I ordered the General Tsos chicken as well, but didn't really need it because there was plenty in the bowl of noodles that I had. So if you're dining for one, you really only need one item. If I could choose between the two, I would definitely go with the noodles over the chicken. I was able to call and place a phone order so everything was ready when I arrived. They also have online orders, but typically phone orders are better. The place was super busy with lots of takeout orders and people in the tiny little dining area. The kitchen had numerous cooks in it, and they were all working at full capacity. It's tucked away in a little shopping center, and there's not much parking so be prepared for that. The food was outstanding, I was skeptical when I first walked in as I was the only person in the restaurant but a few minutes later it was filled with regulars enjoying dinner. I eat here once a week. My favorite thing to eat here is the Szechuan Lo-Mein. It has chicken, beef, and shrimp and it's cooked to perfection. So much flavor in every bite. The workers are all friendly and hard working. My favorite employee there is Tan, she always welcomes me by my name and is always smiling and such a hard worker. It's not that big inside but you can always order it to go, and the portions are a good size. There is an abundant of meat compared to the ratio of noodles or rice. The fried rice is not too oily. The shrimp, pork, and beef is perfectly cooked. I have tried their fried rice and noodle dishes such as lo mein and mei fun and they are all winners. The egg rolls are large, fresh, perfectly fried. Probably the best in town. The servers are prompt, helpful, and friendly and the interior is clean and has a cute panda motif. I can't wait to try their pho. Overall, this place is a winner. Shoutout to Yelp Elite Angela for turning me on to this delicious and authentic noodle spot. The Vietnamese and Chinese dishes reign supreme and this spot made for a tasty lunch. Pang Zi Noodle Soup is a super cute and cozy little mom and pop restaurant located on the border of Goleta and SB, pretty easy to access as it's off the freeway. Thankfully they had their own shared but private parking lot so it made getting in and out to dine here a breeze. The restaurant itself is super cute and small. Loved all of their panda decor and when sitting inside it felt very cozy, casual, and intimate. Love also that this place fills up with locals and regulars. When I first walked in I was the only one but within 15 minutes every table was full. This is definitely a popular spot and local hangout. And I can see why. The food is delicious and the staff are super nice. I went with Angela's recommendations (her photos looked so good) and opted for their lunch special of the General Tso Chicken with egg fried rice and then a huge portion of their Chicken Mei Fun. Both dishes were a 5/5. The food is all made fresh to order and it comes out sizzling hot. The portion sizes are very large and appropriate as much dishes are about $15 give or take. I had plenty of leftovers so it's a very good value. The General Tso Chicken was perfectly sweet and savory. The mild spiced orange glaze sauce was very nice and the chicken is large chunks of white meat chicken, my preference. Their egg fried rice was the perfect accompaniment to the chicken. The Chicken Mei Fun was the standout dish though and a must order! Love the thin little noddles and the chicken had the best smoky grilled flavor. Plenty of egg and just great flavor of the noodles. I used to have to drive to LA for dishes like this and so happy I found a spot with great noodles here in the 805. The staff could not be lovelier and everyone was so friendly and attentive. They gave a good amount of check-in's and made me feel like a valued customer even though I was not one of their regulars. They sat me at a really nice small table by the window and it was very comfortable And created a great dining experience. They care about service and it was such a nice place to dine. Pang Zi Noodle Shop is one of my new favorite spots to dine at. I've been here several times already, and the food never disappoints! I'm addicted to their Mei Fun Wok Fired egg noodles with chicken. I like how thin they are, making it easier for me to eat more without feeling guilty. The portion size is generous, and the these noodles are full of wok fired flavor. I usually order mine ahead of time since this place tends to get busy during the noon lunch rush. My food is always hot and ready to go when I arrive. I've also tried the chicken lo mein which is made with a thicker noodle, tossed with a variety of veggies and your choice of protein. The crab rangoons are a great starter. They are loaded with cream cheese and have a hint of crab flavor. Not sure if they use real crab, but I'm guessing its imitation. Nonetheless, still a good app to order. The customer service is always friendly, and I appreciate the smiles and warm welcome whenever I stop by. My hats off to the chef(s) in the kitchen preparing the food. Clearly they are passionate about serving up the best of the best and it was definitely love at first bite for me. The bad news is they are closed Monday and Tuesday, but open the rest of the week and weekends. The parking lot is pretty small and limited with spaces, but there is parking down the street. Overall, I'm so glad we have a restaurant that brings something different to the table. This is hands down the best Chinese/Vietnamese spot in town, and their Orange Chicken has completely ruined all other Orange Chicken for me, including places in LA. As someone who tracks macros, I also appreciate that they use real chunks of chicken breast with minimal batter. This portion is also massive enough to feed two IFBB Pro professional bodybuilders. The pho and shrimp spring rolls are also consistently incredible. Everything tastes fresh, balanced, and genuinely home-cooked. You can tell the chef truly cares about the food ingredients. And OMG those egg rolls... delicate, and satisfying, and will be in my dreams for a while. The vermicelli was excellent, loved the prep on shredded cucumbers and carrots and shredded lettuce. My only complaint is that there were a ton of veggies and probably half a head of lettuce, and not a ton of noodles to go around. The flavor was so good, but I would have called it more of a salad based on the proportions of each ingredient. But I enjoyed the heck out of it, and would order again, and maybe ask for a little extra portion of noodles? I noticed that nearly every table had an order of orange chicken on it. The staff is super nice and I felt very welcomed once I arrived. I ordered the Singapore noodles, Szechwan lo mein, chive and shrimp egg rolls, and bok choy. I loved every dish!! The Singapore noodles had a yummy curry flavor and the variety of meats made it even better. The Szechuan noodles didn't have an overpowering Szechuan flavor which I liked. Sometimes the tingly sensation is too much, but this was just enough. The shrimp egg rolls were super crispy and I loved that it had a whole shrimp in each egg roll.
