Happy hour was fun especially if there are other guests. Sitting at their little bar or sitting on the grand front porch just chilling is great. And their breakfasts are amazing and made fresh. Each morning is something different. If you eat it all, there is no room for lunch. My wife and I travel the world, and this is one of the most charming, relaxing, and accomodating places we have stayed. Downtown Front Royal with all of its eateries is within walking distance. The view of the mountains and the Shenandoah National Park are amazing. I recommend Woodward Hosue for anyone visiting Front Royal or the Shenandoah National Park. Michael H. Richmond, VA

The room had lots of space, with a large bed, separate sitting and TV area, and a small refrigerator in the room. It was a little tight in the bathroom. There are alot of collectables throughout the house. The common bar on the first floor had complimentary drinks, with fresh baked cookies and some snacks in the room. There were also sweets scattered through the home. If you find the bed is too high, look under the bed for a stepstool. We were given bath salts as a gift when we left.

We arrived much later than expected and the woman working the front desk during the evening shift was welcoming and extremely kind upon our check in. Definitely the type of greeting anyone would hope for after a long, late night drive. The TownPlace Suites in Front Royal is located in an area with lots of "life" surrounding it. There are places to eat and shop such as a Target, Walmart, Starbucks, and other popular chain establishments. There was ample parking surrounding the hotel and, even more noteworthy, all parking was complimentary. Pets are also welcome at this hotel for a small fee. Our room was extremely spacious for two adults. We were assigned to a two queen bed accessible room. There was a full kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and sink, a dining table, and a large bathroom. There were ample power outlets to charge multiple devices. Plenty of room to spare for just the two of us. A family or group of four could fit comfortably in this room. Perhaps, even a family with three small children willing to share a bed. Complimentary hot breakfast was served each morning. The breakfast had a good variety of items and was actually pretty good! Without a doubt, a five star stay for us. We could have been happy staying here more than one night as the accommodations really made us feel like we were at a home away from home. If we ever find ourselves back in this area of Virginia, we will definitely look to book at this TownPlace Suites again.

After 59 nights, even I wondered how this review would read!…read more Here it is. Location: 5 Stars. It's on a golf course. Friendliness of the Desk Staff: 5 Stars. Great Job! (Just be sure to check photo ID before giving out room keys.) Hospitality: 5 Stars. They even had a hospitality room and a nice outdoor lounge for us. That was very thoughtful. Cleanliness: 2 stars. This is a serious problem. The carpets look very dirty and need to either be replaced or deep cleaned something serious in the common areas! I didn't notice it as much in the lobby but on the 2nd floor it was gross. I'm mainly talking about the hallways. They are very discolored and black i'm places and disgusting. Several times I called the front desk because dishes were left on the table right in front of the elevator for multiple days despite all the cleaning staff coming and going right past them. One time, it had been 5 days and the two wine glasses with just a tad bit of red wine had been sitting there 5 days and I called the front desk to let them know after the 4th day. Day 5, still there! How annoying. I don't live like that at home and I definitely don't want to live like that in this hotel for 59 days. Odor... the hotel stinks. The hallways stink, the rooms stink, and the elevators stink. The bathrooms stink too! (The one in the restaurant is the worst!) Pool Area: 5 Stars. I was shocked at how clean it always looked even though getting in the water made my skin itch. I'd rather have a clean pool with strong chemicals than the alternative. Gym: Above average. Nice! Parking: Plenty of parking! Smoking: I understand that there are designated smoking areas outdoors but i'm not positive they were the correct distance from the front doors. Also, it seemed like nobody cleaned that area regularly either. Room Service: N/A, I ordered a plate and silverware one day to eat in my room with no problem. Comfort: 4.5 Stars! Shockingly the beds were decently comfortable and the pillows were good too. The AC worked well and it was nice and cold for me daily. Design: 2 Stars. The bathroom doors, in every room were the most overlooked feature in the hotel when it was built. It swings in, right in your way! The door almost unintentionally divides the bathroom in half and it's very unnatural and hard to navigate in that awkwardly designed bathroom. I'll be back. Hopefully, they can get the cleaning staff straightened out, steam clean the floors or replace the outdated carpets and decor, and update the rooms to something a bit more modern. But overall, it was definitely the best option in Front Royal for long term lodging!

Moldy and dirty for the price, remote batteries were dead and desk wouldn't replace them.read more

I'll spare the story. My card declined, simple mistake happens to everyone at least once, but they absolutely whaled on the door and scared my boyfriend and I so bad. Instant attitude from the staff. That's when I decided to leave. Other information; huge gaps under doors, very loud it's like there isn't even a door there. The bed squeaks like it's something out the Smithsonian. Bed was unclean, little flecks of black stuff on it (hell no!) Save your money and keep yourself safe. We are now comfortable at the Hilton.

We reserved our date more than a year in advance 06.19.2015. Today I emailed the coordinator to let her know we would be canceling our date because we are expecting our first child in May 2015. We have gone back an forth with whether to continue with the wedding but financially it would be smart to focus on our unexpected child. I received an email back that said they could not refund our deposit because they have turned others away from our date. I find that quite puzzling because when we looked at the calender every weekend in 2015 was practically open and June 19th is on a Friday... I am extremely disappointed because the amount we are losing is pretty hefty. I will not be recommending this facility to anyone. It's unfortunate because the place is gorgeous. Don't do it!! Save yourself the hassle. Life happens and you never know, just know you will NOT get your deposit back. The fact that the deposit is so huge and this company feels that they have done 1,400.00 worth of work on my wedding so far is a little absurd. I do not believe that a bride was turned away from this date and my family is without money we saved. If you're thinking about reserving this facility for whatever reason, just picture something completely unpredictable happening and weigh out whether or not it'll be worth losing your deposit.
