out to salisbury looking for trouble (etchings, actually) and found this instead. yea for this!! not sure how I got turned around leaving downtown and it really doesn't matter except that there I was lost and hungry... after a quick search Yelp resolves half of my issues by pointing me here so here I went. yea Yelp!! a few minutes later while rolling down main street I come across Yostie's beckoning me in with scented promises of hotdogs and pepperoni rolls... Kind of a little nothing of a place in the best possible way: insufficient parking up front (but plenty across the street) simple painted signage on the building, stainless steel counters, and commercial baking racks. perfect!! Menu boards are hung at the register with descriptions and prices and all that stuff but somehow I'm not making any sense when it's most important. I managed to figure out that the two dog lunch special adds chips and a soda for a buck and a half so I went with that... plus a pint of chili... and a sack of cheese rolls. found my soda, found a seat and a few minutes later my lunch found me. butcher paper wrapped dogs were loaded down with a fine-textured beanless chili and onions in typical carolina fashion, oddly enough slaw is not an option here (yea virginia!) unfortunately neither are relish, tomato, dill spear or sport peppers. still, chili dog is a nice change of pace. finished lunch, bussed my table, figured out where I was and got headed to where I needed to be with a sack of cheesey yeast rolls and a pint of chili in tow. and so, fully provisioned, I called it a day. read more

I love little divey, hole in the wall type places like this except for this one. I am giving them three stars because they have really good homemade cheese straws and cinnamon rolls. As for their hotdogs, which by the way are my favorite food, I do not care for theirs. Their homemade chili is sweet. Sweet chili isnt for hotdogs or it isnt for me, one or the other. Their all the way is mustard, onions, chili, they dont do slaw. If they did I would forgo the chili and go with slaw but they dont so I quit going. I tried multiple times to like the hotdogs, I just cant. Their chili comes in mild and spicy. They have a 5.00 special that is 2 hotdogs, drink and bag of chips. Use to get 2 bags of chips but they cut it back to one. Not sure why though probably money. If you eat in there you can refill your water or tea cup multiple times otherwise you get a canned drink to go. They have short hours every day they are open to begin with and I wont even post them because I can go by on a day they should be open and they arent so good luck. If you love good cheese straws and xinnamom rolls, this is your place. If you are like me and lo e a great hotdog, we have better places around the area. read more

This tiny place, located in Faith, NC ( several miles outside Salisbury ) apparently started out as a bakery, and then added hot dogs, and other items. They make an interesting hot dog - and it is interesting because of the home made chili they put on their hot dogs, and on their spaghetti, as well. They advertise that the chili is made fresh daily using 100% ground beef and spices, nothing else. The chili comes in either mild or spicy, and is among the thickest, meatest chilis I've ever run into. Even the mild chili is pretty spicy for a hot dog chili, and the spicy version really has so heat to it. As I said, this is an interesting chili dog, and would make a nice change of pace, but the chili simply dominates the dog, and it is all you taste, especially with the spicy chili. Dog goes for $1.75. The Pepperoni Roll is a thich roll (slightly larger than their hot dog bun) with 4 or 5 strips of pepperoni encased inside - tasty, but mostly this is about the bread. Sells for $1.50. The Pasta Salad consists of spaghetti, olives, veggies, and a slightly sweet dressing - ok, but the sweetness becomes cloying. The chili on the spaghetti (Cincinatti style) works better, but still will dominated the dish. Interesting dishes from a nice little, family run place, is a beautiful, little town. You could make a much worse road trip. read more

This is a great small spot that the locals go to. We love getting the cinnamon rolls (they have 2 sizes of rolls), cheese straws and pepperoni rolls. This place has all the makings of a Great place a good location , Low over head , family owned and operated . But.... here is the thing what is it? A Hot dog Joint? A Bakery ? Have been several times, I personally enjoy the pepperoni roll. If you eat it there get it with cheese and sauce... Yum! Usually with buy some and take them home and slice open and bake with some cheese. Delicous. Prices are great for pepperoni rolls and hot dogs. The cheese straws are also delicous but I thought a bit over priced, but if you want want to take the time to make them yourself then it is worth the price. Ohhh and the HUGE cinnamon rolls are sooo good! Buy some, take them home, then throw in microwave for about 15 seconds to warm, Yum! The people are friendly, nice and helpful. Have not had the hot dogs, but I have many friends that have and they say they are good, but not great. Worth eating especially for the price. If you are in Faith, stop in! read more

I drove all the way from Charlotte for the peperoni rolls after finding these guys on google, and boy did I make the right choice! The two gals inside were super friendly and since I called ahead of time they had a fresh batch out of the oven for when I got there. Ok I really hate leaving 4 stars rather than 5 stars. I (we) absolutely love this restaurant. They have amazing spaghetti, pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls etc. HOWEVER, I just went in there and they have raised the prices SOOOO much. I understand increasing a little over time due to food cost but a 30-35% increase on the whole menu is quite excessive. Again, I LOVE this place but the prices are really going to cut down on the amount of times we go to have lunch or pick up dinner. Bummer. read more

Yosties is the BEST place in the state to get cinnamon rolls. They are gooey and loaded with cinnamon and sugar and the bread is homemade and perfection. These are some of the nicest people and make the most delicious food. The pepperoni rolls are also amazing. Their bread is hand made from scratch daily and you can definatly taste the love baked in. The best Chili dogs in the Southeast. We moved from Michigan (ChiliDog Capital of the USA) in 2003 to Florida and discovered Yosties in Tallahassee which recently closed. We were not disappointed stopping by on our trip to North Carolina at the original Yosties. The dogs were awesome. Not to mention the pepperoni sticks and World Famous Tea. Ok this place has a rating of 2.5 stars which is way and I mean WAY to low. This place is what it is......... A great place to eat!!! The hotdogs are to die for and yes the chilli overpowers the hotdog a little but that's what makes any hotdog is what you put on it...... Otherwise you would just order a plain hotdog. Yostie's has great food, great deals, and is a great place for everyone in Faith as well as the rest of the county to enjoy. I go to college out of town but any time I come back home for any type of break or just a random weekend, I am always sure to stop by Yosties! I personally get hot dogs, pepperoni rolls with or without cheese, and always some cheese straws which are the best around! My family often gets chili beans and cinnamon rolls to go with what I usually get, and the tea is delicious also. If you don't like tea, there are tons of can soft drinks to choose from for only 75 cents! Not sure where Joseph is used to dining, but Yostie's is incredible and nothing like he portrays it in his review! To top it all off, the owners are terrific people! Ok, after getting my last review pulled (because YELP said I didnt follow guidelines), I will try this again! Yosties is a wonderful place to eat. It is a very laid back eating establishment and bakery. The food is absolutely amazing!!! This place has the best 5 bean soup, hot dogs, and spaghetti anywhere around...PERIOD...not to mention the homemade cinnamon rolls!!! You can leave completely stuffed including drink for 5.00 (you can even get free refills on the soup!!!). How can you complain about that? I usually eat there 1-2 time per week. I was introduced to pepperoni rolls by a friend who originally is from West Virginia. Always enjoyed those any time I was in the Charleston WV area. I never imagined that there was a source much closer to home here in North Carolina Yostie's is the source for the pepperoni rolls here. I won't necessarily say that they are better than any there in WV, but the convenience of not driving certainly makes them attractive. I'm never actually had anything else there at Yostie's other than their pepperoni rolls. Just never went to pick those up at a convenient meal time to try the hot dogs, etc. Will attempt to try those and add on to the review later. read more

Well, not everyone will agree with me, however, I think this quaint little eatery that is tucked away in the very rural Faith, NC is great! I love their homemade chili. Their hotdogs aren't top quality, however they are not the sawdust dogs of yesteryear. They are limited on the variety offered, but that is to be expected with a small town eatery such as Yostie's. Not sure what some folks expect when they stop here as they pass through Faith, but, I know that I have yet to be disappointed when I stop their for lunch. Come on in and try it. Small place with great personality. I normally expect little places in small towns to be kind of dirty but Yosties is super clean and very cute. We have enjoyed the delicious cinnamon rolls several times now but still need to try the hot dogs. They're closed on Sundays and Mondays. The people are great and very helpful. read more
