Dr. Youngquist Sr. completed my orthodontia and results were fine. There were significant issues with his behavior that were never adequately addressed by him or his staff. He arrived over an hour late after asking me to arrive early in the morning which made it necessary for me to make arrangements at my work. When he did arrive, he didn't apologize, but explained that he was at a ball game up north and couldn't get back on time. He explained further how important he felt it was to take his (grown) son to this ball game since he'd never been to one before. He then proceeded to spill acid in my mouth which caused a permanent scar. By that point I began to realize that he probably was suffering from a hangover. After that, he called my home in the evening (very likely drunk) and admitted that he spilled the acid and told me what the specific chemical was - all of this only after I asked him repeatedly to explain what happened. (I believed that he called in order to try to prevent a lawsuit). He then proceeded to tell me at great length, to both my and my husband's astonishment, that he once had to wait for a long time at a doctor's office and that waiting for doctors is to be expected and that I had no reason to complain. He also went on and on about the importance of taking his son to the ball game. He was clearly drunk and very defensive. I made an appointment a few days later to review my mouth injuries and to discuss his phone call to my home and his behavior in general. Dr. Youngquist did not appear. One of his assistants denied that my injuries were caused by the acid spill. All of my questions and comments were ignored. After that, I discontinued all association with him. I very likely should have pursued a claim, but I was fed up with his pompous, self-aggrandizing, irresponsible behaviors and needed to move on. This was about ten years ago. I've been irritated during the past years when I've seen any ads, etc. referring to his practice. I probably should have found a way to warn others about him. I believe that, while he is capable of producing good orthodontic results, his behavior is detrimental and potentially harmful, especially since he deals with children who have no way of determining if he's at his best when he is performing a procedure. I don't know if he is still practicing or if his son took over. If he is still active, I would be wary of his unusual behaviors and be sure to be present when he performs procedures on children. Better yet, find another orthodontist. This is all unfortunate, but it needs to be said. read more

Dr Youngquist has a great rapport with kids. He made my daughter feel at ease and did a great job. I'd highly recommend him.

Gladly drove the 45m from Milwaukee to have Dr Bob and Dr Dave straighten up my crooked adult teeth after I neglected my retainers for years. They fixed me up in time for my wedding and I finally have perfect teeth! My smile is better than after round one of braces (in middle school)! Dr. Youngquist is the best! Having had braces and jaw surgery in my past(1960's & 1980's), he was a breath of fresh air! He corrected my teeth (I just wanted them tweaked) in a cost effective and short time frame, without unneeded work and costs. That was in the late 1990's. My 16yo daughter recently completed her treatment and had her braces removed. It was a mere 2 yr process. We had visited local orthos for opinions and costs near us in Northern Illinois and discovered all our docs were using a one size fits all plan spanning over 4-6 yrs at twice the cost. Dr. Youngquist was cost and time friendly! The office is impeccable and the staff wonderful. I feel we have grown old together with all the years that spanned between myself and my daughter. He has shared personal family stories and travel experiences with my husband and myself, as well. He keeps up to date on the latest treatment options and has a terrific additional doctor to his practice. I drive 45 minutes to an hour to Lk. Geneva and it is well worth it. I have had braces since third grade. My first round was with Kokodinski orthodontics, but my mother after hearing amazing reviews about this place switched me. The beginning of my treatment began great. My teeth were progressing quickly until they decided to switch it up. Every single appointment they switched my appliance. They later stopped switching appliances every time and then stopped and said they wanted to wait and see. Fast forward to a couple months ago when I finally had my appointment to get them off. The tech started filing my teeth down for the retainer and the doctor came over and said stop, and told me after 3 years of this torturous hell of this round of braces I still wasn't getting them off. This isn't even the end though. I currently have bands. Every appointment since getting them they switch it up. They told me once that I was wearing them wrong. Ok maybe I did. Then it happened again and again and I started keeping the paper that showed how to wear them. I have an appointment tomorrow and now have all of the papers showing I was right. Lets see if they deny it, or own up to their mistakes. read more

After not wearing my retainer my teeth began to shift as an adult. I found out about Youngquist Orthodontics through a friend and drove from Milwaukee to receive treatment. I was set up with Dr. Kennedy. He was genuine, funny, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He has a great working relationship with all of his assistants, who by the way are top notch! I never thought that going to my ortho appointments would be so much fun. Dr. Kennedy was professional but could easily relate with me on a personal level. It seemed as if I was his only patient with the amount of attention he provided me (even though every chair was filled in the office). I only met Dr. Youngquist a few times but each time he would look me in the eyes and great me with a smile and a handshake. Youngquist Orthodontics is amazing and I have recommended it to many people. Thanks for all of your help! read more
