I was so nervous for over a year to try barre as many of my friends said it would be so hard. I…read morechallenged myself yesterday and did something I felt uncomfortable with and came here with my 614 fit week pass to try it for the first time. Upon my arrival I was warmly greeted by Beth who owns the studio. There are two classrooms for barre, the first one she showed me was quite big and scenic with an outdoor view while the second was smaller. Beth explained the area a little bit and then I changed to get ready for my class with Stephanie. Stephanie was such a kind instructor and walked me through each step of the movements we were doing from the warm-up to the barre itself, I felt more confident as much as it hurt so much on my first day. I had so man helpful classmates too explain what to do when I got lost which was so nice. It's all about the movements. Those movements were small and big but they really did the job I was looking for in a fitness studio. Finally, after the 60 minutes we stretched and talked with instructor to get to know the studio and pricing a little bit. They offer a child care area but I don't need it right now. They even offered me a great discounted rate to join and I said I would think about it. If your looking for a challenging but do-able workout try barre, you having nothing to lose trying something new!

I was running later than I would've liked (it was so, so cold on Saturday) and arrived with 5 mins to class. The girl at the front introduced me to the instructor, let me catch my breath, and told me that I could fill the form out after class. My instructor was Jenna and she was wonderful - she checked on everyone through class and did a great job of demonstrating/explaining each move. It was an energetic, motivating and tough class that I thoroughly enjoyed! The studio was clean, had lockers, restrooms and also offered childcare for you mommas out there! They also have a large parking lot (bonus!) and a small retail section. It's on my list of studios to return to as I felt very welcomed and received a great workout!

One of my favorite things is that they greet me by name when I walk in--it truly feels like a place where people care about their members. The variety of classes is fantastic, and I love that they're continuing to expand their offerings with barre and now Pilates in addition to yoga. There's truly something for everyone, whether you're looking for a challenging workout or a more restorative practice. Most importantly, this is one of the few workouts I genuinely look forward to. I leave every class feeling better than when I arrived, and I'm so grateful to have found such a welcoming and encouraging community.

The summer challenge in 2025 encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone and try other studios. Powell quickly went from that studio I tried one time to the studio I go to twice a week every week. This location helped me to expand my workout regimen by offering a wide variety of classes and consistent childcare. Worthington will always be my home base in many ways (big love!!!), but my yoga community has grown and strengthened by opening myself up to new things and new places. I am truly grateful for the wonderful people at this studio.

They were doing a community promo where classes were free that week. I thought that was so smart because all tge classes they offer are a bit different and it's nice to try different ones. Same goes for the different instructors too. My favorites there were Pooja and Katie. They both did an excellent job of cueing you in advance and I just prefer the sound of their voices and their energy (for alot of yogis - IYKYK )...Sometimes certain ppl just draw you in and make you feel safe in a practice. All the instructors were knowledgeable though and I really enjoyed every class. My favorites were Slow & Soulful with Katie and Barre with Pooja. It's a hot studio and the degree and intensity of heat depends on the instructor and class, but you will DEFINITELY sweat!! The studio is very clean, has a peaceful and calming decor and color palette that makes zens you out as soon as you step inside. The pricing is very reasonable - with your first class free and alot of excellent promotions going right now! I'm probably going to get a class pass package to use since I have a primary gym I typically work out at already. Honestly, I would love to see an add on special where mat / towel rentals were included bc one of the best things I have loooved is not worrying about prepping & remembering to bring all my stuff to classes . Their mats have just the right amount of cushion, & mat towels were always clean smelling (VERY important in a hot yoga class). Typically they charge around $5 for the mat / towel combo. They also have showers for those mornings you can't get back home before work or life. Seriously, check them out and see & FEEL what all the hype is about. Tell them Suzanna Lee sent you . Namaste!

I have been taking classes at Balancing Owl Yoga for several weeks now. It was recommended to me…read moreby a friend as I mentioned I was looking for online classes. I began taking online classes during COVID as my studio pivoted when they had to shut their physical doors. Upon reopening, I had become used to both online and in person classes. The studio was less than 10 minutes away and VERY convenient. However, they were facing a closing and I'd also found fewer and fewer classes for me to take. At the peak, I was at the studio 5 days a week for classes. By the end, I only had 2 classes a week. I'm an ALL IN membership person. Will pay monthly fees to have full access. So what drew me to B.O.Y. was its online offering. In looking around at local studios, I find VERY FEW have continued to offer virtual classes. Unlike BOY who live streams just about all in studio classes, other studios maybe offer a couple classes a week - despite having LOTS of in person classes. Another thing I appreciate at BOY is the slower, less physical practice. I have an injury and am unable to fully participate in the power yoga I am used to. I also am getting older and have found the need to modify what and how I do yoga. I am finding great success in the gentle, slow and restorative flow - allowing me to really focus on the mindfulness piece and how each movement and breath feels in my body. The times of the classes are pretty good. Ideally, I want a 6 PM start. Most of the BOY classes I attend are 6:30 - still within my wheelhouse that I'll be sure and show up. Which leads me to the big differentiator. BOY offers all virtual class recordings for a 24 hour period following the delivery of the link (within a couple of hours of the class concluding). I MUCH prefer to attend a live class and have found it a challenge to get motivated to watch a recording. I'm a disciplined person when it comes to all other things, but I know when I register for one I'll possibly watch the recording, that there is little chance I'll do it. The friend that referred me thinks quite differently - so she takes advantage of the recordings. This is only the 2nd studio I've tried after moving away from my former home studio. The entry month deal is great and I highly recommend you give it a try if you have any interest in attending their classes. I may or may not return for a full membership. TBD at this point. Definitely need more research before making that decision. Which reminds me, I need to leave a review for the other studio I just tried online!!
