Based upon previous yelpers we tried this place finally. What a great find! It's definitely a local favorite and that always speaks volumes to me. Our server Jasmine was a delight as we're the other servers all helping each other. My wife has allergies and Jasmine was patient and very knowledgeable of what was in the food. Pad Woon Sen was fresh and good. Coconut soup was probably the best we ever had. Chicken Satay was awesome - I appreciated that it was thin and lean rather than thicker pieces at some of the other places. And don't forget the ice cream! They make their own. I asked Jasmine her favorite and she suggested the Basil Mint Chip which is not in the menu. So GOOD! We found the portions just right and the prices fair. The food is excellent. It was the best fried pork belly I've ever had. The shrimp Tom yum was good, the broth had a very balanced flavor. The service was lacking. Did my waitress leave? I haven't seen her since she took my order and brought my soda. Soda in a can that was $2.50 but I didn't see that it was only going to be a can or I would have ordered water. I didn't get a chance to also get a water because nobody checked on me. Somebody did bring me my order, just not my waitress. The restaurant is going to close soon, will somebody bring me my check? Everybody just keeps clearing tables, they even took my dishes away. Everybody except my waitress because she disappeared. Good thing I didn't want my food boxed because the person who cleared my dishes didn't offer. Oh! I see my waitress across the restaurant serving someone... so she is still here... just not here. The food is amazing. I've gotten the Panang curry with tofu and veggies the past three times and have not been disappointed. You definitely get the bang for your buck!! Left overs are guaranteed. The only reason that I didn't go 5 stars was because when my group and I wanted separate checks (mind you it was only 3 checks) our waiter came back and said "don't worry, I included gratuity on there." This has always been my favorite Thai place in SB. Tonight I ordered the Tom Kha with tofu, fried vegan rolls and garlic edamame. Tom Kha: delicious; it is traditionally not spicy, but I asked for it medium and it was perfect. Vegan rolls: really good, would have been better fried a bit longer (next time I will ask for extra crispy); edamame: a bit messy to eat because they are coated in garlic butter, but I knew what I was getting into... I have been coming here for over 20 years. I enjoy the good service, and inside the environment is open and airy. No recent remodel, it's dated, but clean, and I really appreciate the off street parking. The food is good ( food wise this is one of our better Thai restaurants ) and incredibly consistent. A few years ago, the owner's son decided to start expanding the homemade ice cream... he calls it "Creaminal Minds". What a success! Be sure to try the fusion flavors, they're excellent. Finally, a Thai restaurant in SB that has flavor! This is the best traditional Thai food I've had in SB thus far. I had their tofu pad see ew. Their noodles were very flavorful and tasty. I also ordered a tofu panang curry. The curry was very flavorful and filling. It had lots of veggies and tofu. My only advise would be a better ratio between curry and veggies. It could use a little more of the liquid curry so that it can be enjoyed with rice. Other than that, everything was on point. Their Thai ice tea was also delicious. My upstairs neighbor told me about this place. He usually goes once a week to help his dad unload the weeks order of fresh veggies and other yummy groceries. My first dish here was the basil and, sweet chili beef ... Instantly hooked! I literally went again the next day and had the same thing. Later that same week I just had to bring my friends around ! They all loved it ! Instant crowd pleaser. This time around I orderd the garlic pepper chicken, now I know what you're thinking...that there isn',t much to this dish but let me just say ...it was an explosion of flavors. My friends and I came last Sunday for lunch and everything was delicious. We each had a lunch special plus the spicy noodles (so good!) I am from the east bay where Thai food is life and every place is a hit for the most part. All of our specials - green curry, panang curry and beef noodles were delicious. And for desert I split a scoop of the homemade coconut, almond fudge ice cream. Oh my god so good! And they sell their ice cream in pints! Too tempting to know about. Yes, I agree the aesthetics aren't the best but I have been to lots of Thai places where this is pretty standard but nonetheless the food was outstanding. Had dinner here on a Friday night. The decor here is very plain and a bit boring, but we have realized that this seems to be the norm for Thai restaurants. Our expectations were low after it took the waiter ten minutes to take our order. But once we ordered, the food all came out quickly and the attention we received from the server picked up. We started our meal with the shumai appetizer which was pretty good. We had the green curry with chicken which was very flavorful and I liked the fact it was full of vegetables. We also had the drunken noodles with shrimp which was delicious. Beware the meal does not come with rice, you must order is separately. Every time we go to Santa Barbara we always go to Your Choice. It's our favorite place and the home made ice cream is to die for. I love the cookies and Thai tea and the Vietnamese coffee mud pie. Their customer service is great and interior is very hip. We had their pumpkin curry, pad Thai, Apple fish and duck salad. According to Santa Barbara standards, Your Choice is probably one of the best Thai resturants. Keep in mind there's probably only 4 though. With that said, the customer service is superb. The waitresses are all very friendly and accomodating. The menu offers a huge variety of Thai dishes that range from appetizers, soups, entrees, side dishes, desserts, rice, noodles, etc. Levels of spicyness is an option for many items as well. The menu overall is overwhelming for someone who may have no idea what he or she wants to eat. Dishes are served in fairly LARGE portions. One of my favorites is the green curry fried rice. I've also tried the entrees such as the Naked Fish and Seafood flower which are both pretty good, but beware, entree dishes are very salty and simply shouldn't be eaten without rice. read more

Every time I come here on vacation with my family we always crave Your Choice. The food is excellent and the service is very customer oriented. My husband loves their ice cream particularly the Vietnamese mud pie and their Thai tea ice cream. I always order the apple fish and their duck salad with sticky rice. It always hits the spot! For really home cooked Thai food this is the place you want to dine! All the staff are extremely helpful and will make sure the food suits your particular palate. Some of my favorites are the ground chicken and eggplant special and of course all the noodle dishes! However, I must admit I've never had anything here that I have not truly enjoyed. The food here is delicious, but the service was just god awful. 45 minutes gone by since we ordered and no one even checked in to tell us the food was coming or fill up our waters.. when we complained they brought the food right out. I have accidentally added their home made chilie plum sauce (which was for their spring rolls) into my dum kha soup and it was awesome! Your Choice Thai truly has a choice for everyone - the menu is huge - and the choices are delicious! Both times I have visited this restaurant, I have visited as a vegan with omnivorous friends. Their menu states that most items can be made vegan, and there's a sign advertising vegan ice cream which I have yet to try but need to soon! On my first visit, I got the green curry with mixed vegetables. It came in an interestingly shaped bowl and had an excellent medley of fresh veg. The base was deliciously creamy as well. On my second visit, I got the tofu salad, which was citrusy and loaded with cilantro, super refreshing. We also got the vegan spring rolls (fried, not fresh like I prefer, but still good) and the Thai iced tea (very sweet, but that's to be expected). This is my favorite Thai restaurant in SB!! I don't know why I haven't found it sooner. I love their satay chicken and beef. The peanut sauce is just perfect! Their spicy basil fried rice is definitely spicy, true Thai flavors. I also really love their street noodles here. It's a lot bigger in portion and way cheaper than Empty Bowl. The best part about this place is their homemade ice cream with fried bananas! The coconut jackfruit is a definite must-try. I like the Thai tea and the Vietnamese coffee ice cream too but I don't think the brownie bits/mud pie belong in the ice cream. This is a quaint little Thai restaurant that I have gone to countless times over the years and I always order the Tom Yum soup for my table, and we will just eat it communal style, oh, and lots of egg rolls. Everything on the menu is wonderful and I love the mango curry chicken but the homemade ice cream's are awesome with original flavors. This is usually my date night if she wants Thai. read more

Food pricey compared back in l.a. Of course it's Santa barbara. Least portion size was good. Tried the drunken noodles, pad see ew, spicy Fried Rice, tom kha gai soup,Thai Ice tea and green yes Matcha. I asked for extra spicy and got it for drunken noodles and fried rice. I can do without bamboo in the noodles. Pretty delicious. All of the dishes, except tom kha gai soup. Not all Thai restaurants can make it on point and this one is didn't. It was salty and didn't have chilli oil at the top. Green yes Matcha sooo good! Service was slow, but friendly. Take it I hate. Seems like one if the lady there has a hearing problem. Over the phone and in person. They got my order wrong before and I had to wait.she apologized fine, but no common sense .what I don't like is how they would put my noodles in the small Chinese carton box. It squished the noodles. You can't compact noodles like that! How cheap can you be seriously, put it in a regular size box. 4/5 of our party found the food to be DELICIOUS. 1/5 said 'good'. We ordered pineapple fried rice and chicken sa-tay served with peanut sauce. A little pricey but worth the experience. Service was ok; took a long time to get our bill after the initial request but they were busy. Their parking is awful. Half of the parking slots are in one direction, the others are in the other direction. The landlord should address this obvious and decades old problem. read more

Came to this little Thai joint on State Street just west of the San Roque/Las Positas Road intersection where things slowly start to nosedive into tourist trap hell once you cross it to the east. Also it's just northwest of a mall that once had a supermarket called Fazio's. So we walked into this place for dinner and got seated right away. Clientele looked to be mostly students. We had the Tom Kha as a starter and even though it wasn't very spicy it was as good as any I've ever had - a friend of mine used to call it Angel Spit Soup since it tastes like something heavenly. This soup qualified for that description. We also had the Lychee Curry - the lychee adding a nice exotic touch to the curry. All this went down very well with Chang beer. Service was very attentive. I love Your Choice, even though I'm not a huge fan of Thai food in general. The service is good and the decor is nice (even if it's a little dated). The food is also really good--I really like the pad Thai and several of my friends recommend the eggplant curry. The tom yum soup is also pretty good. I've heard that this is the best Thai place in town, although it's the only one I've been to around here, so I can't confirm that. I'd definitely recommend it, and I know I'll keep coming back. read more
