That being said, let me list the ways that from that perspective, I can provide you with my 4-star review and why they don't get a 5th star. 1. They are creative - I don't mean, they know how to use crafts and make pretty things. I mean that they have a staff and student body that is committed to creating what they envision and they WILL create it. They have the know-how and motivation to do that. 2. I am actress - from that perspective, I have been on several sets with Watkins directors, producers, production designers, ADs and DPs and they are fun-loving and ready to work. They're not afraid of a challenge. 3. Organizationally they've come a long way (sans the final star). Having worked with a local production company as a producer/and various other titles, I've found that communication is key. I will simply state that one must be ready to be open, prompt, and particularly amiable with clients they need to keep and new clients they'd like to work with long-term. It's a relationship and those take work. Finally, I like this school very much, from my POV. It's a great opportunity for creatives who attend and those who'd like to help create (moi) something memorable - something that will be there to reflect upon and hopefully, frame by frame, help to inspire and influence minds and create future filmmakers and individuals who will do so with integrity. There you have it. Take it or leave it. Or try it out for yourself. :)

Get your hands dirty and develop a new hobby!…read more This art studio and gallery offers 2D printing, painting, drawing and ceramics classes. I've taken the ceramics classes here with a focus on wheel throwing and I love it! Becca is an awesome instructor and allows the class to be free to create, but also helps to steer you in the right direction. I'll be taking the summer class here in May. I've been throwing on the wheel off and on for about 15 years now and the intermediate class offered here is perfect for shaking off the cobwebs. They do offer beginner ceramic classes if you're looking to just dip your toe into the ceramic slip. The classes are about $100 for 8- 12 weeks and the cost includes your clay. For comparison other ceramic classes can start $300! I know I'm about to blow up my own cozy quiet nook of Nashville, but if that means the community discovers and supports this arts center... I'm here for it!

"The mission of Metro Parks and Recreation's Visual Arts Program is to provide and expand quality art and cultural experiences within Metro Parks' facilities via classes, workshops, art exhibitions and gallery/museum field trips for the citizens and visitors of Metro Nashville, Davidson County." Ample parking, two large classrooms. One for painting and one for clay. They offer classes several times a year, usually about 12 weeks each. A nice place to create, learn, meet, network, enhance your skills.

The Real Estate Commission, composed mostly of Real estate licensees (77% by law), has taken on the task of feeding these "real estate schools" a massive stream of cash vis a vis Commission requirements. There is ZERO, ZERO, ZERO instructional design to this course. They have no idea what understanding, content, testing, reinforcement, or retention are. They don't know what the first rule of learning is. The have never heard of ADDIE, and the highest level of technology utilized in this course - is a credit card point of sale terminal. This is government level COMPLIANCE; it has nothing to do with training. I did not need to pay $375 for someone to read a book to me (anyone who needs someone to read a book to them, cannot pass this test anyway) - that is simply NOT "training." This is, at best, a misguided fleece job by the Tennessee State Real Estate Commission to pump money into the schools THEY APPROVE. I am fully capable of reading a book and taking a test. Have you actually seen a detailed syllabus? What is the approval process by the state other than a compliance of TIME of study? Seriously? The state mandates that an applicant receive 60 hours of training, but don't demand course content actually train students - come on. I wa told that 85% of CLI students pass on the first attempt. 1). THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE based on the class I attended. 2). Get ANY statement of pass ratio in writing - but I personally guarantee they will not give it to you, which means.. 3) Any training course that isn't guaranteed, is exactly that!!! Any student that would pay $375 for a training course and then fail the course without the ability to be retrained for taking the test again - at no additional charge - is appropriate. One of the instructors actually made fun of handicapped persons in class while "teaching" a subject. The instructor said hurtful things about mental health care. These people should be setting a professional tone for the future employees of an industry - not ifosterin / facilitating discrimination. This is a money machine; nothing more and nothing less. It was a waste.
