Legitimately loved this vet clinic. (You're gonna want to keep reading!!!) I'm a first-time puppy owner and 3 days after I brought my pug puppy (2-month old) home, he started showing symptoms of Parvo, which obviously freaked me out. (And the Google search results that told me his survival rate with treatment would be around 60%-90% freaked me out even more) First, I took him a highly rated Yelp vet clinic that had an availability for him on the same day. Of course I know Parvo is very serious, but the technicians there made the whole situation very negative and made me even more nervous. They recommended me to either take my puppy to a 24/7 vet hospital which would have been crazy expensive (they would not give me a general price/quote for it either!) or conduct home treatment which they said will most likely not work. They didn't give me a third option. I'm pretty sure I didn't even get to speak to a doctor. I just felt frustrated and pessimistic about the whole already-stressful situation. However, I immediately called my friend whose friend worked at Yolo Vet Clinic, and she told me she recommended me to take my puppy there for a second opinion and for more transparency on Parvo treatment prices...and everything is now history! The Dr. Bulkeley and the technicians at Yolo Vet helped me and my pup so much. As soon as I got there, they kept me feeling optimistic and positive, and by ensuring me that I caught the symptoms early and calming me down. They gave me a clear picture of what their non-24/7 hospitalization process looked like, and gave me a realistic price estimate. Before, I thought Parvo puppies could only survive at a super pricey 24/7 vet hospital (being misled by the other clinic) due to the low-ish survival rate, but I had no idea how fast my puppy would get better and recover under the care of Yolo Vet! He came home after 3 days and the technicians gave me specific instructions on how to continue to support his recovery! But of course do keep in mind that each puppy is different and have different immune systems! To say I'm eternally grateful would be an understatement. I loved and appreciated their transparency, optimism, friendliness, and professionalism. Their app also helped so I could contact their technician if I had any questions. They don't rush you out of your appointment, are able to give honest quotes quickly and are very accommodating. My cat, Winx, seemed to like everyone there as well! I used to love Yolo Vet, but since the new owners took over, the place has gone downhill fast. It's clearly under corporate control now, and the focus seems to be maximum profit over animal care. My recent visit was a mess: the entire front office was covered in visible mold, the exam room was filthy with dog hair everywhere at 9 a.m. (before any real appointments), and they were severely overbooked with drop-off appointments, leading to long waits and rushed service. They tried to upsell unnecessary services and charge for things that felt pushed just to pad the bill. It's heartbreaking to see what was once a caring local practice turn into this. Corporate greed has completely overshadowed any love for animals. I won't be returning and can't recommend it anymore. Find a truly independent vet who puts pets first. read more

Took my dog in to be Euthanized. Staff was amazing and caring. The front desk lady gave me a big caring hug on my way out. The team gave me all the time I needed with my dog in her final hour. They called and communicated the process well and didn't charge an arm and a leg like many other places. I received a card from staff a week later, including nose and foot print. Dr.Hsu was a blessing to have in me and Kashs life after I was taken advantage of by a vet in January, I was recommended yolo vet by the owner of the "pet shop" in vacaville. Dr Hsu neutered and performed boas surgery on my 4 year old French bulldog Kash and answered all my questions through email while I was considering to do boas surgery or not. Didn't pressure me one way or the other just laid out all the facts and her personal experiences and allows u to come to ur own conclusion. I would recommend to everyone if I could!! Late yesterday I had two family pets euthanized here - one male, one female. When scheduling, I was told both would need exams as they hadn't been seen there for 2 years. I informed the receptionist that the male had been in the previous week for exam - including x-rays, leukemia test, etc. ($450+). The female has been in when young, and they told us it was a male, which was proven untrue when at home it later became pregnant. At that time SHE tested negative for leukemia. I said that if she needed quick exam prior to euthanasia, that was ok (why do exam when they're going to be put under in 10 minutes?) Receptionist or helper (not sure) came in room prior to procedure, had me sign papers and pay for procedure ahead - was given no copy of invoice. Neither cat was removed from it's carrier for ANY kind of exam - No weight, temperature, eye, ear, stomach, mouth exam. We were asked a few questions about them was it. The cats were taken to back and catheterized for syringe/euthanasia procedure. When I had the invoice e-mailed to me today, I had been charged exam fees for both cats - extra $115 on a $380 bill, when NO exams had been done. I had been extremely upset by the plight of my two pets with leukemia, and feel like this clinic's main focus was on getting the most they could out of something that was tragic - at my expense of course; very disappointing for a veterinary clinic. read more

I am very frustrated, emotional, angry and sad. I've been taking my dog here for 11 years. It was always been good at first. When I travel, I'll always check on my dog. They'll let me know how my dog was doing. Recently my family and I went to Hawaii and dropped off my dog for boarding for a week. I called a few times and they told me my dog was good. Came back from Hawaii and picked up my dog and felt something was wrong with him. He was in a lot of pain, he doesn't eat or anything)z very unlikely to see my dog not moving, because he's in pain. Because usually even if he's sick he still play with my kids. This time he wasn't doing anything at all. The next I called and left a voice mail to asked what happened?! I left my number for them to call me back. No one returned my call. Finally I called again and they answered. They want to set up an appointment after my daughter explained what happened! But my dog couldn't make it to his appointment because he was with my daughter. She's at work. They told me to call them back maybe my dog will get better afterwards. We took my dog to emergency because he wasn't moving at all. They gave him medicine for pain. He's got fever of 104* I just need to know what exactly happened to my dog the day he was left for a week. Why is he in a lot of pain?! Why is he not eating?! Why would they tell me he was okay when I called, when he wasn't okay when we picked him up? I called again and left them message to call me back and asked them to check my dog today. I brought my pug in due to breathing issues. Wonderful staff, honestly can't say enough about them. The vet tech that did the initial checkup was kind, patient, and listened to my concerns. The vet came in shortly after and did a more thorough check up and explained in detail everything that could be causing his issues. The care and kindness of Dr. Hatt and her team is unparalleled. My family recently lost our beloved Rottweiler in a very tragic way. He had been under their care for routine vaccines and neutering and they were always amazing, accessible for questions, responsive, knowledgeable, and exceeded my high standards of care for my animals. When we discovered that he had passed I called in a distraught panic trying to get any help I could. Dana, their extremely professional receptionist, answered. She was calm, patience, and most importantly, let me cry and helped me process the shock of suddenly losing my dog. We at first didn't know what happened to cause his death and after exhausting all contacts to get answers, Dr. Hatt agreed to help us get the answers we so desperately needed for ourselves and our two young boys at an extremely reasonable cost where others wanted to charge thousands. In the shock of everything I didn't think to collect a paw print until his body was already rendered to their care. Today, I received a beautiful condolence card, with his paw prints. I'm not a regular client here, but when my cat was having an emergency this was the closest clinic to me and they were able to fit her in within two hours of my call - which is pretty remarkable. Dr. McClung, Geneva, and the other staff who helped me were thorough and communicative. Unfortunately it turned out that my cat had cancer and I chose to euthanize her. The doctor and technicians explained my choices and supported my decision with compassion. We've been going to this vet for 7+ years and it recently changed owners. Since then the service has gone downhill. The new owners nickel and dime you for everything. We recently had a spay performed and we specifically told them we did not need blood work or a post surgery neck cone and they charged us for these anyway. They also charged us and gave us an absurd amount of pain medication, which was not necessary and not returnable. They charge you without giving an itemized breakdown, so you don't know what you're paying for. When confronted about the charges, they tap danced around and only refunded us for the cone, which took forever to do. We decided to take our business elsewhere and found out how petty they were by not approving a prescription dog food we've been getting through them for years. We have nothing against the vets, because I think they're good at what they do, but I think they need to work on their business practices, because their billing is deceitful. read more

Don't ever use this vet for boarding!!! $300.00 later and 4 days of boarding. I come back from my trip and go to pick up my baby (2yr.old golden retriever) I go to the counter and they act like everything is good. Take my money and get my doggy. At the very last minute as im getting my dog. They tell me that my doggy had anxiety and was rubbing his nose on a cage door. Completely trashing his nose is more like it. He'll probably have a permanent scar. So now my akc registered always taken very good care of sweet doggy has a permanently jacked up nose that makes him look very different. They didn't try and call me at any point throughout the 4 days. ( i would have had my dog picked up or sedated) so he wouldn't harm himself and permanently scaring himself. Yolo vet was completely irresponsible and have treated me very very poorly. Keep in mind that im a long time customer as well. This is the treatment i got and my doggy. DON'T USE THIS VET!!! I am not trying to bash this place I just wanted to let people know (and also maybe the vet) to not trust this place as your only source of diagnosis/advice. A couple of years ago I woke up to my dog not being able to see out of one eye. Her eye was very cloudy, swollen and I could tell she had no vision in that eye(she has never had any eye problems). First time in, saw a male veterinarian. They didn't see any puncture wounds on eye so took blood test and sent me home with eye ointment & antibiotics, told me come back in a week. When I came back Dr Beckley says she was allergic to medication & it make here eye worse, so we try different medication. Send me home & tell me to come back in a week. 3rd time back, male veterinarian takes my dog back for 5 minutes (without me, which I don't like), comes back and tells me "they don't know what is wrong with her. Take her to a specialist". So 3 weeks and over $1000.. nothing. Take her to a specialist, within 5 minutes of us in the exam room they tell us she is permanently blind due to glaucoma and if we had brought her in 3 weeks ago he could have saved her vision. Mind you this entire time her eye pressure(which is supposed to be 25ish) was over 80! My poor baby probably had a pounding migraine this entire time & I was just rubbing ointment on her eyeball. My dog got cut by some barbed wire out at the ranch. This isn't the normal vet we go to, but it was the closest to us from the country and we wanted to get somewhere fast because the bleeding was heavy. We called to let them know we were coming and they were right there to grab him when we walked in. We were updated as treatment was given, he was stitched up and cleaned up quickly. I was surprised how fast and easy it all felt. And not that any emergency visit is "cheap," it was a lot less money than we were expecting to pay. He was sent home with meds and will return again to get his stitches out. We will probably back to this vet for his regular care. Thank you Dr. Hsu and staff! Keep doing what you're doing. He was diagnosed and had to have 2 complicated surgeries. Dr. Bulkeley along with her entire staff are the best of the best. This clinic is amazing! The staff has always been very friendly and the care they give the animals is personal and loving. I adopted a cat from this clinic and they took a little extra time to get to know me to make sure he would be a good fit. I adopted him for a low fee of $50 and that was with him being neutered, and given all of his shots. Recently I had four kittens given to me by a coworker who couldn't take care of them. I fostered them until 9 weeks and the Yolo Veterinary Clinic has come to my rescue and now has them and they will soon be up for adoption! This vet is super awesome! They took on an abandoned puppy with PARVO when no other vets would. They saved her life and worked with the community to find a forever home after treatment. After waiting 5 weeks to pick up my beloved pets remains I was very disappointed to find out that the stone I had ordered did not put her2 front paw prints to be put on the stone and received just her name on the stone. My cat unexpectedly passed and It was very important that I have her paw prints and now I can't. They use treasured pets or regency in Sacramento and I don't know where the error occurred but it was not caught at the office even before I picked it up. I made sure to ask them over and over when my cat had passed and they ensured me everything would be handled correctly. I opened the boxes before I left and found the error and brought it up to the office manager who answered a call in the middle of the pickup and helped the person on the phone before addressing my issue. There was very little remorse and I would not recommend this hospital or the agency they use to take care of your pets in their final moments. I'm furious! My experience has been very positive and I really really like the Dr and felt immediately very trusting of her. I had been very concerned about taking my 18 year old cat to any vet after our previous vet diagnosed him with hypertension and prescribed heart medication...I was concerned his heart couldn't take the drive. Well, he is not remotely hypertensive and he is doing amazing. They also have been incredible with my 8000 questions about a feral cat I accidentally fell in love with and take him at a moments notice when he needs treatment. Dr Laurie Bulkeley and her staff always go out of their way to welcome my dogs, they feel loved and comfortable with them. I use their boarding services frequently. My dogs are pampered by Dr Bulkeley's staff. The dogs are actually excited to go to The "doggie spa". First time ever boarding any of my babies. Chose Yolo veterinary clinic Main St. Woodland CA because I didn't see bad reviews and their boarding fees were reasonable. Very very disappointed. Guess you get what you pay for. Will never go back. They ruined a bag of raw dog food. Never read instructions said they didn't know about raw dog food. Possibly feeding my dog tainted raw food because it wasn't kept frozen. Used their own dog food without my knowledge/permission and when my dog developed diarrhea they gave her medication that they charged me for. Was told they threw out the brand new yoga mats provided for my senior dog because they were dirty. This unacceptable as they were washable. Get home have msg they found them. Now special 1 hr round trip to go get! Vet suggested nxt time provide written instructions. SIGH. I had & told her that. Staff appears to be llazy & not up to par as anticipated. Impression they just hang out instead of doing work they couldn't get to. The time I had to spend getting the dogs in (even tho all paperwork in order almost 2 wks prior. Picking up a nightmare. The staff was so nice from the moment the phone was answered to when we left. They got us right in and were very compassionate to us and what we were going through. This place is a joke! We had our 4 dogs going here, for years, spent hundreds of dollars to make sure our "family members" are in good hands. That's not the case here. We travel with our dogs and we were never told about Grayson having a congenital heart failure or that his eye had an ulcer... for atleast 2 years. We only found out after Grayson had 2 strokes while traveling and had to put him down at a 24/7 Pet Vet in Fresno. It was the worst experience for us and his siblings. The Doctor was excellent at this location and educated us on what was NEVER diagnosed by this inadequate vet, Yolo Veterinary. Took in my little sister's male Cat in, after a Significant amount of weight loss, and was very lethargic . Turns out he had gotten an infection, most likely from cat fighting. The Vet got him on Antibotics and within a week, he was full of life again. I am grateful to the Vet that saved his life. I see that people are complaining about pricing... they are reasonable.... Yolo Vets has been very helpful and friendly during all are visits. Recently we had to put our family dog down. The Veterinarian Dr Willits and his assistant where very supportive and compassionate during our difficult time. They did not rush us an allowed us to spend as much time as we needed before and after, even though we has a examination room tied up for about a hour. They were very comforting to our dog too making him as comfortable as possible. But this was not the only time that they where helpful and friendly. Other trips to there clinic they showed the same concern for the pets we have taken there. My dog has severe separation anxiety and they were very patient and willing to help me figure different techniques and or medication that would work to soothe him. We have been to other local Vets and have found that even though this is across town it's worth the drive. Our dog had a severe knee injury and after $1,000.00 and misdiagnosis for 2month he was getting worse. We took him to Yolo Vet. In minutes the Dr knew exactly what was wrong with him and treated him. She has given him the necessary follow up care for months now which has been easy. At this point, we haven't spent half of what we did else where. Our little guy is finally back in action almost 100 percent and we are so greatful to Yolo vet. Every time I go into the office I note a sign that is clearly posted no restrooms available, my guess is the office is small and it is for your safety.
