Never had a roast with two different bones...not impressed and threw out a lot of meat (steaks & roasts) because of the way it was cut.

Cordobes Foods - I dry aged the tomahawk steak for a week before preparing it for my family for Valentine's Day. This was 2.75 lbs.

They took the time to share their story and passion for good food, which made the whole experience even better. They legit have whatever kind of meat you want and some you've never heard of. We came in search of pork Secretos but left with so much more. Plus they gave us an amazing empanada recipe. If you're looking for local butcher who can provide knowledge, quality and selection check this place out!

At those prices, free shipping is a bit of an oxymoron. First, I cooked the rack of lamb. When I cut into it, to serve the chops, they were PERFECT. Just the way my family likes. Seared on the outside, red on the inside. I had a little "off" stomach that night, so I just had a bowl of soup, thus I never tasted them. I don't need to "fish" for compliments. I've been written up in a major newspaper as a "great home cook." I know I'm a good cook, but I am accustomed to at least someone saying "this is really good." If I flub a bit, I'll be the FIRST to say, "thanks, but it could be better," or similar. There was only silence around the table. Really? I finally asked, and the response was, "it's okay. There's nothing wrong, but there's really no flavor." Yikes. I'm the only one in the family who eats steak, so the next night, I cooked the PRIME ribeye. For my taste, no steak can match a prime ribeye, for flavor and for texture..A quick sear on both sides in a hot cast iron pan, and into a hot oven for 3 -4 minutes, and I know I'm in heaven. You needed a SAW to cut that meat, that's how tough it was. That steak was no more USDA prime than a Jack-in-the-Box burger. I had two bites, and threw it into the trash. That steak wasn't even choice. It was probably standard. Finally, I defrosted a 3-pound ribeye, so I could cut a thick steak - same process of sear and finish in the oven. Same result. No flavor, and tough. I threw in the towel on the rest of my order, and gave the lamb shanks to my neighbor. My experience tells me that PT Barnum was right. Lesson learned.

First, I wish they had seating somewhere, but just the same, our first experience with this…read morebutcher/deli was very good. My husband has lived in Longmont for two decades, and I've been here for 5 years, but neither of us had ever gone into the store. Since we were already in the shopping center to try a new place yesterday, we went to Frank's afterwards. Bottom line, we've finally found our favorite deli in the area. If it wasn't snowing today, we'd go back for a sandwich. Since we weren't immediately hungry, we instead looked over the meat selection and then zeroed in on the deli counter. I purchased just a few sample items. A bagel (they say it's a NY bagel, and it does have the right texture! Just wish they had whole wheat); whitefish salad (better than any others I've encountered in the area); cole slaw (perfectly blended - not too watery, not too dry); and a canoli, which was flaky and sweet. The deli items have an East Coast feel like no other in the area that I've encountered. Better than anything I found in Lakewood, where I lived before. And, since we just got back from a visit to my Dad in Florida, this was a welcome sight! The soup they had as a special, as well as the sandwich special descriptions sounded yummy, so we will go back, maybe this weekend. The meats also look good, so we will likely try some in the weeks to come. Again, I wish they could somehow create a place, even outside, where we could sit to eat. We could then eat right away instead of having to go home first. But even with that inconvenience, we look forward to more encounters. The young man who helped us doesn't know much yet about the choices, but I'm sure if he stays there, he'll learn. He was pleasant and helpful, asking another employee when he didn't know an answer. It's already busy there, but yes, I recommend going and waiting to try their goods! It's worth the wait.

Avoid this business:…read more We tried to buy a whole hog from these guys last year. They were happy to take our deposit, but after that we never heard from them again. We've been trying weekly to call and email, and have had no response. I'm not sure if they are actually trying to scam us, or if they are just terrible at customer service, either way if you don't want to get ripped off I'd avoid them.

He informed us he would deliver the lamb to the butcher at a later date. As of this time, we still haven't heard back from him regarding the lamb we purchased from him. We've emailed and called him several times. My husband got ahold of him once and he said he was in the car and would check his records in his office and get back to us. We still haven't heard anything back and have requested a refund. At this time, he's not returning our calls and emails. We've ordered half a cow from other ranchers and butchers in the past and have never experienced this before. We didn't get that much beef from him which leads us to wonder about his questionable farming practices. In the beginning, he would always call us promptly and answer our questions and then as soon as he got our money, we have struggled to get ahold of him and get our lamb (now all we want is a refund). If you see the other review listed here, you'll see that this seems like a common occurrence with them.
