madeline so far. I find her a very effective fitness instructor. Even though the classes have 20-30 students, she scans the room and offers up corrections and modifications. This impresses me. I also liked the fact that there seemed to be a wide variety of ages in my barre classes rather than a bunch of 20 something year olds clad in Lululemon with fake tans unlike a certain yoga chain that I will not mention by name. I would recommend signing up for class online. Also, you get a "no show" charge if you sign up for a class but don't show up but this is pretty common with barre classes. I haven't taken the other classes yet, but I might take a pilates one to switch things up. The studio itself is also very, very nice. There are dressing rooms, hot towels, and tea. Reception area people are nice also! So, you have to sign up for an orientation which at first I was kind of bummed out. But, when I went to the orientation, I found it really helpful and the instructor seemed knowledgeable and interested in everyone. Orientation is only about 15-20 minutes so not really a biggie. I would recommend trying to fit your orientation in before a class you want to attend. I've also not had parking issues at this place either but I usually take the first class of the day.

Used the Studio on and off for nine years. They offer Les Mills classes, which is great if you…read moredon't love the experience at the Y. Many great instructors here and the front desk team is good. It's the owner who ultimately pushed me away. I just could not continue to watch her chastise her instructors and clients during classes and disrespect her clients in the truly crazy emails she sends. She said she'd eject people from class if it was obvious they'd used scented laundry products! We all want to be healthy but bullying and treating us like children isn't motivating in the least. Fortunately, there are many other options in South MINNEAPOLIS.

Hannah's classes are a 10/10 each time!!!All of the instructors are supportive, bring great energy, and invite you to challenge yourself. I take classes through ClassPass and Up Yoga is my most frequented studio. Very grateful they are on ClassPass! The studio is inviting and very straight forward. There is street parking and small lots on either side of the building (you probably aren't supposed to park in front of the cremation society during their business hours, but when I go to class the lot is empty and it's after hours, so I park there). You check in at the front desk, leave your shoes and jacket in the lobby, then head into the studio. They have so many class times to choose from, and they stagger the times just right so if you're someone like me who arrives 15 minutes to each class, you don't have to awkwardly wait around for another class to get out before you can go in. It's nice getting adjusted to the heat in the studio before you start moving. I would definitely recommend arriving at least a couple minutes early. You bring your own mat and water bottle. They provide weights, blocks, and towels. They also have cubbies inside of the studio for you to put your belongings, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own lock or leaving your stuff unattended. They also have bathrooms and a changing room if you're coming right from work. I cannot recommend Up Yoga enough!!
