Caution- great people to talk to but they did not show up to me move me until 24 hrs later. I closed on Friday 2/21 and they were supposed to move me that afternoon. i knew they had a big job they were doing Wed, Thurs into Friday. That said, they said they would move me on Friday. i called several times, sent a text, sent an email- nothing. I literally sat at a bar with tears in my eyes not knowing what to do. If they just called me and said they couldn't move me to Saturday, then I would have at least known they still were going to show up. I was posting all over fb for help, couldn't get a Uhaul until mid Saturday afternoon, it was just horrible. These people were just so nice I never thought I would have been leaving a bad review on them. in the end; I got a call at 2pm from the husband (Dan) I let him know how horrible this was to do to someone. i was in such a bind, I still had them come. I give stars to the guys that moved me but 1 star for what this couple did to me. The emotional stress they caused me will never be forgotten. To note: they did charge me more than my estimate and had the moving guys charge me, again they did not answer my call when I tried to call. i just paid it! I do look forward to my new home and adventures here in Maine but beware that this may happen to you know matter how nice they seem. read more

ONCE AGAIN, Your Family Move was right there to help us with another move. Sadly, this move was to clean out my father in law's apartment for he had just passed away. When I told them we were going to donate all his furniture ( it was only 5 months old) YFM offered to take the items to a donation center for us. Really? You have no idea how thrilled we were let them take that pressure off us. I didn't mention, I made the call and there they were the very next day taking care of everything for us. Beware: might get charged double of what they quote on the phone. They (Sarah) provided me a quote on the phone and then on the day of the move the person helping us changed the quote to be DOUBLE of what I was told on the phone. We were told it was going to be $175 for three people for a two hour minimum. They only sent two people, and charged us three hour minimum (despite the move only taking two hours), in addition to ~$150 in travel costs (even though on the phone we were told they had a job closer to Portland so the travel costs will be lower). When I told them that it didn't match the quote and that he should call Sarah to confirm, he said he couldn't grab hold of her (which in the first place is a red flag) and I should call the main office on Monday. I called the main office number then to confirm if that was the right number, and it went straight to the mover's cellphone. He said they all get the office number forwarded to their phones. Seemed very sketch since it seems he could have grabbed hold of Sarah if he wanted to. We were getting late for our move, and so we decided to pay the amount they asked for but left a note on the receipt saying it is to be confirmed with Sarah so we could get the money back based on the estimate. Of course, since then I have called the main office every single day but no one responds. They seem to have blocked my number. I have left them voicemails, email through the online contact form on their website, but nothing. Then I read some google reviews online, and realized it seems to have happened with other people as well. I wasn't the first one. Then it all clicked. What I thought was an honest mistake by them, seems to be actually intentionally malicious. Needless to say, I will contact my credit card company and better business bureau to report this practice. Avoid this moving company! They moved us into a storage unit but when we booked them to move us back into our house, they did not show up. I called to check in and was told that they were running late and would call soon with an update. Never heard from them again, and absolutely no response to multiple calls and texts from us. Really happy with the job Danny and Freddie did on my move. They were friendly, professional, and even went and above and beyond by removing and disposing of some ruined, old furniture (including a very large couch) without a problem or complaint. Horrible scheduling and communication. Charged more than $1k over the estimate. But great crew. Would 100% not use them again or recommend them. Full story below. I contacted them to get a quote on our move and got quoted a 3 person crew for packing and moving for $2,731 for a one day move on a Saturday. I also said I need unpacking services which were quoted at an additional $140. I got a call from them prior to the move asking if they could come the day before to prep/pack which I said was no problem. Having not heard from them since, I contacted them the day before the move to request a 9:15am start time on Friday to which they said no problem they'd be there. 11am on Friday no movers had arrived yet and I had no calls from them. I called to find out what was going on. They said they were behind on a job and could they come later. I had to call them back to figure out our schedule as we were closing on our house that day. I called them back to request 4pm which they said they could do and start to prep even though it was late in the day. By 4:30pm no movers and no phone call. I called again and spoke to them and they said they were still behind on the job and could they come and do the whole thing tomorrow. I said I was beginning to lose my confidence in them that they could get this done and they assured me they could and would be there at 8am the next day with a full crew ready to work. On Saturday the movers arrived and were completely wonderful, nothing but good things to say about them. They worked fast and hard and got all of our stuff moved as promised. We asked when the other crew would be there to do the packing. They said they'd call and ask. I then followed up maybe 4-5 more times throughout the afternoon asking if they'd heard yet about the unpacking. They kept assuring me I'd get a call from Sara. No call ever came. Another guy in the crew said he thought they were coming tomorrow (Sunday). Even though it was not ideal and I assumed it was all going to take place the same day, although I wasn't sure since I had not clarified that, I assumed I was in the wrong and didn't know the business and said that was fine, I was home all day tomorrow but I needed to know what time so I could plan my day as my husband was going out of town. I was promised Sara would call. Then all of the movers left except one who stayed behind to give us our bill. It was over $4,000, which was way more than the $2,731 I was quoted. I told this to them and brought up the estimate on my phone I had gotten prior to the move. Then they took some money off the invoice to not charge for labor during packing, but it still came out to $3,802. Looking more closely they had charged for a 5 person crew instead of the 3 person crew that was quoted, and fuel was almost double what was quoted as well, and packing materials were also much more. They were very nice and said that they'd have the person who did the estimate, Sara, call me, but I had to pay the $3,802. So I paid the $3,802 and asked for them to make sure she called me. And so we could schedule the unpacking for the next day. It's now almost 10pm, I've emailed and haven't heard from them yet. I'm sum, I loved the crew and they were great but the lack of communication on this job was unacceptable from the not showing up when they said they were going to the day before, to changing more than $1k over the estimate, to the lack of communication about the unpacking, and I can't recommend them and would not use them again. read more

First, I apologize to the amazing owner for taking so long to get around to this much deserved review. The owner and I had spoken a few weeks prior to me actually using their service. After 90% of my move was finished and I had left the state it became imperative that the other 10% be done immediately. I contacted the owner again who remembered my situation and arranged for movers within 48 hours. My daughter met them and said they were super fast and efficient! Danny and his team were terrific! Danny helped move us out of a storage unit and into our newly remodeled home in Ogunquit. They were careful with our things and didn't make a mess. My first interaction with Sarah was overwhelmingly positive so I booked my move. Having moved a number of times with much larger companies in Massachusetts, I was excited about working with a local family business in Maine. I was shocked to learn of additional terms, conditions, and fees AFTER the move. I urge you to make sure you get a complete disclosure in writing in advance of your move. Make sure it includes hourly rates, any travel and fuel fees, and notice of the possibility of team size changing. On the positive side, the movers themselves were pleasant, they used a carpet to keep from tracking things into the home and one of the three movers wore a mask. read more

Your Family Move was amazing to work with. The communication with them was constant and they were very flexible with me during a busy time for them when my closing date kept getting pushed back. They were extremely accommodating with my fluid situation. They arrived on time at my storage unit and the three guys who initially started were super friendly, efficient and VERY quick. My large storage unit was emptied in no time. Danny (the owner) and another guy showed up to move the job even quicker. Once they arrived at my home (it was brand new), they took the time to make sure every surface was covered/padded before they came in with my boxes/furniture. They moved in everything to the exact place I wanted and Danny made sure to emphasize that if things needed to be changed, it was no problem. I messed up the locations of the beds and they switched them up immediately. They took back all the trash and boxes that I was able to unpack while they were still there. They even moved several back to my storage unit when it wouldn't fit in the house. I have moved probably 10 times in my life (to include several overseas moves) and this was by far the easiest and quickest. I seriously felt like I was dealing with a bunch of friends who were helping me move. It was a very "small town" feel and I cannot recommend them enough. Great job Danny, Sara and crew!! read more
