I had an overall great experience with YoGov. They utilize both email and phone (text) to respond to customer queries super quickly, and are always friendly and proactive in their tone and approach. You can tell they take the time to actually read your messages, and therefore are able to respond with actually relevant and useful information. The team at this location worked with me to reschedule, then unfortunately cancel a driving test concierge booking appointment I'd had with them. This was due to COVID-19 and the DMV postponing all behind-the-wheel driver tests for months. They were so understanding and made the refund process smooth and stress-free at a time that is already so stressful for many. Thank you! I am writing a second review because of the YoGov comment on my prior review. The original review is still relevant so I will keep that part: ___________ My driver's license expires next month and requires an in-office appointment. I drove to the nearest DMV and the people in line were waiting for four hours and not close to being processed. I remembered YoGov and decided to use them for my appointment.Their web site states: "Save yourself from those dreadful lines. Book an appointment in seconds." and my time is valuable so I have no problem paying $14.99 to get an appointment. Well, there is a catch, my friends, and it is a big deal. YoGov is constantly just scrubbing government websites trying to find appointments and they cannot promise any results. Here is the rub: pay for something that is intangible, not guaranteed, and impossible to discuss with the vendor. The web site is clunky and super limited. The limited options include: ASAP; after 3PM; or before 10AM. There is no way to pick the DMV that they send you to. And the worst part is that this business is mechanically harvesting open time slots making it even harder for people to get appointments. ________________________ Now to address the comment they made, which I have a major issue with. "1) We don't harvest any appointments. When you submit a request our team begins to look for an appointment for you just like a personal assistant would on your behalf." They do not mechanically harvest appointments for non people to reserve, however they do harvest appointments for people like me that will not use them resulting in a reduced supply of appointments, this benefits their business. This comment is false, harvesting appointments is their business model. Additionally, the problem runs deeper. It appears like I missed an appointment and I do not like my reputation compromised. The second problem is that appointments are hard to come by so they took the appointment away from a person that did need an appointment. "2) We refunded you for the original charge and added a credit to your account, although it looked like we had the official confirmation but the DMV's computer system had an issue. " This is untrue. The DMV did not generate the email that I received, it came from YoGov. There is no way that the DMV just booked a random appointment for me, sent that to YoGov who then transmitted the appointment to me. "Your satisfaction is always guaranteed!" I am not satisfied, so the guarantee is worthless. "3) I think you may have gotten a reminder for an appointment that was still in our email reminder system, unfortunately, and that's what's caused the latest confusion. " So instead of owning the issue they are blaming this problem on a computer. This goes back to the point of this review, their system is the problem. You can tell a lot about a business by how they manage problematic situations. You can see here that they have not managed the problem, but they just made up excuses. They are very difficult to reach to straighten things out so I have written them on 7 on your side TV. Sad these people pry on others and make no effort to correct their mistakes or misdeeds. ***THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NON-PAID SERVICES*** So I needed to get my driver license renew and DMV sends you the notice/renewal information about 2 months prior to the renewal date. So I figure I'll go online and try to make an appointment. My license expires in July and the EARLIEST that shows up on the online system is early July. I wanted to get something sooner like in June or even May (it's May right now). So I just scheduled the July appointment for now. Someone tells me about YoGov so I decide to check it out. I go to the website and fill out the information, hoping they'll work some magic to get an earlier appointment. I get my email either the same day or maybe a day later with an appointment they scheduled based on the information I inputted (name, e-mail, zip code, etc). The appointment they scheduled me is LATER than the appointment I tried to schedule. So I figure since my appointment is earlier, I'll keep mine. I also try to do some research of my own. So the thing about YoGov is that it picks a DMV based on your zipcode. Although the closest DMV to me is Pleasanton, I am willing to go to other DMV locations closeby (Concord, Walnut Creek) but I don't recall if YoGov gave me that option. By calling DMV, I was able to actually make an earlier appointment in June for Walnut Creek. The reason I am giving YoGov 3 stars is because I didn't think they would CANCEL/REPLACE the appointment I originally scheduled for myself through the DMV website. I went to the DMV website to check/view my appointment, it listed the appointment for 7/5/18. That's the date YoGov scheduled for me but my appointment I made through the website was couple days earlier and I wanted to keep it. So basically, I lost that appointment. I opted not to use the paid services to get an earlier appointment because I wanted to exhaust all my options on my own. It seems like the paid EXPRESS services probably works well but for the free services, I felt like I could just do it on my own - using their online system and/or phone system to get the same date or even BETTER date for appointment scheduling. read more

Really easy to communicate with your Line Concierge. They were nice and helped make sure I had all the correct documents for what I needed. My Line Concierge was the second in line at the DMV in the morning. I only had to wait 10 minutes before the DMV opened their doors and I was one of the first to be attended to. I have had trouble getting my drivers license with using friends cars and having to deal with the dmv. I have had 4 appointments , only drove once (failed), two times I didn't even make it out of the dmv office due to attitudes at the dmv and cancelled one due to rain so I was literally exhausted just thinking about doing the test. At first I was skeptical about this service because of all the negative reviews, but it was such a great experience throughout the whole process. I had the best concierge ever! I needed to get a drivers license and didn't have a car. After being frustrated trying to find an appointment on the crappy dmv site that wasn't 3 months ahead, I inquired Yogov on a weekend. YoGov responded a day later and found me an exam spot the following Thursday 8:30AM at Oakland coliseum (I'm from San Francisco). I booked an extra hour before my test just to get a warm-up and it was totally worth it. I received a few confirmation emails from Yogov and watched a few of their tutorial/tips videos. My concierge, Jose, came right on time at 6:30am on Thursday and picked me up. He was super friendly and obviously really knowledgable in driving. He was a great communicator and patiently answered all my questions. Throughout the ride, he gave me a bunch of tips and advice on my driving. We did a bunch of test runs around the Oakland DMV area and he was flexible enough to test me on things I felt I was pretty nervous for. I know how to drive but being able to freshen up on the rules was extremely helpful. I passed the test with flying colours and Jose promptly dropped me off back into the City. If I could give 0 stars i would.i scheduled a road test on 6/18 for 7/16. They took money. I messaged them on 7/13 to find out about my driver and was told they aren't servicing my area now. If I hadn't tried to check on driver I wouldn't have known. They said they would refund me in 10+ days. Now I have no way to take road test and no money to try and make other arrangements. Every time I had contacted them before they answered me right away now they won't answer me at all. And if you go on their website it still says they are serving my area. ITS A SCAM!!! Not sure if I got really lucky, but I requested a driving test appointment and yogov found one five days out from when I made the initial request, and it was at a DMV a block from where I work. Took the road test and passed first try, so that was also nice. Didn't try the concierge service, but the appointment system they have seems pretty legit. And it's free as far as I know (I didn't pay anything lol)? Would 100% recommend to anyone who needs their license asap, or who doesn't have the time to play DMV roulette every morning on the .gov website to grab a road test appointment at whatever random DMV has an appointment slot available three months out (for reference, I'm in the Bay Area and the next available road test app I could find was in *Tahoe*. Had a really bad experience with them because the driver who they sent as a conceirge did not have 1 year driving experience as per his license. I spent 45 mins driving with him to Brockton from Boston, then 60mins of driving and then another 45 mins back during a work day. The examiner denied the tests on those grounds which was the right thing to do. I didn't even find any other driving School in the vicinity that would take me up to be a sponsor in that short while. Later contacting Yogov took 15mins. Then on call they tell me that they were not aware of the rules for someone to be a sponsor in Massachusetts!! Which is ridiculous. Although, they returned my test booking $45 and gave me another free attempt with them, but I just find their answer stupid. After talking to the driver on the way back, he told me that yogov said 8months driving time on license is fine. So, they just lied to me on my face. I didn't pass my first driving test because my road test assistant was less than ideal. I didn't feel supported and lost all confidence that I was able to drive a car. Today I did my second test. I was a nervous wreck and when I got behind the wheel I almost ran a red light at a protected left turn. Juan, my road test concierge, did not yell. He didn't grab at the wheel, he just pointed out that it was a red light and we continued from there. I didn't make the same mistake again and the rest of the pre-test driving was great. Juan said that I could clearly drive a car and that the only thing preventing me from getting a license was my anxiety. While I did not pass (just before the test ended I accidentally rolled through a stop sign) I didn't go into the test anxious, I was able to be calm even through my mistake. YoGov really helped my pass my Behind-the-wheel test. I got an appointment for within 2 weeks and my driving school had no cars available for the day. So I turned to YoGov and booked an extra hour of practice just before the test. Edward, my driving concierge, came promptly 2 hours before my test and painstakingly showed me the entire route used for the driving test. He made me practice with all the tougher turns and the reversing. He did a lot to boost my confidence. And as I result my test was a breeze. I passed with barely 3 minor errors and the Examiner actually complimented me on my driving. Overall, I had a great experience with YoGov and Edward in particular. Highly recommended! read more

The original 1-star review was updated after further interactions with the YoGov staff *** The YoGov staff provided a partial refund after the original fiasco (malfunctioning car horn during the test, read below --) and booked another behind-the-wheel appointment for me promptly in a week at a completely new DMV. The new concierge driver was very helpful and clear with instructions regarding her car. However, I have only updated to a 2-star rating. I do wish I could have given the test as was originally planned, and near the DMV area where I had regularly practiced before the original test. While the new concierge driver was great, it would have been helpful if I did the extra hour of practice in the new car and gotten to know the new DMV area. But the staff mentioned I would have been charged extra for a practice hour (Even though I had booked for a practice hour the first time) and I was unwilling to pay more after my original bad experience. The short notice of the new DMV appointment (one day prior) did not help. I might be partially at fault here since my permit was ending soon, though this could have been avoided if I was able to take the test as originally planned. I guess there is only so much you can do. I am not familiar with other services in the Bay Area, but if you are completely new trainee like me taking the driving test for the first time (and having driven minimally in your life), I would recommend using the test services provided by one of the driving schools in the area. -------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW It was a horrible experience frankly. 1) The car horn did not work right during the test check. It was tested by two instructors (at two separate times) and the driver himself, and somehow it was not working during that area, and they automatically failed me. The driver later tested the horn again, on the drive back, and it was again not working. He had no clue as to why, saying this is the first time he encountered this. I just lost 200$+ and 4 hours of my time. 2) Please have drivers who know the terminology that is employed during the DMV test -- I asked the driver several times which is the "Emergency brake/Parking brake" (exact words) since that is one of the things that they check before the test. I knew where it was in Honda Civic, I had no idea in the Lexus. The driver mentioned first it was the Emergency Hazards (which is a completely different thing on the test) , insisted it was the Park mode (which was a separate button from the normal reverse/neutral/drive gear and is not the Emergency brake). Apparently, the driver was calling it something different which totally threw me off for a good amount of time. 3) Please provide an opportunity to choose the car for new candidates. I have always driven in Honda Civic, and this was a new car for me with completely different controls. 4) Please have drivers who know about the Santa Clara DMV and the area ... You serve a larger area, so only assign drivers that are from this area and not from San Francisco -- the practice drive before the test itself was me deciding whether to turn right or left at the last minute. It causes anxiety in a trainee driving a completely new car. At least ensure that stuff works and the driver knows the terminology. They did not allow me to take the test at all after the horn check failed, and it is a waste of time and money from my side (also since I have been practicing for a while now). read more

Please Please DO NOT EVER USE service. The service is a complete fraud with complete mismanagement at the top and a crippling infrastructure to support the requests. I paid for the service on July 12 for a lost ID hoping to get an appt confirmation in 3-4 days. On July 15, I got an email confirming my appointment for July 26. However, it was for registration of a vehicle. I VERY specifically mentioned that I need it for a lost ID yet they made a huge mistake in booking my appointment for the wrong reason. NO PROBLEMS ! On July 16, I emailed Wei-Ting to correct my appointment and specified that I have travel plans scheduled after July 26 and would need my DL for it. Wei-Ting and Tyler from Yogov emailed me back promising that if they fail to secure an appointment before July 26, they would refund my money back. Despite contacting them multiple times, they have failed to respond to me in addition to not booking an appointment. I had to go through so much trouble that I ended up changing my travel plans because of them. Worst customer service ever, and they even fail to deliver what they have promised. EDIT: --------- The founder of the company Ryder contacted me immediately after I emailed him. He apologized profusely for the confusion caused. He also refunded me promptly for the same. Thank You for your understanding of the issue. However, all this could have been avoided if the staff was prompt in replying to my queries. I was trying to get an appointment for my dad. He has dementia and I needed to change his Senior ID. When I booked on line with the DMV, they gave me an appointment in March. I then started adding different offices and nothing was earlier than March. I confirmed an appointment for March. That's when I saw a banner with YoGov. I paid my $31.50, filled out the application and said I work in retail and had these dates off and also gave them several offices that I was willing to go to. This was December 27 and on January 7th I received my appointment for January 17th at 140 pm. We were done by 225. Great service at the San Mateo office. We guarantee we will find you something within a week or your money back." I have waited a week, and the earliest appointment I was offered is over a month away. They then stopped responding to my messages and request for a refund, and are not answering the phone. I am happy to provide screenshots of my activity with them. Also...note that nearly all of the positive reviews on this company are from users with under 5 reviews on Yelp...very telling. Update: A refund has finally been issued, we'll see if it goes to the bank. A very easy and more ethical way to deal with this is to not charge people's credit card until an appointment is placed. I recently moved to the Bay Area for work and found out that I needed to get my California driving license. As I didn't really feel comfortable to ask a colleague to use their car for the behind the wheel test, I started looking for driving schools when a Google Ad of YoGov popped up. Their service amazed me. Not only did they help me book an appointment for my test within a week (regular appointment via DMV was not available for the next 6 weeks), but they also sent me e-mails to prepare me for my test. On the day of the test Khurrum, my driver (or concierge as they call them), showed up on time and briefed me on the test. He was able to give me some useful tips while I was warming up in the car. At the DMV, he helped me checking in and explained everything I needed to know to get the test started. Here comes the part that is out of control of YoGov: the driving test itself ;-) I luckily passed. 100% worth it. I booked the Yogov concierge service with practice. My test was at 10:40 am and I received confirmation that the driver would pick me up at my home address at 8:40 am. Kunal was there right on time and was so patient with answering all my questions and helping me practice along the various routes multiple times. He gave me several tips and pointed out instances where I was making errors. The examiner took me in the same route that Kunal had made me practice. I wasn't able to secure any appointments at any DMV offices in California until at least 1 month away. Due to my procrastination, my license was about to expire in 1 week. Signed up with YoGov appointment service. They were able to find me an appointment at my local DMV in SF before the expiration day. I arrived to my appointment and noticed the line without appt was out the building and all the way out to the sidewalk on the street. YoGov helped me avoid HOURS of waiting in line at the DMV. It's mainly an automated process but it worked, got me an appointment inside the time promised, and followup was great to remind me of my appointment. The DMV is completely different from what I remember - good friendly services, extremely well organized and efficient. But it appears that they only block out a small number of appointments and block the rest for walk-ins. The line at Costa Mesa was fairly long for walk-ins. So their appointment availability for my December license renewal was February so other than stand in line or have a service stand in line, this service is the only rational choice - I got an appointment in November for my December renewal. I would recommend this as the best option - sure you might get lucky on a walk-in and get in and out in 2 hours, but you just can't know if that might turn into 6 hours and there aren't enough chairs for 6 hours. I was getting a little skeptical because it was about 2 weeks before I heard back from YoGov. However, I opened my email on Friday to find they had found me an appt for Monday at an optimal early time in the day at the DMV closest to my house! When you walk into the DMV and see the line out the door and the sea of people filling the chairs, you will thank YoGov. A DMV staff member told me that several months ago, the wait was 7 hours without an appt. It's apparently better now, but don't underestimate the joy you will feel as you head straight to the appt line that has 3 people in it, while bypassing the non-appt line that has 35+ people standing there looking irritated and depressed. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes including processing my paperwork, taking a Real ID test and getting my photo taken (3 different lines). You do need to realize that this service is reliant on cancellations of existing appointments so there's also a luck factor in terms of the time and location you'll get. read more

Bryan was able to secure me the date for the 'Behind-the-Wheel' test that I have requested. He had secured me an earlier date but I have to cancel it due to personal reasons. During our correspondence via email, Eden was prompt in her response and assured me that the team is doing their best to monitor. Today, everything went on smoothly and I passed the practical driving test. Had I not engaged YoGov services, I would have waited more than 1 month to secure a slot in the DMV center that I prefer. I was hesitant to engage YoGov services at first but I still gave it a go. The fees are very reasonable and it is super worth it. I highly recommend YoGov and I will inform my friends about it. YoGov services came through for me when my Dad (love him to bits) decided to hold on to his renewal too long. Since he is retired, it didn't matter as much for me what day or time I got from YoGov's search. I can imagine this to be tougher for those with busy day jobs. I limited the search to Daly City and SF, and for an appt within the 10 days of my dad's "three weeks left". That's gravy for me and I will gladly pay the small fee for the convenience of my 81 year old dad. Who has time to stand in line? Even with appt, my dad still had to undergo a crappy 3.5 hour process at the DMV - who sucks by the way. As they are creating their own problems. Advertising YoGov on their website seems to convenient and I am convinced they are getting a cut of the fee. If so - that would sure be unethical wouldn't it? Bunch of frauds. If YoGov is independent of DMV.. then more power to you guys.. and thx for coming thru for my dad. First off, shout out to DONALD! He was the concierge sent for me by YoGov and honestly, these people have the best drivers you can think off.
