I came to Daniel to get a vertical labret a few years ago, and after he approved that I have the right anatomy, he talked me out of it after noticing I have a habit of chewing my lips. I cannot explain enough how grateful I am for that, and he explained that I could possibly hurt myself and even mess with the piercing as it heals, and cause it to migrate. We ended up doing my second lobes instead and the experience was extremely quick and easy, and probably the most pleasant piercings I've had done in my life. I just saw Evette today, as I was having a bit of a piercing emergency. A month ago, I had my third lobes done at a different studio and that piercer used these rubber/silicone backings instead of the standard flat backs, and had them shoved so far up the piercing my ear had no room to heal or swell properly. After 4 weeks of agony (even compared to a blackout sleeve and nipple piercings), I came to One and Only today to see about getting these changed out. Evette managed to pry the balls off, and I mean they were on so tight that at some point she had to yoink that shit off like King Arthur, and after about 45 minutes of working on them both of the bad, old piercings were off and I felt comfort for the first time in a month. This whole time she explained what she was doing, and was extremely sweet, professional and empathetic. Her daughter (I believe her name was Emily) was with her training and I don't know if I could've gone through that experience with anyone different. Ultimately, we couldn't save one of the piercings as the pressure wound was so bad Evette did not feel comfortable with the risk of putting another earring in. (pics of the wound below, trigger warning as it is gnarly) I was given very clear and explicit instructions on after care and invited to come back to repierce it once the area is completely healed. Evette and Daniel are both honest, and it's so so clear that they care and have a passion for the people they work with, as well as the art of piercing. They could've easily sold me a vertical labret and a second piercing, but they cared for my well being more than the money they could've easily got out of me. This level of honesty and integrity is something I have yet to come across again in the industry. I don't think I'll visit another piercer again as long as these two are in business. Turns out you can't be mad at two things at once! As a small business owner myself funnily enough, I make use of my own personal creativity and do not cheapen my work by using shortcuts. Two or three years ago we weren't using AI to this extent and everyone was just fine. Canva may use AI, but there's a thing called OPTING IN. All in all, as someone with integrity and appreciates genuine artwork from real people, I won't be returning-- especially with the repeated unprofessional responses from the owner. The tattoo/piercing shop has wonderful reviews and a ton of happy patrons. The vibe in this space is very lowkey and homey. We were the first ones in for the day.   My best friend and I wanted to get complementary tattoos. We only wanted three words in Seagram each with my best friend getting hers in black and me getting mine in red. We were told it would cost extra for red ink. Fine.   After the woman working the front took the stencil print-outs to the artists, she came back and quoted us $200 each. What? We were shocked. I knew the tattoo wouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes and did not understand how my friend was quoted the same as me if "red is extra." Thus, I came to my own conclusion that pricing is completely random and up to the artist. I guess it's a game of luck?   That being said, Carlos did a wonderful job on my tattoo and Hannah did a great job on my friend's. Carlos and I had a lot to talk about as we were raised in the same city and he went to my highschool while I was also in attendance. Wild stuff!   Still, for what we got, I wouldn't have paid more than $150 + tip for this tattoo. There needs to be a length requirement or some rules and regulations for pricing (I know this is not easy). Just know you're getting very talented artists when you walk-in!   Bring your wallet!

As an artist myself, I understand an artist needs to enjoy their work and want their name on their work, but tattoos are mostly highly personal to the customer and you're doing a service for a customer - that's why tattooists get paid and don't pay the customer to ink their favorite designs on the customers body. Why is writing a name in black ink better than giving someone a super meaningful, deeply personal white ink design? I wasn't requesting a hate symbol, I wanted a reminder to trust myself - salt is known for purifying and protecting, infinity is eternal. Having a tattoo no one but me knows is there still serves its purpose for me. I'm still looking for someone who will work with me on this tattoo before I consider others. It was the first tattoo I ever wanted and I'm not doing any others until this one is done. The final insult: "come back when you really know what you want, we'll get it done".... Which was very large (half back, shoulders and half sleeve). She took my idea and worked with it over a few days and drew something up. She showed me and instantly said yes. We book the sessions and over the next few months it came to life. After the final session I was more than happy to get more done and tell more of the story. I am now finishing up my second tattoo full chest to continue my story and she was able to do all of it and design another amazing piece to start telling the rest of my story.
