I was referred to your office today - I travelled with my daughter for a consult on the subway for 1 hour I paid for a dog sitter was on time - even early for my 12:45 appt and waited in your office for 2 hours with no explanation I was told at one point you would be 6 more minutes that turned into 40 minutes. I was clearly upset I wasted my time my daughter missed school and your office still hasn't apologized or explained why you never came to do the consult. The lack of respect for people's time is outrageous I don't care how good of a surgeon you are you don't do that to people. I was recommended to YOS by my dentist and orthodontist for a corrective jaw surgery. Really happy with the treatment and standard of care received from Dr Meisami and the rest of her team. My jaw surgery went incredibly smooth and I'm very happy with the results. I wish I had the surgery earlier just to have the results sooner - it has been a great change to my smile and bite. She is highly experienced, is a master of her craft, and treats you like a member of family. I was extremely disappointed in my double jaw surgery experience with Dr. Meisami. My jaw surgery took several hours longer than initially estimated, and I was placed in ICU overnight. My estimated blood loss was 1300 ml. My jaw surgery continued the following day and I was returned to ICU. My estimated blood loss was 100 ml. Ultimately, I was very unsatisfied with my results and went to a different oral surgeon. It's been a very long road. Going to Dr. Meisami is one of my biggest regrets. read more

No, I was not a patient... actually, I came here to pick up a friend. The dentist was really nice and overall very friendly. My friend who has four wisdom teeth removed seemed happy with her services despite just undergone surgery. Also, the secretary was nice too and generally helpful. And I found the decor soothing and waiting couches are all so comfortable. Secretary also helped me get the prescription from the dentist to get the prescription earlier, but I failed. Make sure to get the right insurance information first before your friend goes into surgery. :p After service: They called a cab for us and the dentist walked us down and wheeled my friend to the cab in a wheelchair. :D read more

During the consulting session, she told me to take out all 4 wisdom teeth even only one of them had issues. Her reason was "since you're getting sedated anyway". Once I refused, she quickly ended the session (which only lasted for 5 minutes despite the fact that I waited for almost an hour and took half day off for that). One week after the surgery, my stitches came off at 1am and it started to bleed non-stop -- for 6 hours. I was so scared and didn't know what to do. Eventually I had to go to the Dental Emergency Clinic to stop the bleeding. When I went back to Dr. Meisami for post-surgery check up, I demanded to see her to find out the cause of bleeding. Her nurse said she was too busy, so I waited for almost an hour and finally caught her in the hallway on my way out. The first thing she asked was, "Why didn't you call me when it happen?" I said I didn't know about the emergency contact they told me after the surgery (after I was sedated). Then I handed her the Doctor's Notes from the Emergency Clinic, and she was like "I can't even read what he was writing.. " and just threw it back to me. All-in-all, I think Dr. Meisami shows no compassion for her patience, and doesn't care about them when she sees no profit. If I can give her a zero rating, I would. read more

In order to get my wisdom teed extracted I have had to walk into this place 3 times total. Each time I walked in, I was not greeted by the receptionist. I was kinda just left there for 5-10 minutes before being addressed. The first time I walked in, I was asked to refill out all of the forms that i have previously filled out online, because somehow they did not receive it. Getting my wisdom teeth removed was probably the only good thing i have to remember about Yorkville Oral Surgery. The surgery was flawless, and everyone there was helpful with getting me to my designated driver safely. My appointment following the wisdom tooth extraction is probably why I will not recommend this place to anyone I know. From the moment I walked in I was left waiting without any explanation. I waited about 15 minutes to be seen by the nurse. The nurse then taught me how to clean the wisdom teeth extraction site. I then waited for 20 minutes to be seen by the doctor who, looked in my mouth for 30 seconds than quickly stated that everything was fine, and left. The Doctor seemed to be rushing, and seemed to lack any compassion for the customer / patient who had to wait 40 minutes past their scheduled appointment to be brushed off in 30 seconds. read more

When my 9 yr old daughter was diagnosed with a ranula in her mouth, I started researching oral surgeons, looking for the best one out there to operate on her. Dr. Meisami's name kept popping up and after meeting her, I can see why. She is very thorough, knows her field intimately, and is an informative source who answers all and any questions that a worried parent might have. And she is kind and gentle and immediately puts kids at ease and answers any questions or concerns - no matter how silly- they might have. Dr. Meisami did not rush us into surgery. Instead, she opted for a non-invasive approach first and only when that didn't work did she recommend surgery. Her Yorkville staff was thorough in prepping us for the upcoming procedure, with Serena explaining all the minor details. The surgery was scheduled promptly -within 10 days - with the option of doing it in the clinic or the hospital. My daughter had another ongoing health concern, which Dr. Meisami and her staff kept track of diligently. The surgery went off perfectly and Dr. Meisami provided us with lots of advice on how to manage the stitches in my daughter's mouth, even giving us her contact info, down to her personal number, to contact her if we needed to! The nurse even called us the next day to check on my daughter. Dr. Meisami just cleared us after our follow-up with her a week later! I had a terrible experience here. The reception staff are not welcoming at all and make you feel stupid when you walk through the door. I had to wait upwards of 30 minutes for the three appointments I had regarding the extraction of my wisdom teeth. On the first consultation I was left alone in a room to watch a scary movie about the wisdom teeth surgery and I felt scared and anxious about the surgery from start to finish. On the day of my surgery, the Doctor was held up in emergency surgery, which I understand, but I was only told after 45 minutes of waiting. This was terrible waiting, especially because I was already anxious about the surgery. There was only one nurse, Irina, that was exceptionally good at her job, but all other staff were unfriendly at all times. After the surgery I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and I was in pain for three weeks. When the Doctor prescribed me different antibiotics and other medication for my other side effects, I wanted to voice my concerns about taking more medication because I really didn't want to, but she cut me off and prescribed more anyway. She made me feel so small. I unfortunately had to go back because I had part of my tooth sticking out in an irritable way, the Doctor did not administer the local anesthetic correctly, and she removed the piece sticking out in an archaic way. They have been calling and calling me for a follow up appointment, but I have not been answering, because after that experience, I vowed never to go back. read more

I was so glad that Yorkville Oral Surgery took me in in such short notice especially during Christmas holiday season when a lot of dental clinic close from before Christmas until after the New Years, Yorkvillen Oral Surgery remained opened!! My wisdom tooth has been bugging me for almost two weeks and there was just no way I could wait till after the New Years, it even prevented me from going to work. Anyways, the staff were very friendly in explaining all the details. Dr. Ebrahimi took time in going through all the questions I had about the surgery very patiently and offered a lot of remedies in lessening the pain during the process. This appointment was only supposed to be a consultation but he ended up took me in to do the surgery on the same day! The clinic is located inside a building on 7th floor and it's very cozy and quiet. Everyone was friendly and professional. I am totally not impressed with Yorkville Oral Surgery. I had a hole in a tooth in the area of a bridge. When I went to Liberty Village Dental, Dr. Carr drilled/filled the tooth. Unfortunately, the filling fell out and was re-done 3 times with no success. The treatment discussed with Dr. Carr was to have 2, possibly 3, implants done - in the bridge area, 1 tooth was missing, 1 tooth (the one where the filling kept falling out) needed to be extracted and 1 tooth was loose. He recommended that I see Dr. Meisami to get her opinion. I saw her in March, 2017 and was told only 2 implants would be necessary. I had the bridge removed by Dr. Carr and the tooth extracted by Dr. Meisami in April. I had a quick checkup of the area in May and then was told not to come back until July. Thinking the area would be healed and I'd be able to get my implants done, I returned to Dr. Meisami in July only to have molds and more x-rays taken of my teeth. The extraction had already cost $1300 and now I was being charged another $480 of which only $66 was covered by my insurance. I was told that she would be in contact with my dentist and they would advise me of the next steps. Not hearing anything for a couple of weeks, I called Yorkville to find out the status of my implant surgery. The office is always busy so you generally get voice mail and have to leave a message. At any rate, I was told that Dr. Meisami had been/was (?) on vacation but they would get back to me. After 2 1/2 weeks, while wondering whether I should call again, I had a problem with my jaw where it seemed I "dislocated" it while eating a sandwich. I had been chewing on one side of my mouth for the last couple of years due to the problem with the teeth in the bridge area. I called Yorkville and advised reception of the problem with my jaw and also that I was still waiting to hear about my implant surgery. The receptionist advised that Karen (?) knew about my status and would call me back. After a couple of hours of not hearing anything, I called Dr. Carr's office at Liberty Village to find out if they knew anything. As I expected they were waiting for me to hear from Dr Meisami. I told them about my appointment in July over a month prior but they had not received any further x-rays or other information from Yorkville since March!!??!! I eventually received a voice mail from Karen which indicated what Dr. Carr had mentioned several months earlier regarding the extraction/implant of the (3rd) loose tooth! Who's making the recommendations regarding next steps? Seems like nobody. After being "relieved" in March by Dr. Meisami that I would only need 2 implants, it seems that I may need 3 implants as suggested by Dr. Carr (so approximately $15,000 instead of $10,000). And to think I gave up an appointment to see a different dentist regarding implants and a possible grant to reduce the overall cost. I'm definitely going to re-look into getting the grant AND a second opinion. read more
