I have prescriptions that have to be monitored and maintained, and I also have a very painful issues with my arm. I don't think either can wait for August 18. They are two separate appointments and they won't combine them: one is "to establish care" and the other is an illness visit. Once I see her as a "wellness visit" on August 18, I would be able to "get in quicker" to see her in the future. For now, if I'd like to be seen and monitored by "someone else" who has more availability in their schedule I could do that. Well, I've had a terrible experience with a doctor in Chicago that left me with ongoing medical issues that could have been prevented. So I did my research and selected someone I felt I could trust. I was so very lucky to have that in New Orleans (from where I just moved) and I just wanted that again. I don't really want to see "someone else" that I don't know anything about and waiting 6+ weeks to see a doctor I researched heavily. So while I can't really rate Dr. Boyd herself, this is a warning to those who are looking for a doctor: even though her site says she is accepting new patients, I don't think she really has time for them. Be sure you can wait six weeks before seeing her if you choose her. I get why she's busy -- she's good. But why advertise that you're accepting new patients when you really don't have time for someone who needs you?

When YOU realize that they have overcharged you and decide to…read morecall, they WILL have documentation of the overcharge (that they apparently had no intention to refund despite there being LAWS regarding REQUIREMENTS OF MEDICAL FACILITIES TO REFUND OVERPAYMENTS WITHIN 60 DAYS.) I realized almost 1 year later, called and spoke to YEN. It has been (3) MONTHS (so 14mo since overpayment for services) and I have made at least 4 calls, most with the aid of an Insurance Advocate. Three times YEN told us they had to send to the Manager and once FRANK said they'd process the refund to the CC from which the original payment was made. Now, I am being told that because it is from the prior year that in order for the refund to process, they would have to reimburse the WHOLE AMOUNT (to the credit card) and re-charge the correct amount, in order for the refund to be issued. THIS IS ABSURD! It's a measly $15.20 and they can't cough it up and write a check??! And THEY KNOW THEY OWE THE FUNDS!!! He gave the name and number of this so-called "Manager" at the request of my Advocate. After disconnecting with Yen, my Advocate and I updated the records of this latest collection attempt, and she will provide Grievance papers so the situation can be presented formally to UHC. I was advised that the matter should be reported to the IL Atty General Health Care Bureau 877-305-5145. This will be my next step. We will NEVER step foot in this office again!
