Full Disclosure: After practicing at The Corner Studio for four and a half years, I took Jenna's…read morefirst 200 hour training and now have the honor of teaching here as well. The studio still feels like a second home to me. There are now more varieties of classes than ever before, the memberships are affordable, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Whether you're brand new to yoga or just new in town and looking for a warm environment in which to practice, I highly recommend the Corner Studio Yoga.

I really like the yoga here, it's a bit cold now that the winter is creeping in for real, but Jenna…read morehas been responsive and kind enough to check in about it. They offer gentle assists, anatomically safe instruction (Jenna is meticulous about this), and the right balance of challenge and variation for all levels. I come from a different tradition than Jenna's training but have always left learning something new, and appreciating her style, humility and compassion. The space is warm, beautifully done with a combination of greenery, that reclaimed wood post and beam architecture, and clean lines. There's not a lot of Hindu influence here - their music selections are mostly ambient, modern relaxation or upbeat tracks that don't compete with instruction. Don't get confused -- enter through the Main St. door, as if you were going to the bank, but keep going into the building, and up the first half flight of stairs, you're there! This is a wonderful business in Medford, I want to help hang permanent decal signs on the windows, as it's really hard to know that studio is even there. I discovered it by accident when visiting a friend. Gem in Medford. Support a small business owner offering really good yoga with a sincerely open heart.

Not for me -- I prefer a more athletic practice and found the 3 classes I tried here to be very…read moreslow and not challenging, and without the opportunity to push poses further and make them a bit more interesting or challenging. I was initially quite happy to see a new studio in O2's old space and I had taken classes with Lauren when she subbed there a few times (she was trained at O2 and I believe taught there for a bit, before I became a member) and maybe I just didn't pick the right classes, but I would opt for flow classes at Down Under instead. That said, the prices here are much more reasonable! The cost of drop-ins and class cards at most studios are a huge barrier to making yoga accessible. 866855

If it weren't for the traffic coming off Lake Street to get over to this part of Arlington, I'd definitely be a regular. First things first, no typical yoga studio stink that hits you in the face as soon as you walk in. I don't know if they crank the windows open all the time or if the hard wood floors are a boon but great job on the ventilation. I have a pretty sensitive nose, with overly strong perfume/cologne/BO really getting to me, and Lotus stands out as one of the few yoga studios I've visited where the smell was not an issue at all. I took an evening slow flow class with a focus on the hips and pelvis, which was perfect for my tight hamstrings. Lots of props available. If you get a spot in the back of the room, though, it's tricky to see the instructor demo-ing near the front, so I relied a lot on what my neighbors were doing. They have a cozy seating area and bathroom downstairs that you should check out if able. Check out the website - they have a packed class schedule and an unlimited 2-week special for newcomers.

Over the last 15 years I have been coming to the studio on & off. Life has been kicking my ass as it has most of us since 2020 & this past summer I reached my healing warrior limit & realized that I had done much work on healing my emotional & mental wounds, but not physical ones. I had no idea what to except when I started this training, but let me tell you it has exceeded my expectations. Be In Union is just that. It is a powerful community space to Be In Union with yourself & others in the community who we share more in common with than we realize. I always just "did yoga". After these 3 months I now understand what it means to have a practice. I highly recommend taking the ride to this sacred, energetic space to take classes. Know that you can show up as your are, even if you simply made it on the mat & lay there for yourself. The Yoga Teacher training was truly life changing for me. My intention was never to be a teacher, I simply wanted to get back in touch with & heal my body. I am grateful that I am now part of this community I never knew I really had, yet have been part of for 15 years. Goes to show how if we push ourselves past our comfort zones things "we never imagined" are possible. This teacher training was one of the best investments that I have made in myself.

Kim, the owner, was really nice and you can tell is so proud of this place. I'm so glad it's a fitness option in Assembly! Everything about the experience is so thoughtfully laid out - from the clean space, supremely organized props room, to the accessible sanitizing supplies. Believe me - an experience is about every touch point of your visit - even the sanitizing! My first instructor, Anahi, was great and the class was both challenging and zen - which is my favorite yoga combo. The energy of a class is 100% set by the instructor so she was fantastic, and set the tone on optional adjustments in poses given some previous injuries. Looking forward to trying a few more classes in my trial - they offer a $36 (?) 3-class trial within 7 days so it's a great way to check out a few different classes to see if it's for you or not.
