It would be difficult to describe just how unprofessional this company is. Their incompetence is one thing, but it's their dishonesty and lack of desire to do right by their customers that is truly remarkable. Before you hire them, I would recommend checking out their BBB page and googling the lawsuit that the State of Maine won against them for bullying and harassing customers that left bad reviews. You can also see the unhinged responses from the owner to other bad reviews (and probably this one too!) on Google, on Yelp, and on BBB. I cannot encourage you strongly enough to stay away from this company. I hired them to receive, store, and then transport furniture and decor to a new house. At first we were very happy with their communication. Upon delivery, however, when we assessed what had been received, we realized that a number of items were missing. At first they told us that they had never received the missing products. They went so far as to tell us that they had reviewed the security footage from the reported delivery dates of those goods and could confirm that they were not received. Then, however, I tracked down delivery receipts from the delivery companies. Slowly but surely Liberty Bell started to somehow find our "undelivered" items in their warehouse. (In their defense, two of the items had not been properly sidemarked by the shipping company. The rest of the misplaced items were completely Liberty Bell's fault.) Liberty Bell refused to deliver the goods that had been misplaced by them. We had to pick them up from their warehouse. I eventually reordered the products that they still hadn't found. They have refused to credit me for this replacement cost. They ended up finding the smaller and cheaper of the two items after I had already ordered a replacement. They refused to pay my return costs for the replacement. Nearly four weeks later, they still haven't found the $1300 table that the owner himself signed into the warehouse upon delivery, and nor will they credit us for its replacement. Liberty Bell had also delivered to us multiple items that were not ours (i.e. that were owned by other paying customers of theirs). Though I told them this multiple times, as I write, nearly four weeks from their initial delivery, they still have not picked up the items. read more

On August 27, 2021, we used Liberty Bell Moving and Storage out of Saco, Maine to pack our POD. We rented a 16' x 8' x 8' POD for a long distance move prior to selling our home in Acton, Maine. First we listed our move requirements on their website. I had some specific questions about our move. A Liberty Bell representative responded in 15 minutes. We set up a date and time for the move itself. On moving day, Liberty Bell texted to confirm the movers were on their way. Two young men showed up, looked at the job and began working. They moved furniture from 3 levels of our home quickly and efficiently. The two movers were also courteous and polite. They were cautious moving our furniture and did not leave a mark or scratch on a wall or wardrobe. I watched as they carefully packed the POD with furniture blankets and secured the all the heavy pieces. I would highly recommend Liberty Bell Moving and Storage based on our experience. read more

I used them to do a local move about 3 miles and I paid for 3 professional movers and I got 1 with his 14 year old son who knew nothing about moving. It was by the hour and it took them 14 hours. It was 3 rooms of furniture, 2 rooms of boxed items from our move from the Midwest 4 months earlier and probably 10 pieces of furniture and maybe 10 boxes in the walkout basement. I usually don't like to leave bad reviews but I will make an exception for Liberty Bell Moving and Storage. This business was bad in so many different ways. They have awful communication and are flatout disrespectful when they do communicate. For this business to improve they need a more competant owner if you ask me. I think the problems start at the top and work there way down. The only good thing that came out of using them was that according to there questionable billing invoice I still owed them about $1800 I think. We used this company in 2020 for a 2 hour move for $200. Used them again in 2023... This guy is a con artist, and he flags every bad review a customer leaves so his business doesn't look bad. He charged us an additional $200 without us authorizing the charges after we paid a $500 security deposit for just a 2-hour moving help. He's been sued by the state of Maine for $125,000 and he tried to fight the case without a lawyer and lost bad. Then fled to North Carolina to hide out. His very own employees told us how much of a con artist he is and how he even scammed them into moving to Maine and working for him. Don't use them. Notice all his negative posts he claims are "FAKE" and a video link to Youtube talking about people posting fake reviews on Yelp and Google. Kevin is a straight up coward and refuses to take responsibility for his fraud. My wife and I are really considering reaching out to Maines AG about his business practices. read more

Liberty Bell Moving scammed me. I paid $438.00 to have a 370 pound soaking tub moved from the house entrance to the second floor. They arrived at the house took measurements and attempted to move tub but only got 8 feet and had to return the tub to entrance. I asked for refund and he told me they moved the tub and I had no refund coming. The person I talked to was totally unprofessional. They did not get the job done and still took my money. I am so upset that I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in the Stste of Maine. read more

Liberty bell moving doesn't even have an actual location in Portland. the address is a residential home. the owner loves to tout how they are the biggest movers in Maine yet his entire business model is built on lies and deception. the only legitimate location they have is in Windham, me. when a customer has their things stored at one of many nonexistent storage facilities their items are actually being stored in Windham me. if you have items being stored by this company you should verify exactly where these items are actually being stored. the biggest movers in Maine are nothing but smoke and mirrors. read more

Didnt use their services but inquired with them late on a Saturday and they responded Sunday with a quote. Needed a last minute crew to move heavy items on Monday and they were there to help if needed. Have some family helping out so we will keep them in mind in the future. Recently used these guys for an in-state move in Maine. They were very responsive and had a quote back to me very quickly. I was kept in the loop via email every step of the way. The guys were prompt, thorough and gentle with my stuff. Lastly, I thought that the price was very reasonable considering the work that was done. I've never moved with movers before, but my boyfriend and I have terrible joint problems and should not lift heavy things. I did some research and landed on Liberty Bell. We were SO PLEASED. I got a prompt e-mail from the owner Kevin, and the rates were totally reasonable. The movers showed up right when they said they would. They were friendly, efficient, and really knew what they were doing. Nothing was damaged in the move, and they got it all done in basically 3 hours flat. I've moved bigger places before with a TEAM of people, and it took all day. Should we ever need to move again, we'll call Liberty Bell, and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Liberty Bell was a great company to work with. They replied promptly to emails called to confirm dates and times. The two guys who came to move us were outstanding.
