Minnesota friends if you are ever moving do not use a company called, You Move Me or they might be calling themselves 360 Wow Inc. now. I had a box of vintage, high end pennants lost/stolen as well as damaging my recently redone floors. I had agreed on a settlement with them and they declined to honor it. They sent it to their insurance company for the floors, and I told them if they went that route then I would wait until their independent contractor and would take what he said the damage estimate was. It was ten times the original agreed upon settlement and now they are responsible for that. The insurance company said they are only responsible for the physical damage to the floors and that the company was responsible for the lost/stolen items. I've reached out to them at least five times and they are ignoring me. They are a worthless, cheating company. I already reported them to the Better Business Bureau and now I'm considering filing a small claims lawsuit against them. You lost /stole part of a life long collection that I worked long and hard to collect. I won't let you get away with it and I hope my Minnesota peeps spread the word so this lousy, morally bankrupt company can't do it to someone else. read more

********DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE******** I was shown an estimate, including packing help, the morning of the move for 5-6 hours of service. I would be charged per hour. It ended up taking them a shocking 12 hours, and my bill was over 3k. I never would have agreed to this job had I known it would have taken 12 hours. You Move Me manipulated my entire moving process, causing my final bill to skyrocket. I believe they did this intentionally and that I was scammed. You Move Me's packing help involves crew members packing items into boxes and charging for each box supplied. Most of the boxes they charged me for were almost empty; several had only one small item in them. They packed like this to steal even more money from me, using as many boxes as possible regardless of my actual need. The boxes were packed without care. Items inside were bent and crumpled. Almost all fragile items inside boxes they packed were not secured or wrapped. Our new wood flooring was deeply scratched, a cabinet shelf was broken, our deck surface was scratched in multiple places, doors and door frames were damaged, both washer and dryer doors were scratched, our large antique mirror was shattered, collectors puzzle tins were dented and their contents mixed together inside of a cabinet. You Move Me's packers were expected to pack the contents of all cabinets before moving them, but failed to do so. A side table that should have been emptied by them was full and shoved in the van upside down, damaging items inside and now the drawer will not shut. Various other items were damaged. I am devastated that items we took such good care of are now in terrible shape. Our new home does not look new anymore due to the crews' negligence. One of the crew members was resting in the truck and another who had cut his hand was trying to work with one hand super slowly. One of them was video chatting with a friend; another texting constantly. The crew dragged out the time this way. I was still charged per worker, per hour, regardless of their speed or skill level. After a lot of back and forth, it was requested I sign an agreement promising not to take further action on their company in return for 50 dollars and the replacement of 1 mirror. I responded that I would not be signing the agreement. I'm trying to get my money back with the help of the Better Business Bureau, but it's a struggle. The bare minimum of a refund won't even cover the cost of all damages. The company wants to send out a handyman. There is no way a handyman can repair a completely shattered mirror, deep gashes to wood flooring, scratched glass, collectors puzzle tin dents, etc. I've told them the handyman cannot fix my issues, repeatedly, but they keep pushing it. They're saying if he can't fix anything, they will reimburse me 60 cents per pound of damage. How can they get away with this? You Move Me did not perform to the quality promised on their contract. They delivered an abysmally inaccurate estimate and horrifying service, while inflating my total charge unethically. I was deeply disappointed -- this company came recommended to me by a friend after the great experience they received, but unfortunately, the people who moved me were rude, unprepared, and ended up losing screws and breaking multiple pieces of furniture. I wanted to be able to give these guys a good review because the movers--Joseph and a group of 3 others--were very friendly and kind. They had been scheduled to come on a Tuesday but called me late that Tuesday to let me know they were running behind and rescheduled for the following Saturday. When they arrived at my house in the late afternoon they told me because they had to cancel the job on Tuesday and because it was getting to be late in the day, their boss was providing a 4th mover at no extra charge. I had been quoted $1800 to move from a 3 bedroom house into a 1 bedroom apartment. I told Joseph--the lead mover--that I had been very ill the previous week. I told him I had been diagnosed with cancer and that it was in my spine and brain so I hadn't been able to lift the heavier boxes to organize the house better for the move. I told Joseph multiple times to please load the rugs last because I wanted them taken up to the apartment first so the furniture could be placed on top of them. Several things went wrong with the move. They couldn't get my desk out of the bedroom door. I had put the desk in that room by myself for staging a few weeks prior; I didn't understand why they couldn't get it through the door. As a result I had to leave my beautiful, expensive Ethan Allen desk behind for the new owner of the house. I had labeled every box with what room in the apartment it needed to be placed and if a box contained fragile items. Joseph commented when he started bringing up the boxes that they needed to rush to finish the move. I said fine, just put the boxes you don't have time to move into the designated room into the hallway and bathroom. One of the most frustrating issues was they didn't bring the rugs up first, despite numerous requests to bring them up first. They brought the furniture up first. I again reminded them to get the rugs into the apartment right away but they continued to bring up furniture. When they brought my expensive leather couch up they scraped the arm rest against the door frame; I saw them shoving the couch in through the door and looked at the couch after they got it inside. It's not reparable. They rubbed a lot of paint off the door frame as well which I'm responsible for. When the boxes were brought up Joseph started piling them into the bathtub. Each stack had 4 boxes and many of those higher up were boxes of books--I didn't know how I was going to be able to lift them from above my head, get past the piles of boxes, then take the box to the living room and stack them on the bookshelves. I had to pay someone to move the boxes out of the bathtub and bathroom into their pre assigned location. Most shocking was how much I was charged. It cost $2000 and I ended up having to hire another person to do the rest of the work. I don't like to write negative reviews but in this case, I was charged so much for incomplete service, I had to leave my beautiful desk behind, my couch and the doorframe were damaged and I had to pay another person to move the boxes to their proper location so I could begin unpacking. I had chosen this company because they had good reviews. The movers themselves were nice, hardworking guys but they weren't professional movers. In my opinion they were overpriced for the service they offered. Others had good experiences with the movers so I may have just had them on a bad day. read more

Bad Experience!! They arrived an hour late (and I did not received a time window) and we had only booked the loading dock for two hours so my husband had to help get stuff into the truck while our time was running out. It took them 15-20 minute to park the truck and they counted that as part of our moving time. They started rushing during the move and became a little careless breaking an $175 bookshelf. The moving insurance that I paid for, through You Move Me, seems like a complete waste of money. Next, they were also only wearing masks for the first 15 minutes of the move, while things were coming out of the apartment. They did not wear masks for any of the time that products were moved into the house. I have already reached out and have got the response that they will work with customer but nothing yet has happened and our move happened two weeks ago. I was really excited to use You Move Me because when I called for a quote they had incredible response time, and great customer service and it was called out by many people that they were ALWAYS on time. When I hired You Move Me they were a 5 star company. I'm not sure what happened, assuming there has been some turnover in staff. The actual moving guys were very nice people. Their estimator didn't set them up for success. Even though he came by the house for the estimate, they didn't have enough men or a large enough truck come moving day. I received angry calls from the buyer of my home because You Move Me was basically trespassing for hours after closing. The plan was to pack up my place while I closed on the sale, take a lunch break and meet me at my new property. I stood at the front window of my new house waiting for 3 hours, on the phone, stressed out, wondering where they were with all of my stuff. I refused to pay more than the estimate, but from the looks of recent reviews, people have been really stiffed by this company. Again, the moving guys themselves were great, but the estimate was wildly inaccurate. My move took 12 hours, not 7. The guys didn't get a break so I ordered pizza. Pretty sure 12 hours of work with no break is an OSHA violation. Hope those guys leave that company and go to a place where they're treated right. read more

We hired You Move Me for a full service move on a 4BR/3Bath house. A person came out to provide an estimate for our move, and we went with them based on the estimate and proximity to our old home. The day of the move, the team did not seem aware of the fact that they were doing a full service move- the team lead was under the impression that they were packing up the kitchen only. As you can imagine, this was very stressful as our family had budgeted our time based on a full service move. Clearly, communication to the moving team was not executed well. The team was communicative and showed up on time (5 movers, 2 trucks as outlined in our estimate) Luckily, another team finished up early and came to help- there is absolutely no way this job would have been finished in a day if this hadn't happened. The movers were friendly and professional and we were grateful the job was completed in a day. We were satisfied with the actual move. Our estimate was over $1000 less than what we ended up paying (not including gratuity). Unfortunately, one of our pieces of furniture suffered damage that was much more than a simple repair. Our move was a month ago, and communication has been beyond poor to remedy this situation. I was directed to an email to which there was no out of office reply and no response for over a week. (I was told 1-2 business days). I then had 2 phone calls over 2 weeks ago and last this was left was a woodworker was going to ascertain via text message whether or not they could fix the furniture on site. This was more than a week ago and I have yet to hear back. I am wildly unimpressed at the communication with this company, from start to finish. We are lucky that an extra moving team was available to help our job went from 8am-5pm with 10 movers (!) and I am still waiting to hear back on whether or not the damage to my furniture is going to be remedied. I will not be using this company again, and will continue calling at least once a week to either have my furniture repaired or get reimbursed for this. read more

I used You Move Me twice in 2021; once for a $1400 single family move in June and a $1200 business move in Nov. The residential move - no problems. It went well. The business move - it went fine until they broke the glass top on an end table. They apologized, took photos and dimensions and said the "damage person" would reach out right away with a resolution. I was of course fine with that. It's now mid-April 2022 and I've called the office at least a dozen times over the past months looking for an update. I've heard 1. "Our damage guy is out of town but will get back to you right away." 2. "Our damage guy quit but someone else will be reaching out to you today" 3. "Oh I'm sorry to hear that our operations manager will get back to you today" 4. "Our operations manager has been out on jobs but he'll get back to you Friday." 5. "Our operations manager didn't get back to you? Oh sorry he'll reach out today" 6. "Give me the dimensions of the table top and we'll call our glass guy and get a replacement." etc etc etc Today - 4/13/22 I was told "Oh I'm so sorry someone will be reaching out to you in the next hour" And of course no call back. Let me be clear, I'm not upset about the item and just want a new piece of glass. No big deal. I've spent nearly $3000 with this company and they can't resolve a piece of broken glass? Hmm. It's almost a running joke. Who is in charge of this place? It sure is poorly managed. This attitude must be set by upper management/ownership. I was deceived from my initial over the phone quote. I was told I could rent a TV box the day of the move, and I was NOT old they would not cover damages to my TV unless I had kept the original box I bought it in. Sure, like I have a 63" tv box in a one bedroom apartment. That's reasonable to think...not. I was told that when the movers had already shown up at my door and did not even offer to rent one. I was also not told they refuse to cover particle board furniture. This is NOT normal. Neither of these things are. I have moved nine times in 7 years due to college and work, across four different states. I have used other moving agencies every time. This is NOT universal. In addition, they damaged two of my expensive lamps and chipped a massive chunk off of my dining room table. They offered me $25 whole dollars if I agreed to sign on the spot to bot ask for more money. What a JOKE- the metal lamp they bent and destroyed was more than that. $25 for ruining that, a $60 lamp, and a multi-hundred dollar dining table? I waited days to hear from their corporate office expecting a reasonable amount of monetary compensation. Instead they treated it like an interrogation and offered NO resolution. They kept saying they needed to talk to the moving team and the local office. Both the team and the office told me day of the move they were going to pass along the info immediately. The corporate office said they had not heard anything. They then offered to send a repairman to my house to PATCH my table. They didn't even offer a number! I said no. This is not normal procedure for a moving company at all. I have received monetary compensation for a destroyed leather futon and ruined chairs from other companies within 24 hours. Pick other movers. 2 stars only for the polite men who moved me. This company is a joke and my review cannot be bought, but they'd better provide compensation soon, as it has been three days of nothing so far. Edit 5/26: I received a phone call from the corporate office offering me a settlement amount. I was told they will not send me what I am owed unless I sign an agreement to remove my honest review. I find this deceptive and wrong. I will do no such thing and am giving them one last chance. I have contacted the local office. You Move Me is a terrible company and you should never trust them with your furniture because they did more than $1,100 in damage to mine. As a former professional mover, I can say without any hesitation that their staff are not well trained (or don't care?) and their "insurance" is beyond a joke. In order to even get a refund for their "services," they require waiving all claims and removal of all complaints and social media reviews. No wonder they have such good reviews. I used You Move Me once in 2014 and they did a great job. I was really happy with the team and they used stretch wrap and pads to protect my furniture and talked to me about concerns; they were a delightful team. When they moved my furniture again (this time into a rental truck) the movers didn't bother to use stretch wrap, were rough with my belongings and damaged all of my antique furniture. It is really important to note the difference in moves: if they load your furniture into their truck, they (in theory) will cover the damage they do. If they load into a rental truck, you sign a waiver saying they aren't responsible for any damages done from travel or unloading. What this means in reality is that the movers know that their managers will deny all claims so they don't have to be careful. Their sales manager blamed me for the damage and said they weren't liable for because it was being moved into a rental truck, even though the damage was done during the loading process. As a person who trained my share of movers, they get bonus points for being very personable and friendly. I gave the team the benefit of the doubt on the corners they cut during the load -- not using stretch wrap, dropping furniture on the ground -- but realized the extent of my mistake after they left when I looked in the truck. Among the mistakes I saw: -The entire load was secured with a cheap, foam mattress ratcheted to the walls, but the ratchet wasn't even tight and the mattress was loose. The whole thing would have shifted as soon as the truck moved. -They stacked thousands of dollars worth of bikes (in boxes labeled "this end up") the wrong way - The load had giant gaps between pieces that were unsupported -They stacked 80ish pounds of boxes on top of my coffee table and probably another 60 on my lamp table. It was pretty clear that the people who loaded this truck either 1) didn't know what they were doing or 2) didn't care. Either option is pretty bad and turned out very poorly for me. I had to do significant work to repack the truck to make the load safe for transit before I was able to drive away. Sadly, the damage had already been done. I'm certainly kicking myself now for not taking pictures to prove it, since the management will absolutely deny everything. After posting this review, the sales manager called me to apologize, and said he would repair my furniture; he also asked me to take down this review, which I did. This started a process of more than two months of emails, calls and appraisals. Eventually, I found out it would cost more than $1,100 to repair my furniture. Upon learning how expensive it would be to repair my furniture, You Move Me decided not to repair the damage after all, instead they offered to give me a refund for the cost of the move ($308) as long as I waived all claims and remove all social media reviews. While I appreciate not having to pay more than $100 an hour to watch people damage my stuff, it is a little blackmail-ish and it isn't going to fix the scratches and gouges in my furniture. If I were you, I wouldn't trust anything you care about to them. They use the same crews for their 1-800-JUNK business, which probably says it all. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The bill ended up being 50% higher than the estimate, I received $200 worth of move out violations because they broke the very simple moving rules my condo has in place, and the items they choose to wrap up and protect vs. those they didn't protect whatsoever was highly questionable. The bulk of my wooden items had large scratches and gashes in it and didn't get protected at all. The movers decided to roll a heavy wood and iron entertainment cart with decorative cast iron wheels through the apartment and left huge scratches in the cement floor. The customer service and managers I spoke with were quite unprofessional and laughed at most of my complaints. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. STAY AWAY!!!!!! Response to owners remarks: It is true I was not there during the move, but I made this clear to the employee who confirmed my move prior to move day and he told me nothing about the company not being liable if I am not there. The movers insisted my girlfriend should sign the contract and me not reading it or seeing it wasn't a big deal. Doesn't seem professional to me to not disclose any of this to the person paying the bill. The two rules of the condo are: don't leave external doors open and don't let stuff pile up unattended in common areas. People pay a lot of money to live in downtown condos, so not propping external doors open is an extremely common rule...makes a lot of sense. If I am paying you as much as I did, I would prefer my stuff doesn't get left unattended in elevator lobbies where anybody can stop by and take a swipe at things, especially if you are leaving doors propped open. These guys were told upfront by the condo office personal about this and also reminded early on as they were breaking the rules. If I didn't care about my stuff being treated properly, I could rent a uhaul and do this myself for $300 max. The first level manager has a work answering machine that says: "yoooooo, this Anthony, what's good brah? Can't come to the phone but I'll I'll hit you back later." If you think this sounds good and professional, that is par for the course with what you will get at you move me. I have never left a negative review anywhere before, but this company screwed me over, royally. Just expressing my opinion and I hope others don't make the mistake I did and hire these clowns. If you don't want expensive furniture getting thrown upside down in boxes and not wrapped up at all, probably better to steer clear. We hired 'You Move Me Minneapolis' end of August to move us. While the move went 80-90% to perfection, what bothered me is something that could have been easily rectified. I understand accidents happen. However, I hired a company that was licensed and insured so that if anything was broken it would be reimbursed. Isn't that was anyone expects when moving? Well a crew mover accidentally lifted up a 12 ft rug after bringing it into the foyer at our new house, it accidentally slammed against the chandelier. Glass rained down. We took pictures, the crew leader took pictures. After closing I never heard anything - were they planning to replace the chandelier that they were 100% at fault for breaking? So after 2 long weeks, I emailed Jake Spolar. It was never responded to. It was ignored. So I guess I have my answer. SOL. This was not a million-dollar chandelier, it was the principle, you break it, you fix it. Moral: If you don't mind that they will never reimburse for things they break, go ahead, hire them. Great experience. Called them around six one evening after getting answering services and voicemails with several other moving companies. We had an in-person consult set up the next day. Estimate was within the range of several others we got. On move day Barrett and Devan showed up. They were careful and efficient in wrapping our stuff - got a 15x10 office and waiting room packed in about an hour. At the move site, we had a furniture delivery scheduled for the same time they moved us, and they gracefully worked around the other (very slow) crew. Very frustrated with You Move Me. I hired them to help with my moving over a month ago and not only they charged me a thousand dollars over the estimated cost, they also broke several furniture pieces, took my broken bed to try and fix it but never returned either the bed or any of my weekly calls. They also promised setting up the furniture at the new house but left my basement filled with broken furniture that cannot be set up and 2 fitness equipment that are now missing screws and I can't set them up on my own. I am left with a lot of broken furniture (chair, bed, dresser, desk), damaged walls and flooring. One of the broken pieces is my new sleep number bed. I have had 2 home calls, purchased parts that got lost during the move by "You Move Me" and still the bed can't be fixed because of the careless way this crew moved my things. I would be happy to find a solution that would satisfy both the company and myself but no one has shown the respect to even call me back and talk through it. Beyond upset. read more

We hired this company for our move into storage and then to unload three months later. We were very happy with the three person crew that moved things into storage. When it was time to move things into our new home they only sent two people. As a result I had to help moving things into our house. A leg on a dresser was broken in the move, I have called and sent emails with pictures to both the franchiser and franchisee for the past three months and have had no response from anyone at the company. read more

Completely unprofessional experience and charged significantly more than the original quote. When I made my reservations over the phone in July 2018, I booked a 2-man crew for my studio apartment and was quoted a flat rate fee of $144 plus $144/hr with a minimum of 2 hours. I was also told that travel time would not be included in the hourly rate. When the crew arrived, they showed up with 3 men. I confirmed with the team lead that I had only booked 2 men, to which he argued that even though the hourly fee would increase to $194/hr, they could accomplish the job a lot faster with 3 men and I would probably end up saving money. (He also offered to send the 3rd man home, which is awkward since the 3rd man had NO transportation to GET home.) Being put on the spot, I agreed to the 3-man rate. The other two movers were kind and hard-working, but the team lead made me very uncomfortable. Within the first 20 seconds of meeting me, he told me I smelled nice and later asked if I had a boyfriend...... not acceptable or professional, ESPECIALLY as a single woman with 3 strangers in her own personal space. I also learned on my moving day that contrary to what I was told over the phone, travel time IS included in the hourly rate, and since traffic and road construction were heavy that day, the 50 minutes spent driving to the second location meant I had to pay $194 for the crew of 3 guys to drive across town behind me. While I was quoted at roughly $400 for my move, the total charges were almost $700. Not to mention- I noticed later that evening that one of the men had left a gauge in my apartment wall when moving my bed frame. A few days later, I called their management team to tell them about the damage to my wall, the pricing discrepancies, and about the unprofessional behavior of the team lead. I also requested a partial refund, which I felt was fair and deserved. After days of no response, I was told very plainly that management was not willing to extend any type of refund except a small amount to cover the damages to my wall. I never write Yelp reviews, but this experience sickens me when I think about it and in my opinion, people considering You Move Me services should know how their customers are really treated. I used You Move Me to get my 3 bedroom house moved from Plymouth to Maple Grove. When I say three bedroom, I also mean a basement, my books from college 10 years ago, 5 bikes, and everything from my garage, and miscellaneous brewing equipment. The two guys that were sent to help, Travis and Derek must be the best movers in the area because I received nothing but awesome from them! They must take the best of the best, and then make them better! Travis is a beast and Derek was kinda like his wing-man, but, like, in an Ice-Man/Maverick type of way (you know, where their basically equal and either could be running the show). You move me is the best company I have ever used to move me into a new place. I refuse to use anyone different! My movers I had hired bailed on me at the time I was scheduled to move. Hailey answered when I called acting like a hot mess in a panic. She was so nice and helpful, she got us in for the next morning. The 2 guys that came and helped move were Blake and Thomas. They were excellent!! They were friendly, patient, and did an amazing job. Nothing was broken or damaged. I will recommend this company to everyone I know. You don't find them like these guys anymore. read more

I had a move with your company over the weekend and I was left somewhat shocked by the experience. While not all of it was negative, there were some issues I encountered which frankly should not be the standard for your service. Handling of Sensitive Items:  * The movers were lacking knowledge in how to properly and carefully package my TVs for the move. One of the main reasons I hired movers is because I have no way to transport my flat-screen TVs, including a 65" OLED Panel. OLED panels are very sensitive and thin, and the movers handled it quite aggressively and roughly. Something I found really frustrating was how I overheard one of the movers say, "I'm going to have to watch a video on how to assemble the [TV] boxes, we packaged both TV's differently and I think we did both the wrong way."    * Furthermore, while transporting my items from I witnessed my movers hit the leg of my dresser against the wall and once at my house as they were transporting my dresser in they again hit the leg of the dresser against the wall causing damage to my house by leaving a dent in the wall.  Cleanliness:  * My movers made no attempt to lay down protection for my carpeting. As they started unloading my items into my house, they brought the items in with their shoes wet and dirty from the outside. They left stains on my carpeted stairs. I had lay down towels on my stairs to create a walkway so they would not further muddy my carpets. Timeliness and Organization:  * I initially scheduled my moving appointment for 8 AM. Later in the week, I had to follow-up to confirm my move and I was told my move would happen between 12PM - 2 PM. I was later called by the company to confirm my appointment and I was told to expect the movers closer to 12PM. The day of the move came around and my movers showed up around 12:45PM. I was flexible and understanding with the set-up time error, but understandably my patience and tolerance wore thin with the issues I mentioned above. Honestly, I just found a larger portion of my service to be unacceptable. I only had 8 items to move from an apartment to a house (1 rug, 1 bed frame, 1 mattress, 1 small desk, 1 entertainment console, 1 dresser and 2 TVs). The move took nearly 4 hours to complete. I believe they could have taken greater care and been better prepared. There were also issues related to the handling of my bed frame while trying to get it into my house. I paid $598 for a service where my movers weren't sure how to handle or properly package my items. To be fair, my movers did explain the process well to me, they did wear their face coverings in light of COVID, and they did their best to ensure the assembly and disassembly of my items was orderly. On balance, I would not use or recommend your company's service in the future. read more

The company was personal. I received personal service. The dispatcher called to confirm my appointment. He was flexible on switching it. And, the best part was that the company price matched a lower offer I received. The movers were nice and good. They weren't the fastest people I have used to move, however, I could tell that they were more careful with my things. If you like your things, and you don't want them broken, you should use this company. You should also use this company if you are spastic and paranoid like me, because they reassured me and were perfect. read more

I used You Move Me at the beginning of July to move from an apartment to bungalow. The moving truck was slated to arrive at 8:30AM and arrived at 9:00AM. Three young men came into my apartment and started moving me. At one point, I went to the living room and noticed several paint scratches on the floor. When I pointed them out, one of the men exclaimed, "That was here before!" (they were not). The process of packing up my apartment took an hour. Next, we went to the bungalow to unpack. The bungalow is situated in a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood. While they were unpacking, the young men were yelling to each other and swore loudly several times (so loud I could hear them inside when they were outside). During this move, several items were also damaged (my armoire was scratched on top and a hole was put in the door). The process to unpack took 45 minutes. Once unpacking was done, the leader came over and let me know I was being charged for 2.25 hours even though the whole process ended by 10:45PM and took 1.75 hours. Based on my experience, I would not recommend using You Move Me. The movers were not professional, I was over-charged, and my items were not handled with care. Late July 2018 Update: Someone from You Move Me reached out regarding my concerns and are offering to reimburse me in part for the damage. I'm appreciative of this gesture, and I hope they make changes on the front end to make the moving experience better. read more

If you are moving in the Twin Cities area, these are the folks to work with. This is my first ever Yelp review, because it was THAT good. I have moved one other time in Minneapolis and used Local Motion. Though I had no issue with them, You Move Me's friendly staff, lower pricing structure and general concern/thoughtfulness for my move is what sets this company apart. I signed up to get a quote on their site, and accidentally ended up booking. I called Caleb to tell him I had made a mistake, and his attitude and helpfulness convinced me to keep the reservation. I was unsure of the date I would be moving, and instead of making me put a deposit down, Caleb and I stayed in contact until I could confirm a reservation, and he held a spot on two dates for me (free of charge) until I could be sure. The day of the move, the movers called and asked for my coffee order, showed up right around 8 (as I requested), cappuccino in hand, and were done unloading/reloading in less than 2 hours. (I am single with not too many items, and was only moving about 20 blocks away...but still...) They were prompt, professional and I did not notice any damage to any of my items (even though my packing was probably less than stellar). The movers carried an iPad so I could pay and tip with my credit card, and they brought me a housewarming plant as a final farewell. They only charge a $65 travel fee, and their hourly is $110, with a one hour minimum. Moving is a very stressful time in general, and this company does a great job of not creating any additional stresses with deposits, damage, etc. The communication was impeccable and I will surely be using them again in the future. read more

I needed to move from one 3rd floor walk up to another this past weekend. Initially, I planned to use my friends, but after checking the weather reports, I decided to hire the job out. I made a reservation online on Thursday, July 23 for a July 27 move. I got a confirmation call on Friday afternoon. I was very happy they could help on such short notice. The movers arrived and immediately got to work. Ben and Juan were pretty fast and efficient. It was about 86 degrees and humid as all get out and, as I stated before, there were a LOT of stairs to climb. No complaints from either of them. In the end, my total was a bit under the quote I was given and I received a cute plant that I will try really hard not to kill as a housewarming gift. In a follow-up email, I mentioned that I did not get my complimentary drink (no biggie, really) and that I didn't get the Yelp discount. I received a call today (Wednesday) and the Yell discount is being refunded! All in all, I was very happy with the service and would definitely recommend You Move Me to others. read more

When they picked up our stuff they were on time, speedy, and courteous. But when it came to the delivery, they arrived 8 hours after the time they told us, a LOT of our stuff was broken (including the base of our bed), and we still have several items we have not been able to find. The only good comment I have for them is that every single employee they had moving us, were very nice and the one who seemed like he was in charge was very apologetic about all the issues. read more

Disclaimer: I've never hired movers before. I paid $260 for an hour worth of unloading. I had my own truck, my own appliance dolly, and a furniture dolly at the apartment, and still had to pay a $120 flat truck fee on top of the $120 hourly fee. They did bring an extra furniture dolly, but given the choice I wouldn't have paid $120 for that extra dolly. To be fair, they were up front about these charges before starting. I'm not sure where the extra $20 came from as my bill only says "custom amount" ($260 was the amount before tip) - possibly taxes? I did have to find someone last minute so I am appreciative they helped, but the price seems quite steep. The two movers were friendly. The one nice piece of furniture I own was scratched in the unloading however. I do appreciate that one of them could tell I was trying to hurry things along to save money, and so he was clearly trying to be quick. Overall I think they may be a good choice for homeowners moving a huge amount of things, but if you've already rented a truck or are trying to save money there seem to be cheaper options out there. read more

I've been putting off writing this review for quite some time, but now that we're getting ready to move again, I feel it's my responsibility to share our experience. I chose You Move Me based on the excellent care I received when getting my moving appraisal- the man that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable, and presented a well-organized and professional moving estimate. I felt like I knew exactly how things would proceed on moving day. Unfortunately, the actual move was not nearly as impressive. The movers showed up a little late and did not seem to have any knowledge of the moving plan we'd made. At the appraisal I was told that the carpets would be protected and all of the furniture would be padded-- but the team acted like these steps were an unnecessary waste of time and omitted them. They really seemed focused on getting the move done, not in taking care of our furniture. I saw them cut corners to make things go faster, in the meantime damaging our belongings. They set furniture and mattresses fabric-side down on the sidewalk and dirt/grass, so several things ended up with dirt stains. None of our furniture was wrapped like I was told it would be. We have at least 5 wooden pieces of furniture that ended up with dents or chips. It still makes me sick to my stomach to think that if I had only chosen a different moving company, our furniture would be in better shape today. Oh, also, we were promised wardrobe boxes-- and it wasn't until the team had moved EVERYTHING else out of the house that they told me it was my responsibility to pack them-- which would have been totally fine had they mentioned that in the beginning, so I could have been working on it while they were moving everything else. It was just poor communication all around. I should say that I complained about our damaged belongings so the company sent a repair man out who filled in some of the dents... but, I still would have preferred they hadn't happened in the first place. I am embarrassed that I was wooed by the professional moving estimate procedure and promise of free coffee and a houseplant (which, by the way, was completely wilted from sitting in the hot moving truck all day!), several things that I thought would set this company above its competitors. They might do fine with a simple apartment move, but if you have any decent furniture that you don't want damaged, please look elsewhere. read more

I contacted You Move Me Minneapolis to see if they could handle a same day unloading of a Pod storage. They managed to fit me into their schedule and had Jack & David show up ahead of schedule. They were incredibly professional, unloading everything quickly and efficiently with no damage to any of my items. Moving is a stressful experience, so I wholeheartedly recommend this company to make the process easier to handle. read more

We used you move me today for a move in mpls and honestly could not have been more impressed. They were right on time, very friendly and were so cheerful. It really helped make a stressful day SO much easier. They took great care with our belongings (well, my sons and his roommates lol-I was there there to "help") and worked very quickly and efficiently. Barrett and Michael were our guys and if I could give them ten stars I would. They even gave us a houseplant as a housewarming gift when they finished. Top notch service delivered with a smile by two very professional and friendly gentlemen. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of movers!!! read more
