Yolanda's Driving school was a great experience for me. I had the 2hr lesson + License Test Preview and Rental package, and I passed my license test on the first try! I had my driving test at Pasadena DMV, and we practiced driving in and out of the DMV during the lessons. Christian and Robin were great instructors, and I recommend them to anyone (Thank you guys both :). Both were calm, but stern when necessary. I think most know how stressed and nervous parents make the driver(you) more nervous, so I'm letting you know that you don't have to worry about getting judged or put down. Also, their jobs are to provide constructive criticism, but you should always ask questions if you are unclear about something, get your moneys worth! Price-wise, I believe that Yolandas is a good deal. You get the professionalism, clean cars, positive motivation, and productive lessons all in one. side note : I am already a young adult and had a driving permit for 18+, the process will be different for minors. Also, I had been practicing before I scheduled with Yolonda, so you will definitely need more than two hours of lesson if you are just starting to drive. p.s. shoutout to Anna! I definitely recommend this driving school for beginner drivers, regardless of experience on the road. Yolanda is professional, encouraging, and a pleasure to be around. Her services are easily accessible, affordable, and of great quality. She is very knowledgeable and patient, so even if you make a mistake, she will be understanding and give you constructive advice on how to improve, rather than be upset/scold you or ruin your confidence. Did not text me or my child or call us after we made appointment. took 8 calls and many texts to get ahold of them. My kid's friend had a very similar experience, so it's not just us. The drivers have limited availability so scheduling is hard. ***REVIEW FOR FRED*** Fred was a TERRIBLE nightmare of an instructor for my kid. He kept driving FOR my kid, using his gas pedal and harassing my kid. He kept singing songs and was absolutely unprofessional with my kid. He kept touching my kids hands on the steering wheel and invaded my kid's privacy. I am not exaggerating here as I rarely write negative reviews unless they are true. This was a nightmare experience for my kid. My kid ran to me after the lesson and was absolutely disgusted and how they were treated physically and emotionally. This lesson was absolutely counterproductive and was extremely unhelpful and inappropriate. Fred's job is to be a driving instructor. Instead, he tried to be a comedian and instead found a way to make my kid extremely uncomfortable to the point where my kid had to text me during the lesson how terrible it was. My kid let go of the gas and the car was STILL going 40 miles per hour. My kid felt uncomfortable and could not do anything because the time frame was 2 hours. He was being creepy, and I am only talking about this specific instructor not any other ones. He kept bragging about how he has taught thousands of students how to drive, but was just carelessly talking and going off topic the entire time. So rude and unprofessional of you. Disregarding and wasting our time AND money. Also, he took my kid back to yolanda's office to get the 6 hour slip for the permit which is further wasting our time. Couldn't have just brought a slip of paper with you???????? absolutely outrageous. **YOLANDA REVIEW** she was okay. she is a busy business woman so she kept picking up calls and was laughing and chatting with people on the phone for a total of thirty minutes out of the two hours. Barely attentive and barely helped. I'm not sure why all the reviews are so positive for this driving school. All of my kids' peers that went here agree. Also really? You bought a snack when you brought my kid to the gas station? Couldn't you have waited until after the lesson to chat on the phone and eat? So unprofessional. I know Robin is an amazing instructor, however. Never recommending Fred to anybody. Replying to Yolanda's reply, Im not outing my own family and my own child's name for safety. I do not trust you with our information again. I do not owe you anything. I highly recommend Yolanda's driving school! I had an intensive lesson with James, Anthony and Christian and passed my test! All 3 were excellent, professional teachers, very clear in their instruction of what I would be tested on and encouraging! I didn't realize that you couldn't take your DMV test in a rental car and last minute Yolanda was able to arrange a driver and car for my test. I had a terrible terrible experience with my ex-driving instructor because i definitely chose cheap prices over quality. After the horrible experience, I googled so many places just to make sure I would have the best driving instructor to teach me how to drive/pass the test. My daughter has had lessons from other places and she complained that with other places, the instructors were very impatient and even inconsiderate. She did other places expected that she knew everything when it was her first time behind the wheel. I also got the package where they accompanied you to the driver's test and it was well worth it! My 18 year old son received his driving permit on December 14th. We called Yolanda's Driving School to schedule the six hour package. Up to this time my son did not have an interest in driving. After his first lesson on December 30th, Fred said he was a work in progress. His next two lessons were on January 5th and his last lesson was on January 21st. Fred did an excellent job in showing my son how to drive safely and the rules of the road. After his last lesson Fred scheduled a DMV appointment for February 9th to take his driving test. He passed and now my insurance just took a healthy increase. Thanks to Fred and Yolanda"s Driving School my son knows how to drive with confidence and he is able to pick up his sister after school by himself. This review is long overdue! I have been meaning to write this review, but since I have gotten my license now, I have been so busy! Let me just tell you I was never enthusiastic to drive and honestly did not dare too. I actually attempted a couple of times, actually 3 times at a previous place. I was not ready to drive yet as my nerves were holding me back. A few years later, I found Yolondas driving school and she actually worked at the place I had previously been taught at. All the instructors there were good, but I just wasn't ready at the time. Yolonda was one of the people that had helped me and I remembered her very well. She had always been so patient and kind to me. I had zero experience prior, because I didn't want to drive because of my fears. I would avoid practicing and cancel my lessons. This past year, with covid, it was kinda a blessing in disguise. I decided to turn a new leaf and attempt at driving again. Yolanda worked with me for like 3 to 4 months I think. She helped me with my specific needs. I wanted her to see where I was at, she wrote down what she observed and gave me the paper at the end of first session. I practiced weekly on my own before I would see her again weekly. Just like working on studying on one subject at a time. We did things over and over and would move onto the next only when we knew I was ready to move on. Then preparing me for the test, we practiced a lot and she helped me be fully prepared. I got my license about 6 months ago and I'm loving driving and I'm really good at it! I am so disappointed that I didn't get it sooner. Having my license has saved me so much time, and is so much easier now to get around and it is safer. Im also not spending money on bus fair or money on Uber's and such. Yolonda is also very sweet and funny and her personality will loosen you up and make you feel comfortable and welcome. Also she is very dedicated to making sure you are safe, herself and other drivers on the road. She really helps to prepare you not just to drive, not just to take your test, but to drive safe for the rest of your life. From the "look over your shoulders when changing lanes" to "making sure when turning right at a signal, make sure to turn your head to look over shoulders to look for bicycles" and "traffic checks". People can be crazy out there and she has really, really prepared me. Thank you to everyone that I have worked with in the past from the previous company to now, Yolondas company. Fred, Maria and the best of the best, the owner, Yolonda. Also special thanks to the secretary, Ana, who answers the phone. She always worked hard to find me appointments for driving lessons and was on top of her work to schedule me in and make appointments at the dmv, which got rid of extra stress! 1000% recommend Yolanda's driving school. As a person who was scared of driving and would get anxiety just thinking of driving I am so grateful I came across this driving school. My instructor was Fred, the patience this man has was so helpful to me. On my first day I was extremely nervous and I did not want to leave the parking lot where the driving is located so he was patient enough to let me drive in the parking lot that day. After that day I we started driving out on the street. It took a lot of lessons for me to feel comfortable, but it was worth it. I took my driving test last week and I passed on my first try. I can highly recommend him if you failed the driving test and not even sure why - you might never guess what examiner is looking for unless you are told explicitly. I am so glad to have found this school. I had no one in my house hold who drives or has a license, which made me look for schools to take lessons and to also to help ease my fear of driving.I did my research and found that this school had so many great reviews and affordable package deals that I signed up with no hesitation.
