CHRIS and his team; DEVON, MATT and RYAN helped me move my senior parents over this past weekend and they are fantastic! They delivered bins to our home a week prior to the move which gave us time to pack in an organized, non-rushed fashion. I was able to label the bins as to which room each bin was going to go in and we were given plenty of time after the move to empty the bins and they came and picked them up when we were finished emptying them. They made two extra stops for me dropping items that we no longer needed. Devon Matt and Ryan went over and above to help me to complete this moving process seamlessly. When I called for an estimate Chris came over the same day to assess my house and give me a quote. We recently moved from a 1 bedroom condo to a 2 bedroom condo in Portland. The moving experience with Chris and SC was very positive. I liked the fact that Chris, the owner, was always the one to answer the phone when I called no matter what time of day or night. It's clear he takes great pride and accountability in his business. We got started with a free in home estimate. Chris walked around, took stock of all that would need to be moved, and gave us some tips on how to make the move easier and quicker come moving day. He also let us know we could rent bins from him instead of having to buy boxes and tape (the bins ended up working great!). Before he left, we had an estimate on the time and cost of the move which were both quite reasonable. On moving day, 3 of his guys showed up right on time (if not 5 minutes early). All of them were polite and friendly. They quickly toured the condo to determine their best plan of attack and got started shortly thereafter. They wrapped all items they felt should be wrapped, took apart our 'pain in the butt' bedframe and put all of the hardware in a bag for safe keeping, and got us cleared out quickly. They even put the bed back together again once they got it into our new place. At the end of the day, they finished 30-40 minutes quicker than anticipated. None of our furniture was damaged in the process. Just a solid experience all the way around. Chris even let us keep the bins for a few days longer than we technically should have (with no extra charge) because our place was being painted and we couldn't unpack! We really appreciated that. I could not have asked for better service from a moving company! From the beginning, Chris was responsive to my e-mails to get a quote for this move despite the relatively short notice for an interstate move (ME to NH). I was able to securely pay my deposit online to secure the date. One improvement I could suggest is that I needed to call the day before my move to find out what time the movers were coming but I was pleased that I was able to get someone on the phone who could answer my questions promptly. On the morning of the move, the two movers arrived right on time with all the supplies they needed (and spares!) and had masks on which made me feel comfortable having them in my home. I quickly showed them what needed to be moved and they got to work moving my belongings down three flights of stairs well within the 2-hour window I was quoted. They wrapped up my furniture with blankets & cling wrap to ensure my belongings would be shipped safely. They were polite and professional and asked questions as needed. When we arrived at my new home in NH, they unloaded my belongings in just about 30 minutes. I was so nervous hiring movers because I've always just done it myself but this experience showed me that this is 100% the way to move! We recently moved across country using a pod. I requested a quote from Chris at SC moving some time in advance to unload the unit for us...BUT our pod got delayed therefore changing the unloading date. Chris didn't hesitate to work with me even though he was already booked for the weekend we ended up needing help. Chris showed up with two helpers after their normal working hours and made sure to get it done even considering other difficulties like locked gates on the premises! They unloaded our things carefully and super quickly! SC Moving helped us with move from Falmouth to Rhode Island last week. These guys are amazing. They helped us so much! We needed loaders to help us load up our three bedroom house into a UHaul, and Chris and his team were that and much more. Chris is a real professional. He and his team wrapped up our furniture, loaded it up into the truck so it fit perfectly (he's probably great at Tetris!) and everything was strapped down and secure. He was super helpful before the load too, advising us to get a UHaul truck because they are easier to load, and on how big a truck to get and how many blankets. Plus, their rates were really reasonable! Way cheaper than a full service move for us, but it still felt like a full service move because Chris knew what he was doing. They have their own truck so they can be full service movers, too, and they really know how to protect furniture and load up a truck so it all fits. I highly recommend SC Moving to anyone in the greater Portland area looking for any kind of moving help. And as an amazing bonus, Chris offered to find cleaning help for us if we needed it and haul stuff to the dump if we needed it. When we arrived in Rhode Island our unloading help were totally blown away at the fantastic job SC Moving did loading up our truck. They made what is usually a stressful experience much, much easier.
