The dog park is on the sand with various obstacles to keep your pup engaged. There are separate entrances for small dogs and big dogs. Once inside, you can cross from either side through the central gazebo. Dogs can be off-leash in the park. Dogs are also allowed on the regular beach and to swim in the ocean, but must be leashed while on the beach. More details below. There is also a parking lot right on Ocean Ave between East Maple and East Glenwood Avenue for easy access. The beach is long and clean with views of the casinos of Atlantic City and the Ocean City-Longport bridge. It is part of the Malibu Beach Wildlife Management area, so very pretty and preserved. You have to carry out your trash, and "hold-it-in" until you get to another place with a bathroom, and parking is limited. But, it's a special place to romp around and be carefree. So keep a look out for your pup because they can get pretty far from you and I think it can be hard for them to hear commands. There are parks for children and a paved trails for strollers. It is a large park with multiple areas for different size of dogs and areas if you need to move your pup off by themselves. Overall the dogs are well behaved and the owners love their dogs and watch over them. I have meet lots of different dogs and lots of very nice people. Of course with anywhere you can have a few bad eggs but the good way outlays the bad. Great park and I am glad that we have it in our area.
