Beware!!!! We put our name in to win $1000 off of a bathroom remodel at a trade show. They ended up calling us and offering a free estimate. We agreed thinking it would be a quick easy estimate so we could get an idea of how much it would cost to tile our shower. The guy who came to do the estimate was at our house FOR TWO AND A HALF HOURS. Measuring our shower only took about fifteen minutes and the rest of the time he had a literal presentation complete with slides and videos. He went over everything from how it is manufactured to droning on about the grout. I mentioned multiple times I had other plans and needed to leave but he assured me it was "just a few more minutes". It got to the point of absurdity. The estimate began at 6pm and he didn't leave until after 8pm. My partner and I were both starving because we were waiting to cook dinner until after he left but the problem was he wouldn't leave. And finally, after all that time and his presentation he finally revealed that to tile our shower it would cost $31,000. I almost laughed out of my chair. Please do not waste your time. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. It took 8 months for them to finally instal my windows and brought the wrong windows the first time they tried so I had to wait another 6 weeks. They were impossible to get a hold of during this process. For as much money as these windows cost I would at LEAST hope that they would be upfront and honest about the timeline instead of lying to me and answer their phones or call me back when I left messages. They sold me a $25,000 roof and gutter installation. I paid $5,000 cash on the day of sale. They kept telling me that they would be installing my roof "this week" 4 times. The called me 2 days after their last install promise date to tell me their installer is not licensed in Minnesota and needs to renew his license. I filed a BBB complaint and they refunded me $500 keeping my $4500 because of "costs" they accrued. I got 2 other quotes for the same job and I was told $16,400 and $17,000. So I was already paying a premium and they kept lying to me about when my roof would be installed. read more

Zero Stars. I would not recommend this Company or Windows they sell to anyone. What the sales person promised and sold me was very different from what I received and the sales person told me that he agreed to that in a text to me. I purchased six double hung and one slider Heritage windows(never again) in April 2021 and they were installed in May 2021. All of the windows had defects (seals on the corners of the outside pane all had gaps in them) so they had to reorder all 7 windows. I was told when I purchased the windows that the people installing them went through special training to install them, but no one noticed that all the windows had obvious defects, so I am not sure if their "special training" happened. The blame was placed on the window manufacturer and their quality control process. I had to continually call to get updates on when the windows would be ordered and when they would get here, but eventually the CS Manager learned I wasn't going to stop calling and did much better on follow up. I was told my windows would get delivered to the St Cloud location in September (5 months after being reordered). I was also told that my windows would be inspected prior to being installed to make sure they were defect free but I don't think that happened. September 24, 2021 the 7 windows were being installed but it was discovered that one sash had broken glass and another window had a broken handle. So far Your Home Improvement Co has never accepted responsibility for anything, they blame it all on the manufacturer. So after 5 months of waiting, I now need to wait for the remaining 2 windows to be replaced and was told maybe another 6-8 weeks so maybe sometime in November 2021. read more

I would give a zero if possible. This company is ridiculously overpriced and unethical. The company came to us through Home Depot Home Services. Once in my home, YHIC's bid was for their product, not Home Depot's. Additionally, it was expected that we, the homeowners provide all the hardware for them to install. YHIC's bid for replacing a bathtub/tub surround and a shower surround in a separate bathroom was $27,630. There was an additional charge of $2,100 if we chose a framed shower door or $4,600 if we chose a frameless shower door. Soaking tubs at Home Depot range from $483 to $1,196. For our size shower, framed shower doors range from $184 to $799; frameless shower doors range from $349 to $1,629. Installation costs for either a tub or the shower is about $1,000 each, so...this company is a total ripoff. Don't be fooled! You can have a local plumber remove a tub and install a wonderful new tub for about $2,000. It will cost another $2,000 for a surround or tile depending on the tile you choose. That's $4,000...not $14,000! The sale's rep kept telling us that bathrooms cost around $30,000 and his bid was only half that amount. Thirty thousand dollar bathrooms are those that take the room to the studs, not just install a new tub. Run from this company! read more

Zero stars. Please be careful when selecting repair companies as there are terrible companies such as this one. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a home repair company. We had to have put in new windows by a specific date. We did a lot of research and had seven window companies come to our home to give us quotes. This company was MUCH higher in price but promised to have the windows done in just 4-6 weeks. The first window was installed in 8 weeks and the second window was measured incorrectly. We had to wait another 7 weeks for the company to measure the window a second time, order the window, then install the window. Throughout the entire process we were the people doing the leg work, making sure the windows were being ordered, the dates were being set to install. Each time I called I would have to wait for a call back (which took 2-5 business days each time) I gave this company a chance to make it right. They were unable to fulfill their promises to us and provide us with the service that we found to be our top priority at the time. We were paying MUCH more for the service because of their promise to have it completed in a timely manner. When no one was willing to admit that their was a problem I felt so incredibly taken advantage of. It was the most disappointing experience. I really hope this review helps others! We used them to get new siding. They worked with the loan company Green Sky on the phone while we sat and waited and then relayed us the information. We were told our monthly payments would be about $200 which we were fine with, so we agreed. We ended up having to increase our loan a little bit and we were told it would increase the payments by maybe $7 bringing our monthly payments up to $207, that still worked. We just got our statement from Green Sky and our payments are $313. The representatives from YHIC that came to our home lied to our faces and rarely showed up to our house on time when they needed to stop by and discuss things, often showing up around bedtime. To top it all off, the job was supposed to take 5-10 days and took four weeks to complete, and we're still waiting for them to come back and fix little things around the house. read more

My experience with 'Your Home Improvement Company, LLC' was in my opinion a horror story. The sales representative Blake missed two scheduled appointments and was 40-minutes late for the third. Once the sales representative completed his estimate and sales pitch, I was not left with a written estimate for the work to be performed. Instead I was left with a postcard with a telephone number on it. Based on my experience with this company, I cannot recommend them for any work. If a company won't even show up for the estimate or show up on time, why would I expect them to be trustworthy to show of for the work they are hired for or even trustworthy to complete the work. read more

Do NOT use this Contractor....I signed them up to complete the New install of Soffit, Fascia, and Gutters on my home remodel project. They did not hold to their word on removing all the old materials and installing new, they attempted to just cover up the old rotten/broken fascia boards and left the old soffit installed....They claim that is their standard practice....Come to find out they did not even cut in ventilation in the existing wood soffit...After enough arguing they came out and cut some ventilation....Overall 100% unsatisfied with this company....I got hosed...and they hold you to the contract...take my advice, DO NOT USE THEM.. read more

If I could give zero star, I would. We had an appointment. I cleared my patient schedule for the day & spent considerable time, clearing access to my attic, etc. for their consult. Waiting for their arrival, got call from them cancelling our appt only 10 min before they were due. And, they said my appt was 1/2 later than what was set (to cover their a$$?) They rescheduled for same time the following day. Fuming. I found someone else that could come in next day slot & cancelled YHIC. They had the nerve to ask why I cancelled their reschedule. I sited their last minute cancellation, my having to rearrange my patient schedule to clear time for their visit, my having to do a couple of hours of unnecessary prepping for their visit. They said that they could not reach me the day before to confirm, so they cancelled me (10 min before appt time!). When I asked why they didn't leave msg that they were confirming, they said that is against policy. I said that people are not sitting around waiting for phone to ring & how would I know that they had called to confirm? They do not care that they inconvenienced a prospective customer due to their dumb policy and not allowing a means to return a call to confirm with them. So, later, I cancelled them for the rescheduled appt and booked someone else. (Maybe this was cosmic protection for me due to reviews about this company? They caused me to waste a day waiting for them when I could have been at my clinic, seeing patients.) I do not recommend this company. They are rude and do not respect their prospective customer's time. And, probably other problems if I had hired them. Furious as to how they wasted my day!!! read more

I only selected one star because I had to, real rank: ZERO STARS!!! STAY AWAY! LIARS! UNETHICAL! This company uses the ultimate "bait and switch" sales tactic. They came to our home, told us we would be getting high-quality, custom, hardwood kitchen cabinets, and then not once, but TWICE delivered us MDF (pressed, "fake" wood) cabinets that had chips, cracks, paint flaws, and misaligned doors. After the first time, they ADMITTED the cupboards they made for us were junk, but offered us a discount if we gave them a second chance. Figuring they would never screw us twice, we gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second time around, they AGAIN delivered crap cupboards! When we fired them and demanded our money back, they were impossible to get a hold of, no one was accountable, and we were made to feel like we were in the wrong. We ended up getting NOTHING from them, literally NOTHING, but recovered none of the money we paid up front. In total, we had to deal with this nightmare for ELEVEN months and it has left me heartbroken, sick, disgusted, poor, and at a loss as to how this company is still in business. Do yourself a favor: NEVER do business with this company & tell your friends to stay away too. read more

We used this company to remodel our kitchen, and I'm very satisfied with the work, as well as the follow-up after the job was done. We had all our cabinets/cupboards taken out and replaced, and added a cabinet/cupboard on the wall by our stove. We have a very old house, that doesn't have a straight wall, level floor/ceiling, and studs that were anywhere from 16" to 20" on center. In spite of all those irregularities, the finished project looks awesome, the cabinets are sturdy, the countertops look great and are easy to clean, and we had a countertop-to-ceiling wall splash (the same material as our countertops) installed on two sides of our kitchen range (it will be easier to clean the grease from cooking off the wall splash than it would be to clean it off a painted wall). The salesman showed us the choices we had in our price range (we made it clear how much we could afford to spend), we picked out the colors we wanted for the cabinets, countertops, and floor, he wrote up the estimate and got us the financing for it, all well within our budget. They called every week to let us know the progress on building our cabinets and see if we had any questions. They called when the cabinets were finished, and set up an appointment for the contractor to come and start work. We were told to allow a week for the work to be completed. The contractor showed up half an hour early on the scheduled start day (a Monday), and began work as soon as he had explained what he would be doing and why. Throughout the job, if something had to be done a bit differently than was originally planned, he consulted me before he changed anything. He called a plumber to do the plumbing under the sink (paid for by YHIC) and we called our plumber to move the gas line for our stove (we rotated the stove 90 degrees). The cabinets/cupboards/countertops/sink/faucet were all installed by Wednesday afternoon. He picked up the flooring, started first thing Thursday morning, and was finished by 7:30 pm that same evening. Even with an added cabinet/cupboard, our kitchen looks larger, and doesn't look as dark as it did before (we went from dark oak to light oak finish on the cabinets). I would recommend them to friends and family who are looking to remodel any part of their house - just be sure you know what you want and how much you can afford to spend. Like any company, they will try to upsell you, but their blandishments can be resisted as long as you're willing to stick to a budget. read more

Very rude and inconsiderate! First, called to cancel my appointment because I wasn't interested with an estimate on windows anymore. The wife who was the receptionist apparently "didn't get the call." The guy still shows up at my door with lots of samples and kept going on and on about his trim work and window options. I told him to give me a run down and I didn't have all the time in the world for his nonsense about financing that I kept telling him I wasn't interested in. He wouldn't leave my house! This company has persistence down to a science! It all started out about two years ago when I made the mistake of signing up for the possibility of "winning" a $10,000 home improvement package at a trade show. Then began the phone calls. Every six months or so someone would call and try their pitch again until finally a couple weeks ago I caved. Got the appointment set up and then the confirmation calls to make sure we would be home for the rep to come by. The night of the appointment arrived and we waited and waited. Finally about a half hour after the appointment time the rep called stating he was running late. Fine, we would see him when he got here. Countertops were the item at hand and after about an hour of visiting and choosing came "the decision" after having been given three payment options. We were undecided and the agreement when the rep finally realized we were not going to buy, said the quote was good for 12 months and left so he could take a money bag by the office from his last call where they had paid him thousands of dollars in cash to do the job. That being said, the next morning started the calling tactics again. This time the district manager wanted to stop by with his "special pricing". My husband set the appointment for two days later in the evening. One more call a day after that to me to confirm the appointment got me wondering. The day of the appointment there were no confirmation calls, and no manager called or stopped by that evening for the appointment they had set up! Blood was boiling by then! The next day no calls from them, but low and behold the next day the scheduler called innocently stating that she wanted to set up an appointment for the manager to come by! When I told her he did not call or show up earlier, she still tried to set up an appointment for the manager!! At that point I told her more or less to pack sand and take my name off their calling list - $10,000 home improvement or not!! After this whole thing I started doing some research and am so glad we did not get duped into doing business with this company. I only hope others who fall for this company's gimmicks will proceed very cautiously and not put all their $$ out on the table right away! Oh, the rep that came by the first night was very nice and seemed pretty sincere. Hope he gets wise and finds a different job. The girl who kept calling needs to learn better telephone etiquette too! This is a terrible company. We signed up in November for YHIC to fix structural damage in our bathroom when the tub fell through the floor . This was not cosmetic, it was a safety issue. They said they'd do it in 2 weeks, found out they didn't have a license to work in Superior, they stalled us off until February when they got the deposit check from the finance company and as of today, May 14th, we still don't have a working shower in the house since November. Now the finance company wants us to pay them that deposit back, and it will be over my dead body. After the fact, I was told by many reputable contractors how untrustworthy this company is, and how they've had to rescue several people that were held hostage by a contract for months with no work being done by YHIC. The salesmen are liars and just want a signature on a form so they can screw you over financially. Also filed a complaint with the Attorney General to investigate their bad business practices. We were pleased with the detail oriented folks we met. The salesmen were fun, helpful, and just all around good guys. Our project was completed earlier than we were initially quoted, so that was good. The quality of work was excellent. They checked with us frequently to make sure things were going well. The only complaint we had was that we wanted our original salesmen, Dave and Dusty, to come back to see the completed project and give their stamp of approval. They had helped us pick out materials, even meeting us at Home Depot. AND, we had promised them cookies and they didn't get any . Sending a new set of salesmen didn't really make sense to us because they had no connection to the project. Anyway, we would recommend Your Home Improvement to anyone. Thanks guys! read more

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO THIS COMPANY!!! This company contacted us after I dropped my name into a bucket at the mall in Bismarck, ND offering a chance to win $10,000 in home improvements. They contacted us to come and do a free home estimate on some home improvements we are thinking about. The representative, a very nice man, arrived promptly and after about 45 minutes of "getting to know us", finally got down to business somewhat. He seemed to know the business, however he was surprised at how much we knew also. We do our research on everything we put into our house and who we hire, so I was willing to allow this company to do a free estimate figuring another estimate would be more information in our corner. Anyway, over 2 hours later he finally quit talking about how amazing his company was (it was pretty obvious on our end that I was very skeptical beings that I had never heard of this company in our area and have no reference to the quality of their work) and gave us a price quote for adding insulation to our attic, our biggest need. The number he gave us was astronomical! $8800!!! We had been recently quoted at $1,800 for the same job by a reputable company in our area. We told him to take a hike, at which point he "offered" us a 15% discount for signing on the dotted line right then and there, then we would only owe him 1/2 of the amount now and the rest when the project was done, which was totally contradictory to what he had told us an hour before that no money is paid to them until the project is done. On top of that, after he left, I looked up the product he was toting that only his company had access to in the area for insulting our attic, so we would be missing out on this incredible product if we didn't have them do it for us. That product is sold at a local home improvement store! AND after some calculations, I figure we would be using about $1000-$1500 of product depending on the R-value we would get to, so the other $7800 they were charging was labor for a one day job!!!! I do not recommend this company. Once they've come to your house and got you to sign on the dotted line, it takes forever for them to start your home improvement project. We were told 4-8 weeks. Well, its now going on almost 12 weeks and still no start date in sight. One star is generous. NO stars would be my preference. Salesman seemed genuine. Sub contractor seemed to do nice work (after coming back to improve the attic insulation install) however... the management folk with this company are AWFUL. Condescending, rude, threatening. The job was completed late (6pm) on Thurs evening (Maundy Thur) and I had plans so did not do the final walk around. Also, I wanted it inspected by a licensed inspector. Saturday the manager in Apple Valley (Mike) told me if I didn't sign the completion papers that it'd be a hardship for the subcontractors. Oh well. Tues my inspector said she couldn't see any chutes. If they were there, the insulation covered them. The sub-contractors came out (Fri) to clear the chutes. Danny, the service tech from YHIC was also at my home Friday. He wanted me to sign completion papers. When he realized I wanted it inspected one more time, he told me the judge would rule in his favor (why a judge?) and then he accused me of taking the role of the victim (how about intelligent consumer with rights?) and at that point I asked him to leave my property as he continued to be rude and threatening. My inspector approved the work via photos on Sunday and then I signed the completion papers. It took six business days to finish all this; reasonable in my opinion. Oh... the sub contractor text me the last weekend before I signed to say she couldn't attend her daughters military graduation that week if I didn't sign the papers. Hmmm... really? When my son graduated at the same place, I had all my travel plans paid and done well before the week of the graduation. So, a LOT of bullying and rude and certainly unprofessional behavior from several folk. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! read more

If you want a remodeler back to your home 7 times in less than 1 year and things still aren't right, this is the company to call. Maybe if you're lucky like me, the Vice President Ryan Piepenhagen will come to your home and smoke near your 8 month old on your property without permission. If you have the pleasure of meeting Mr. Piepenhagen, be sure to ask his credentials, or maybe the lack there of. The windows and siding come from Associated Materials in Ohio. Do your diligence on this company, they treat people about as well as YHIC and there is better product available. The roof is Atlas and is carried at Menards with a better warranty offered at Menards. Speaking of warranties, I was advised by Mr. Piepenhagen that they would no longer be honoring the warranty in which a contract was signed. Again I can't stress enough, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. In closing, please don't let their sleezy sales staff make you believe that they do the work. It is all subcontracted. read more

I entered my name in a drawing box at our local mall and got a call about a week late rom these people who seemed pretty anxious to set an appt. When these guys showed up, in a dumpy car with no professional image at all in dress or behavior, they gave me the creeps by the time they left. They asked about who was all in my home including pets. They left without any kind off follow up or card or anything. Made me feel like they were staking the place out to return later.
