These folks were amazing! I was on a visit to Yosemite NP and a crown popped off during flossing. I Was worried, butI showed up to Yosemite dental first thing in the morning and they were so incredibly helpful and were able to fit me in. The vibe here was great too. Such a pleasant experience today! Friendly, easygoing staff, office is warm, very human. Jamie my dental hygienist today was gentle, fun making me laugh--xray tech Margarita was so quick, gentle, even counted down the number of xrays left. I had major tooth pain while on vacation to Bass Lake. I called all the dentists in Oakhurst, but with no luck getting an emergency appointment. So, I could either travel north towards Mariposa or go down to Fresno. Yosemite Dental Care was able to squeeze me in and help me with my tooth ache so I can continue my vacation. The facility was clean and the staff were all kind and friendly. Unfortunately I needed a root canal done by an endodontist, so the dentist recommended that I take some antibiotics until I could get home to my dentist and get my root canal done at home. Within 30 minutes I got my prescription at Rite Aid, (which was right down the street), and I was back on the road to continue my vacation. Within 24 hours the pain got better and within 36 hours the pain was almost completely gone. I would highly recommend this dental care facility to anyone needing to see a dentist. read more

I really wanted to like this office and do business with them on a regular basis. Unfortunately, my experience has been a series of repeat errors and continual frustration. Starting out, beware that the office charges a surcharge of 3.5% for using a credit card. So, you fill out 10 forms when you are a new patient and somewhere in the fine print this is mentioned. Then, you check out and it is not included on the bill so you don't think it pertains, why would you? Be aware: You sign something that has no "fee" and you leave. Then your card gets charged the fee and they say oh, it was posted all over the office. This is deceptive. Then, for the actual treatment, I pay for a nightguard, they try no less than 6 times to get it right, with numerous trips back and forth from El Portal to Mariposa, time off from work, etc. and they still haven't created something I can use. I paid $300 and I have nothing that works. This is a simple, simple product to create. Other dentists have given it to me free as I wait. Why is this so problematic? I'm just super disappointed with the finances at all cost approach of this office. I'm fine paying for a product but to-date I have NOTHING to show for my $$. Very disappointing. Look at the other 1- star reviews and you will see a similar pattern. Thankfully, I did not invest thousands to learn the business practices of this establishment. read more

I know that there have been those who have spoken very highly of this dental office. To be very clear and transparent I am going to give you my experience with this office. A year ago I went in for dental work and was determined that my upper and lower teeth would have to be removed. This was broken down into two phases phase 1 and phase 2. Dr. Tom told me that if I paid cash I would get a 25% discount and yet when I went out to make another appointment the staff behind the counter told me that in order to get a discount I had to join an inhouse dental plan that cost another $290.00 for free cleanings and yet ALL MY TEETH are coming out and therefore cleaning is NOT needed. After that experience it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I was already spending over $20,000 on my dental work and then to add this to my bill didn't go very well with me. I went in for my first visit and paid with a check because my debit card was being replaced and the next visit was on a Monday and I received a call on a wednesday prior to my Monday appointment that I would have to come and make my payment prior to Monday. This was all confusing at the time having to do with making a payment with a pre written check prior your visit. to any of the work being done or by debit card I never heard of prepaying for a visit and again this didn't go well with me. The work that Dr. Tom did on my upper teeth was with NO PAIN ever and was certainly appreciated by me. At the time Dr. Tom gave me my two treatment plans He had told me that I had some torids to be removed and that he used to do that procedure but not anymore. As we were going along and I was receiving my soft liner to my upper teeth I went in one day for a cleaning and when through the owner came in and told me that I should be coming in at least every two or three weeks for my soft liner. As time went on my appointments for my soft liner became farther apart. At the same time I was getting more and more knowledge and after reviewing my second phase I found that it was completely inadequate and therefore the costs were drastically incorrect, I was now calling for an appointment for my soft liners and also asked for a new phase 2 and was told that Dr. tom would be getting back to me. I did this on two occasions and never received a call back. I asked for a call back from the owner but NEVER received one and instead I received a letter in the mail. !This an unbelievable way in handling this problem. I have paid for work that hasn't been completed. How you are supposed to communicate is beyond me. Having you to even request for you to come and pay for work hasn't been done yet is absolutely the improper thing to ask for. I also found that charges I was being charged for in my phase 1 and 2 plan were much more for the 25% discount. Think of it this way if I am getting a 25% discount on exorbitant pricing then it is like getting NO discount at all. I would like to say there was a lot of confusion, lack of communication, lack of knowledge between office staff and management. This is not how I pictured this year to go with my dental care. I have asked for a refund for work that I paid for that was not completed. read more

Yosemite Dental Care - General Dentistry Near Me - Mariposa, California

Today was the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist's office. I received a text to remind me of my appointment, I called to cancel since I did not see myself spending more money and wanted to just get them to repair the cracked bridge that was just a few months old. I did not get to speak to anyone, left a message but no call back. I only got a call back when they tried to change my appointment from 9:00 to 11:00 then to 3:00. I got to speak to Dr. Karen who consulted with Dr. Tim and persuaded me to re-do with two crowns and an implant instead of repairing the bridge and just top up the balance due for the implant. Fine, right? No, I went in as scheduled at 9:00, was supposed to have bridge cut off and while waiting for crown have the implant put in and then complete the crown. Reason for wanting to have everything done today was so that the top part of the crown could be completed together (I had another implant put in just 14 days ago). Dr. Allison did a great job and then Dr. Tim who was supposed to be putting in the implant decided to work on another patient and had no time for me. Dr. Allison said he would try and fit me in after the crowns were put in but instead I was scheduled to December 17 instead. Question is why is your time more important than mine? Why was the other patient who was supposed to have Dr. Allison working on her more important? Was it because she was white and I am not? I was and still am livid about this. I have never seen a dentist being so high and mighty. So I called after I left and was still fuming, got his wife, Dr. Karen, who apologized but having his wife apologizing to me was not right. I demanded a refund and honestly, I would not recommend using Dr. Tim ever, not even to my worst enemies! Its been 10 hours since I left the office and I am still fuming. read more

I never thought I would say this in my lifetime, but I love my dentist!!! I have had several procedures and Dr. Karen, Dr. Tim and Dr. Tom are all my heroes. I am currently out of town, developed a serious infection and then prescribed an antibiotic to a pharmacy for me. And the office staff, Amanda and Kay are so sweet, kind and efficient! I have only had positive experiences at this office. Dr. Tom has been my dentist for over 20 years. I do buy the annual plan which includes cleanings and necessary xrays. I am lucky in that I have not needed any hugely invasive work. read more

The only dentist that has ever actually cared or tried! I've been in constant pain for the past decade, I haven't been able to find help from any dentist until I came to this office, they don't like to give out painmeds no matter how much pain you're in. Which blows my mind, so as a result I had to spend 200.00 on painmeds on the street, otherwise I would have thrown myself off a building from the pain. Aside from the whole not caring about being in pain aspect, they are a great office. Just don't expect them to care if you're about to off yourself from severe dental pain. So I have to say that I am their #1 fan!!!! I have been given the best gift in the world, the road to a new smile. The last time I had been to the dentist I was 16 years old and let's just say that did not go do well. I came in for a cleaning(in which I've never had one in my entire life) and left with a promise of a beautiful smile in the very near future. Dr Tom, Dr Tim and Dr Karen are the most amazing dentists I have ever met in my entire life. My life has been changed because of these 3 amazing people.
