So this spot was random and it was just a stop off from going to another spot but I feel like if you're going to be in the area, you may as well do all the things. You'll come in and park and you'll have all the views of the greenery and the grapes, which is a really nice setting. Came in and there were some people at the wine bar and they immediately get to work. They were talking about the wine specifics and they were super friendly. It ended up ordering a flight and you get to pick several flights from the menu and they'll bring it to you. Now the flights were not specific so you could pick anything off of the menu, just about. You didn't have to stay within a certain range but there were a couple of off-limits ones. That's not a big deal because they had plenty of options. I stuck with the dry reads and they did a really good job with those but there are still plenty of options for everybody, quite honestly. There's an inside and an outside to it but I ended up staying inside by the bar in the corner just to check out the scene. There were plenty of people coming in and out just to buy wine as well because they have wine for sale obviously. It was really a full-service operation there and everybody was so friendly. It felt like it was a family-oriented situation there. Overall the experience is pretty good. I don't have any complaints about it and if you're in the area you may want to stop by. Three Sisters was part of my North Georgia winery dilly dallying. I had previously visited them in 2020 (yes I know, I know) and wanted to come back to see if everything was the same. When driving up to the venue I was confused because for some reason I don't remember driving up a long winding road, but then again, last time I didn't drive so there is that. Three Sisters is a very electic place, set on a wide stretch of land with plenty of grapevines. The staff was nice and explained each of the wine choices. They had quite a few sweet options so for those that prefer a sweeter wine, this is your place. I did the $25 wine flight which is more than enough to get a good feel for what they offer. It's a beautiful property offering all estate grown varietals and wines. They have both an indoor tasting room as well as a fantastic, covered deck overlooking a little lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but after pouring your selections and bringing them to your table, they were a bit hands-off. My wife and I shared two "Pick Four" tastings so we could maximize our exposure to their wines. Unfortunately, most of the wines were not suited to our palates, but other patrons seemed to enjoy them immensely. Everyone seems to enjoy the Fat Boy red blend, and my favorite was their Georgia Port (fortified dessert wine) which was so smooth, complex, and quite delicious. As I always say when it comes to wines, what I may like/dislike may be completely different than you, so I recommend you give them a try for yourselves. Beautiful setting, interesting artwork and relaxed surroundings. The owner is hands on and shared the history. A large variety of wine, however our focus was on the reds. Really enjoyed the Joe Pye red and Cabernet Franc. Distinctively different and would pare well with the owners description. We opted to purchase a bottle and the three of us shared it while talking and enjoying the warm spring afternoon. The wine was great. I'm not sure what I think about the tasting room here. Service was good though a bit hands off. I am curious as to why they're using stemless glasses?. Yes, they're less likely to fall over but as you handle them, you warm the wine. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and there were maybe 5 cars in the parking lot and we noticed the barn was closed. We were celebrating a friend's 60th birthday. The owner met us before we reached the door. We wanted a shady spot to drink wine and open presents and have cupcakes. He told us we could not bring in the cupcakes which is crazy. We attempted to move around some seating under the patio because there were 9 of us and he said "oh no that won't work" then tried to put us in the sun on picnic tables!! We asked our driver if he could take us to Doghobble which was the best decision. This is the 3rd negative experience we've had here so we will not be back. No surprise there were only 5 cars there. Was with a large group of ladies for friends 60th birthday. Our driver was trying to arrange sitting in shade for us. Greeter said he couldn't move furniture ! Well, this wasn't part of our scheduled stop but I'm glad we found this place. Three Sisters is located right behind Frogtown Winery (same driveway) and isn't a huge place. Very limited on selection and seating. However, they were open and taking people w/o reservations. Parking isn't huge here. They basically have a very small tasting room, with an outside patio attached to it overlooking a pond. I'd say it could probably hold 45-50 people, counting inside and out. You start at the register and pre-select the wines you want to taste. It's $20 per person for 4 tastes. Not cheap but not expensive. They give you a number and then you wait. The pours are about 1/3 the size of a normal glass of wine, and come in nice little stemless glasses (we bought two of those for $5 each). You can also purchase bottles of wine in the shop, snacks and glasses of wine. I tried the Merlot, Cab-Franc, Chardonnay (Unoaked) and Pinot Blanc. The Cab-Franc was my favorite followed by the Pinot Blanc. The Merlot smelled amazing but was too light for me. I wasn't a fan of the Chardonnay. We decided to order a full glass and I got the Joe Pye Dry. It was certainly my favorite of them all. They also served up wine slushees. My gf loved the Georgia Cuvée Sparkling (it was delicious and fruity). They have an open barn here too where you can sit and order wine, plus hear live music. We did make our way towards the barn and enjoyed the scenery from the grass. Overall, a nice experience and very pleased they were open after we drove to visit Kaya and Frogtown with no success. Took the kids to Consolidated Gold Mine for the morning, the afternoon was for the 'rents... One of us had been to Three Sisters Vineyards a while back - think bachelorette event - and remembered a large field. Well, since we had 5 kids in tow, a large field was ideal. Today there was live music by Mike Chaett - solo guitarist/singer. He sang some of the classics and honestly, it was background music to my gang. Five kids are a little loud and require a lot of attention, so while I cant remark on him, I do recall Mr. Chaett was a great vocalist/guitarist. There was also EggRoll Boyz food truck in the lot feeding the masses. Ok, review on them to come next, but let me just say I appreciated the food truck in the lot. It's nice to have substantial food to snack on while tasting wines. Ok, back to the vineyard...my husband is not a "white wine" guy so I got him Blood Mountain Red - it was hot out and I felt like he needed a red that wasnt "heavy". Blood Mountain Red was delicious...slightly sweet, but still a little more solid than a white. I got the Pinot Blanc to begin with. Delicious, slightly sweet, not dry...yum. The girls left the boys with the kids and went into the Tasting Room for a break. We did not wear our masks inside the tasting room, but the part of the staff had theirs on. We ordered the flights...$20 for 4 tastes. The Chestatee White was my favorite.. "Blend Of Pinot Blanc And Vidal Blanc, This Crisp, Off-Dry White Wine Is A Crowd Pleaser.  With Similar Qualities To A Pinot Grigio, Chestatee White Has Notes Of Apple And Honeydew.  You Don't Even Need A Reason!" We were so happy to be able to get to a winery after driving all the way up to Dahlonega as the first couple ones we passed were either closed for a private event or not taking any more customers. A catastrophic success! Crowded, so it is very difficult to do a tasting. My wife and I stopped by twice and were told we would have to wait at least a half hour for a tasting the first time and the second time we were told if we wanted to "taste before we buy" we needed to come back another day. Key for us, since we don't buy wine without tasting what we are getting. Not to mention, plenty of other wineries to try close by that have it together. Get it together, Three Sisters! You may be successful now, but it never lasts with poor service. read more

Three sisters was a must stop on an afternoon wine tour with my two sisters (which makes us the three sisters). My youngest sister lives in Cumming and has visited most of the wineries in Dahlonega and likes this one and of course, it was appropriate for our tour. We did not realize they closed at 5:00, so we only had the opportunity to have one tasting of five, but did enjoy that. We tried the two chardonnays, a bubbly rose, and two reds. All were quite nice. The lady behind the bar was very nice and I am sorry I cannot remember her name as I write this review. We also bought wine glasses and a bottle of wine to remember this visit. Due to the fact that we were so close to closing time, we did not get to really do much outside the wine tasting. We will come again when it is warmer and arrive earlier. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. We reserved a table for a birthday--and planned our day around it--and were immediately met with the poorest customer service I've ever encountered. The owner (or manager) told us we shouldn't do flights--only bottles--to which we responded that we all like different things so some of us would like to do flights. We were then told there was "no room" for us. We tried to ask why--and all we were told was "only order bottles or there's no seats for us." I don't know what kind of business model Three Sisters has, but they just lost out on 9 well paying customers for no reason whatsoever other than the owner's (or manager's) bad attitude. read more

Ive been coming to Three Sisters for years and I am sad to say it has definitely lost its charm. Some girlfriends and I decided to make the trek from Atlanta for an afternoon at Three Sisters and the neighboring winery. I am unsure if due to the Winter Season if they just weren't prepared for the odd sunny, 55 degree day we had in January but they definitely where not prepared for the crowd. Driving in to the vineyard is magic. Flowing mountainside views with soft, green grass, rows of tangled vines set amongst mature trees and shabby chic barns. My brother and now sister-in-law got engaged at the gazebo at the top of the hill. Like I said, the scenery is magic. Upon entering the tasting building, we went straight to the check-in register area to order our taste flight. There are 3 options and each "taste" comes with a complimentary Three Sisters wine glass- stem or no stem, your choice. The lady behind the counter had just finished explaining the 5 taste option and was moving on to the 4 taste option when my friend laughed and said with excitement "we'll take the five!" The lady cut her off by saying "let me finish." We can read, we saw the options below offered less "taste" opportunities but instead we decided to let her finish her sales pitch. We paid $15.00 each for the 5 "taste" option and bellied up to the bar. When I used to come here the taste was much more of a heavy pour, today, a taste is exactly what we got. You get 2 sips, not 2 chugs but lady like sips. If I want to see if your wine is good I don't need a sip like Im drinking hot tea! I immediately felt ripped off. They give you an oversized white wine glass yet they barely give you any wine. There were little to no crackers in the baskets and, compared to last time, the bartender didn't clean our glasses after each wine sample. We didn't expect to get sloppy drunk but we also expected and anticipated a great afternoon enjoying wine. We were only in the taste room for 20 minutes. 3 of my friends didn't buy wine before leaving but 2 did- 1 bottle of something they wanted more than a minuscule swig of. Unfortunately, that meant heading back to the slow check-in counter only this time we were silent! Before we left I wanted to take the girls to the top of the hill to see the view from the gazebo. Upon getting to the top of the hill the walking path to the edge of the hill where the gazebo is was blocked with rope. A large sign was next to it "no picnicking and no trespassing." Bummer. Big bummer. My friends had never been here and I foolishly I talked up this place up all week only to leave apologizing to them. What a waste of $15 and an afternoon. read more

We are fortunate enough to live in the area, and have been meaning to get by there and check out their wines. So when I saw they were doing a special tasting that they only do one weekend of the year, I knew it was time to hit it. What is this special wine, you ask? They have 2 dessert style wines, one is Georgia Port and the other is an ice-style wine. The Georgia Port was very velvety and tasty, but $43 was a little steep for our pocket books that day. Part of the reason for the big price tag is that in order to fortify the port, they have to transport it to NC and then, after the 5 minute process, bring it back to Georgia! Hello, GA, wake up and help the wineries! The ice-style wine was good too, but we decided to save that purchase for another day. The tasting room was run very well. When you get there, you are greeted and put on a list for tastings, then when there's space at the bar, your name is called and you go up. Its not a cluster like just down the hill at Frogtown! The people behind the bar were friendly and nice. For $20 per person, we got a nice glass to take home and a choice of 4 tastings from their selections, plus the 2 special dessert wines as well as a taste of a new wine that they are selling in a refillable 4 litre jug, its called the Georgia Jug. So that makes 7 tastes for 20 bucks with a glass, if you're keeping score. The Georgia Jug is a red table wine made from a blend of a few varietals. An interactive wine experience, you get to stamp the label and help fill the jug. Fun! We liked it enough to go home with a jug, and the jug came with 4 tiny wine tumblers with face jugs on it. Also, the tasting room is very approachable and is filled with folk art. Lots of face jugs and primitive style paintings by a Georgia artist named John "Cornbread" Anderson. As cool as his work is, I should have taken some pictures of his artwork that was around and for sale. The girls behind the bar are friendly, and the choices plentiful. There is truly a wine for everyone. I really wish they would start a wine club like the other surrounding wineries. First, let me begin stating the wine was great. Their menu had many wines to choose from. We chose Vidal blanc, and Cynthiana. one white, one red, respectively. They claim they are dog friendly. So before you bring Fido, we couldn't find any trash cans to dispose of waste, at least far enough from sitting areas, or Any stations that provide plastic bags. Fortunately, we had our own. They claim to have dog treats behind the bar, which she did not have. No water was available either. I have been to other establishments where bowls were provided with water. They do not condone bringing your own snacks as signage states they want you to purchase their selections. However, the only food available was a bag of artesian crackers or Cheetos. Wow, not what I expected. For first time guest, signage was not available to direct you from the parking lot to the tasting room. I Waited on long line only to find out it was not the tasting room. Honestly it was 50/50 guess as there were only 2 buildings to choose from. service at the bar was great. The tasting area was outdoor and limited to a few tables. Therefore, we were told expect 45-60 minute Wait time. For the space available, I thought they could provide more tables outside in order to comply with covid and the amount of guests and decrease wait times. While Napa and Sonoma wineries have gravitas, here in Georgia our wineries aren't taking themselves too seriously. The goal is good, drinkable wine for all palates - we're not overly concerned with impressing Wine Spectator acolytes. Three Sisters Vineyards hits a home run for me. They're conveniently located in Dahlonega, Georgia - no more than an hour drive from central Atlanta. Each weekend in June, Three Sisters hosts the Georgia Wine Festival, with wine tastings, live music, food and a host of wines to taste. The events draw laid back crowds and - because Three Sisters is dog-friendly - their canine companions. Their tasting room isn't large but is well laid out with a sizable bar/tasting area and a few tables and chairs. Three Sisters also has a wonderful patio overlooking a small lake where you can relax and enjoy a glass...or two...or three. Over the last year, Three Sisters Vineyards has added a new sparkling wine, the Georgia Cuvee. This wine deserves your attention - it's semi dry and absolutely marvelous alone or with food. Their Chestatee White, their Chardonnay and their Vidal Blanc are good choices for a white wine lover, while their Cynthiana is an excellent choice for those who prefer reds. I also highly recommend their Georgia Port. In keeping with their fun and funky vibe, Three Sisters also has a few wines that would be irresistible from the labels alone, but that are good table wines in their own right - Fat Boy Red and Fat Boy Pink are red and rose respectively, and 43 Pound Possum is a white table wine in a large bottle. Laugh at the names if you want, but these wines are eminently drinkable and pair well with traditional southern cuisine. If you've not visited our Georgia Wineries, there are quite a few to choose from but I recommend you start with Three Sisters Vineyards. Good wines and no pretentions. read more

After having a great experience, I had an employee approach with a mobile card reader to pay. The ticket came out and she said goodbye. I said, "wait, where is the tip option?" She politely said the machine doesn't allow it. I said then how do you get tipped? She said she usually doesn't. As a business owner, I said why is that? She said, the owner doesn't allow it for some tax reasons. I gave her a substantial cash tip for one wine flight. I am sad that these employees don't get a little extra for such good service. I visited Three Sisters on 4/22/17 and had a blast! It was the 4th stop on our wine tour so I was pretty exhausted by then but Miranda and Hannah made our tasting so much fun. I loved the barn set up for the tasting which gave my group of 11 ladies some privacy. Miranda and Hannah kept us laughing while really educating us on the wines we tasted.
