After an agonizing 25-minute wait, my expectations were high. But the first glance told the story, a thin, uninspired broth and limp noodles that looked eerily familiar. One bite confirmed my suspicion: this was less authentic ramen and more instant noodle survival kit, the sort of thing you whip up at home in 3 minutes when rent's due and you've given up on life. The broth lacked depth, umami, or any sign of slow simmering. It was watery, under-seasoned, and soulless, the kind of liquid that only makes the noodles soggy without giving them character. The toppings? Sparse and forgettable, as if they, too, had given up halfway through the meal. If Yoko wants to charge restaurant prices for ramen, they should start by actually serving ramen, not rebranded dorm-room noodles with a side of regret. Verdict: Skip it. We had ordered our bento box options from the lunch menu choices and we were charged the dinner prices. We brought it up with the server and their manager said outloud that there was nothing they could do because we had finished our lunch. The server says it was their mistake because they entered it incorrectly into the device, but the manager still said nothing could change. My husband and I finally decided to try this place and it had its good and somewhat lack luster things about it. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly while he ordered the Bento Box with Teriyaki chicken. I wasn't super impressed with the ramen since it really just kind of tasted like the noodles you can buy in the store. The meats and vegetables were great though. My husband was just raving about his dish. The service was absolutely wonderful and our waiter was very pleasant. So, overall I would definitely say we will be back. Went there for the first time last Sunday for a kids birthday! We all got separate checks because my son had to leave early to go to work! The food wasn't that good, I was surprised at the so called show for the food! That's not the worst part, I ask for my check, 35 minutes go by, I ask her to what was happening, she said since we came as party, her boss wasn't there and she couldn't print out the check until they arrived there because she needed to add an tup to the check!!! So 50 minutes have gone by and finally got my check! I was really upset and disgusted!!! I heard good things about this place so decided to give it a try for lunch one day and it did not impress at all. The sriracha onion rings tasted like regular onion rings. I ordered the hibachi calamari lunch. The lunch was supposed to come with sauce, the waitress asked did I want the sauce and had an attitude when I said yes. The calamari was too fishy. I never once got the sauce. I was asked several times why I did not like the calamari. I literally only had one bite a day was over it. The place was not packed and it still took well over 45 minutes to get our food. The service was terrible. I never got the sauce, she said there was an incident. She shouldve told me that rather than just leaving me waiting. This place used to be amazing! We'd go once a week cause the food was good, the customer service was great, and the price was right. Last 3-4 visits, the customer service has been unbelievably bad, the food is terrible, and to say the least we'll NEVER be back. Even tried to get something to go, and they blew that too. Food is decent BUT... they charge a food tax at the end of the bill that should be included in menu prices. When we asked about it we were told by our server that the manager was not in and the last time a customer asked about it the manager said "it goes to the warehouse". Terrible management of reservations. We had a reservation at hibachi for 6:40. We came in and when we sat down we were immediately told that we need to figure out what we needed to order because a party of 17 was coming in and they needed the space for them. We asked if it would be easier to move us but they insisted we not move. They made our food extremely rushed and our waitress dropped off to-go boxes immediately after we received our food. All the while a party of 17 was sitting around the hibachi table staring at us while we ate. The next time the waitress came along (about a minute later) she dropped off the check. We never even asked for a to-go box or anything. The food was good but we hardly got to enjoy it because of such the incredibly uncomfortable situation we were put into for no reason. A delightful lunchtime experience in Cypress! I took myself out on a lunch date to this restaurant on Friday, April 8. I was on the hunt for a low key sushi place that didn't require me jumping on the toll to Katy Asia Town. My family has been to this restaurant since it's grand opening since we live nearby but this was the first time for me to go by myself. I thought it was fascinating that they provided me with two sets of utensils when it's just me eating! Perhaps, it's rare for a young woman to dine alone at a restaurant in the suburbs? I quite enjoy taking myself out on dates whenever I lived in downtown Houston, so I found it quite fascinating that there were two sets of silverware as opposed to only one set whenever I dined inside of the loop in Houston. That being said, there wasn't many customers whenever I went around 2:40ish pm so I felt like I had the entire restaurant to myself. The food was not only delicious but it was presented in such a cute way! The avocado was creamy and the rice was cooked well. The shrimp was a great touch too! I liked how the chef presented my food similar to look like that chubby green caterpillar from Disney's movie, The Bug's Life. Talk about a fun throwback and great attention to detail! I ordered 2 of the same dish because it was THAT GOOD! The second caterpillar roll was even more chunkier because the chef included more rice. (Thank you!! I do love rice!!!) The only two reasons why I didn't put 5 stars on this review is because... 1. My waitress disappeared! I saw her twice. Once to give me water and then again for me to pay. I had to tell another waitress that I was ready to order and that I wanted a second order of my caterpillar roll dish. 2. There was this small fruit fly that pestered me throughout my dine-in experience. It was a turn off to see this small pest. Dishonest business. I ordered the hibachi filet mignon and when the chef was cooking my food I could tell it was not filet. I asked him if he was sure and he assured me it was filet. Once it was on my plate and I tasted it I was absolutely positive it was not filet... it was either low grade NY strip or sirloin. I let our waitress know and she sent the manager over.. who proceeded to tell me that they just never know what they are going to get from their supplier... which ok maybe that's true but don't charge me $36 for filet mignon if it's not. Aside from the steak, the service is extremely slow. We went in for an early dinner (5:15pm) and waited at the door for 5 minutes before being helped... another hour til the chef came.. I would recommend just going down the road to another hibachi restaurant. Their prices are high for low quality food & service. They have buttons on the wall you can push to get their attention but even that doesn't make them come take your order any faster. The pineapple fried rice is really good. The sushi isn't bad either. This place serves all types of Japanese food. However, we came specifically for the ramen, and so our rating covers just that and nothing else. Seeing there is only one brief mention of Ramen so far in all the previous reviews, we hope this helps anyone seeking out places to get their noodle fix. The restaurant offers 3 types of ramen: Tonkotsu, Miso and Spicy Miso. All ramen is priced at a reasonable $8.99. We ordered the Tonkotsu and Spicy Miso. Portion size is decent. Both types of Ramen came with the yellow springy noodles, which were nice. The rest of it wasn't that impressive. The Tonkotsu soup was on the thin side. There was lettuce, which we had not come across in any Ramen we have tried. The charsiu pork had a strong taste to it that should not be present if it was well prepared. The bamboo shoot used is the Vietnamese type that was heavily drenched in ammonia - we didn't really like that, as it reminds us of 'number 2'. Overall, the ramen here was relatively disappointing. The ambience and service was nice so we might come back, but it'll be for something else. read more

I learned my lesson not return my food @ this restaurant (if I ever go back ) if it's not what I ordered. I ordered Hibachi steak & shrimp. It was well done instead of medium & shrimp was cold. I tried to get someone's attention to explain what was wrong. Finally after about 10 + mins. one of the ladies tried to convince me that if I wanted a little pink I needed to say medium rare. She then wanted me to keep what I had because she said it was fine. I talk to another lady (maybe the manager) ... who took it back to the kitchen after she rolled her eyes @ me. When I got it back the steak was mushy, cold, & tasted funny. We never saw our initial waiter for a long time. He finally came back to get our payment & apologize then laughed & said he was being busy in the other room & that's why he hadn't been back to our table. We usually have good service & food here. First time here and glad we decided to try it. Brand new and contemporary decor. Music plays in back ground but not to loud. We ordered the Boston and Howdy rolls and they were very good and looked awesome. We also ordered sushi by the piece and some hand rolls. Price was good, service was very good and we will return.plenty of parking. They also have a hibachi grille, so next time we visit we will try that. Absolutely amazing experience! We took our 16 mo and they were incredibly nice and accommodating. The hibachi chef was very interactive and funny and the server was very attentive. I love this place. It's a little pricey but I don't mind paying if the food taste good. I definitely recommend trying the egg rolls. They are really good. Not so much the alcohol drinks. But the food is great. If you are new to the place I definitely recommend you trying the Hot momma roll. 10/10 taste really good. I'm not sure on the food. read more

We were literally the only people in there. It took 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Then we waited 30 minutes to get our food. The food was sub par and the restaurant smelled like mildew. The TVs even had a Spanish channel on so we couldn't even watch it while we waited so long. We had to leave quickly bc we were waiting for so long, then it took forever to get our check. They are also expensive especially for their lunch menu. Never going back. read more

If you're a Cypress native you will know our options for Japanese food are limited and our option for hibachi is a short list (Shoguns). I'm glad to see another hibachi/sushi place in town. We went on a Saturday night around 9pm and there were not a lot of people in the restaurant and not a lot of people at the hibachi grills. There are six hibachi stations total. We were the last to join our table. We had the side seats and I was thinking we wouldn't be able to see but it was actually a fine view. The wait staff was attentive to refills and requests. However, even being the last to be seated it took a while for the chef to come out. I believe only two chefs were working that night so that could explain the delay. Henry was our guy and he was great! We've been to several hibachi places and this place was has all the tricks: fire, onion volcano, rice catch and gags. Henry was funny and attentive. He said he's been doing this for 20+ years which is impressive. He kept the table laughing and the food was cooked to perfection. Yoko includes soup, salad, fried rice, shrimp, AND noodles with your entree order. In generous amounts, which is more than I can say for Shoguns. They hand out extras as well as to not waste food which I appreciated. Lastly, many people at our table refused the vegetables and Henry was nice enough to ask if they wanted him to pick our certain vegetables to eat. Several people did this and he took the time to cater to them which is not something I've seen at a hibachi place before. I would return here for hibachi and hope to see it fill up soon. read more

Paid my first visit here on a tuesday afternoon for lunch. First off, let me give credit when/where credit is due. Salmon nigiris can never go wrong, and the interior design of a Japanese cuisine/sushi restaurant are usually well invested into. This place deserves credit in both of those categories. However.... a couple of things put this place in a slight disadvantage versus other restaurants. Food:( 2.7 / 5 ) -Outlet Roll, decent. I would recommend this roll to any first-timers who may be looking for a nice roll with raw fish. Slightly over priced though. -Hibachi Steak, abysmal. Definitely needs improvement. Both my plate and my dine mate's plate weren't in hot temperature at all, just slightly luke warm. Flavor also bland, cold steak with mandatory soy sauce...ehh, not worth. -Nigiris priced at $2.25 - $2.75 a piece for Salmon, Mackerel, Scallop. Quality = pretty good. Unfortunately I know many other sushi places with good cuts of fish that I can get for cheaper as I am a nigiri person and $$ do add up when I order a lot. Service: (1.5 / 5) -After being sat at our table, we were approached by a waitress and were asked for our drinks with an aggressive and nonchalant tone. Honestly, I was surprised by this since service from most Japanese restaurants are usually very guest-centric and well-oriented. Moments later, she took our order with the same unwelcoming vibe. At this point, we decided that "let's just enjoy the food". Also, the purpose of having a button on the wall available for customers to press on for the waiter's attention should be more well enforced. The sushi chef had to walk from one side of the sushi counter to the other to tell a waiter to come to us. First visit. Nice restaurant, friendly service, good ambience. I came specifically for the ramen, so the menu was too big for me, but it's an all round Japanese place. I ordered pan fried dumplings, a tonkotsu black and a water (which came in a plastic cup, I don't like in a restaurant). The dumplings were fresh but not particularly tasty, rather insipid with a strong ginger flavour and a little greasy. The ramen wasn't very well presented, the char siu was tough and chewy and the broth was ok, very peppery which I felt was to help disguise the bland flavour. It came with lettuce and corn which was weird. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't rush back, there are much better ramen places close by. read more

We sat at a hibachi table (being a short person I liked that the table wasn't as high as the ones at Shogun. The kids didn't need boosters here.) The only negative is with the tofu appetizer. Tofu doesn't have a lot of flavor itself but the dish is served with a flavorful dipping sauce. For the Cypress area, good quality hibachi and sushi are hit and miss. Your only decent option is Shogun by the movies and they've become quite expensive for my family of 4.
