Tomorrow we are hosting a big recovery barbecue, and my sister, one of our board members, had the idea yesterday to order a custom vinyl banner with our logo and some other basic info on it. I spent several hours designing it and then called at least three other businesses, all of which told me there was no way they could create this for us with such short notice. When I gave Cari a few more details about the event, she immediately started to think of a way to make our banner and get it to us on time. When my sister was unavailable to pick it up before the store closed, Cari said it was possible to have it delivered to my sister's house. At every turn, Cari went above and beyond to help us out. I had created the invitations myself and tried using other apps at home to resize and reformat the file, but I could not get it to fit properly within the printing requirements on Staples.com. If you've ever worked on a DIY project, you know how frustrating that can be; especially when you're trying to make sure everything is PERFECT before spending money on the final product. I definitely didn't want to spend $100 on invitations and then be disappointed with how they printed. That's where the manager at Staples really helped me. I don't remember her name, unfortunately, but she was incredibly patient and helpful. She took the time to look at my invitation and figure out how to format it so that the design wouldn't get cut off or go outside the printing area. My invitation has a lot of different colors, and because it was being printed on one side, I really wanted to make sure everything stayed clear and looked the way I designed it. She figured it out, helped me get the order submitted, and I was able to pay in the store. I ordered approximately 75 invitations for around $100 including tax, and the invitations came with envelopes. I placed the order after 7-8 PM, so I understood that the one-hour printing option wasn't available. Instead, my order was ready the next day. By around noon, I received the email letting me know my invitations were ready for pickup. And when I picked them up, I was impressed with how everything was packaged. The invitations were neatly organized with dividers inside a Staples box, and I received a second box containing the envelopes. The envelopes were also organized into three separate packs. Most importantly, the colors, sizing, and overall quality came out exactly as I expected. That was the biggest relief! This is actually my second DIY project. My first was a poster, and now I've graduated to creating my own event invitations. The process wasn't necessarily easy for me, but there is something SO satisfying about putting together your own design and then finally holding the finished product in your hands. And honestly, creating my own invitations was much more affordable than purchasing invitations with a design I didn't necessarily want. Having a local place where you can actually talk to someone and get help with your print project makes a big difference. My biggest takeaway from this experience is that I'll continue using Staples for my printing projects. I can use the online system when everything goes smoothly, but now I know that if I run into a problem, I can go into the store and get help from someone who knows how to make it work. And that peace of mind is worth a lot when you're working on an important event. I won't post a photo of the invitations because they contain personal event information, but just know that I was VERY happy with the final product. Now...I'm just happy this DIY project is DONE!

There's another location closer to my house, which is a more convenient stop for me on my way home, but I always hope I can make it to this Meriden location in time. These days we've been busier at work and I'm less likely to get my work done in time, so I don't make it to this location as often as I used to. When I do, the people are always friendly. They're usually quick to tell me that if I'm just dropping off, I don't have to wait in line, I can just put my stuff down and go. This is wonderfully convenient, especially since I'm always just dropping off. My only possible complaint would be that there's not enough parking for the number of businesses in the plaza, but that's not on FedEx. I'm not exactly sure what it is that these guys are doing so right, but I hope they keep doing it!

Ive had the pleasure of using them for personal printing and their prices are good and fair. They will do large print jobs and small personal print jobs (far better than some Big Box stores). I had flyers printed for my bands event and they came out beautiful. They operate fairly quickly and will print in a time crunch if you find yourself in a bind. A lot of people forget the importance of having printed materials for certain situations. Window flyers and postcards being just some of those situations.
