From the moment I walked in I did not get a great impression to to the stylist's overall demeanor. However I had already purchased my package and figured maybe I was just being paranoid, so I should give her a shot. I told her I wanted ombré and she said my appointment time was only for a three hour slot and that I would have to do something else because she needed to be done with me in that time limit. She also stated she would only do my hair a certain way because she works from the bottom up to save time. In addition she insisted what she could do was similar to what ombré will look like so no one could really notice the difference. The entire time she did my hair all she could speak of was how much she hated the groupon, and that she would be discontinuing her service and that we were lucky to have had her as she was a seasoned professional compared to other people who offer those groupons. She kept insisting that she had a time limit to meet and wouldn't blow dry our hair even if we asked because it would be extra of fifteen dollars and that she would only do a 'quick' blow dry. We were even willing to pay although this blow dry was clearly listed on the groupon as part of the package. I would never recommended anyone to go here and see this very unprofessional stylist. I had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed immediately following my appointment. Had it been done the first time and if she wasn't so lazy and rude perhaps this could have been avoided.

The appointment was SUPER easy to set up online. I scheduled my older-than-ten child for the first appointment with The Yeti Barber, a.k.a. Sam, then added on a child's cut for my 10-year-old. Once I picked a date & time and entered in my credit card to secure the spot, I was all set. Seriously, so easy! Then I got a confirmation email with the capability to add the appointment to my calendar. Since I set up the appointment in advance, I received reminder emails & a reminder text, so I didn't forget. The best of the best was walking into the shop. I was greeted by Kelsey, Ariel, and Sam. I explained the goal for each kid and Sam got right to work. They're super-friendly folks. The store itself is bright from natural sunlight and fun, colorful, and unique to Kelsey & Sam's tastes. Also, their beagle pup, Savannah, loved and was loved on by both my kids while they waited for each other to be done in the chair. Sam chatted with my kids while he worked. It's not tough to engage my kids in conversation (at least when they're not in front of a screen) but everyone seemed to enjoy the experience. My kids will say the best part of the whole experience was the hot towel at the end but I say it's their summer-ready new looks. I'll be back to spend some time with Kelsey in a couple of weeks to get my own summer "chop" and I've already got some ideas in the works for a future appointment! Book your appointment *now*. The parking lot has plenty of room. Then up the stairs to the main door on the side of the building, you enter at the desk area. The salon stations on the other side of the room are bright, comfortable and spacious. I was the only one in the salon during the time of my service, but would have felt comfortable here if there was another patron at another booth because they are spaced well. Past the stations is a large back room where I went for my wash. Again, area was very roomy and bright. My appointment was with Tracy, the salon owner. I was running about five minutes late due to icy roads, but Tracy was warm and friendly from the moment I came in the door. I have long, curly layered hair. Believe it or not, it is challenging to find a stylist who is good at cutting curly layers. If it isn't done right, you can very easily come out looking like Dilbert's Alice the Engineer, (look her up, not a good look on me). I had the same stylist for a couple years at JC Penney Salon, but am not comfortable being at a mall during the pandemic, so I took a chance on an appointment with Tracy. And she did not disappoint! My services took just over an hour. That is one indication it is a good haircut, when it takes longer than 10 minutes to cut, and they take the time to dry and style to make sure it shapes well. She asked a lot of questions to learn how I prefer my curls and layers to fall, and did a great job working the scissors through my multi-dimensional mane. I went in with some questions about a particular product line, and Tracy was very knowledgeable about those products. Plus the products I was looking for (DevaCurl) were B1/G1 half off, so yaye! I was going to buy four products, but unfortunately she only had three in stock, but Tracy was so kind to still give me the third product for half-off! I haven't been in a salon in a very long time, and I'm glad that I picked True Beauty WNY to get back in the salon-saddle. The space is updated, clean, and inviting. Tracy did a skilled job with my curly, layered cut. The other stylists were very kind to chat with, too. Parking was easy. Prices for services were on par with what I expected, and the sale on products was a good savings. Oh, and I made my appointment online on True Beauty's website, which was very convenient, to be able to scan all the open time slots and find something that worked best with my schedule. Thanks to True Beauty WNY and Tracy for this great experience--I will be back when it is time once again to tame the mane! :-D

24 minutes ago Went…read morein for a haircut with Amber. After waiting for 42 minutes without so much as an acknowledgment or an apology she started cutting my super frizzy hair without washing it. I asked if she was planning on doing that and she said she would do it at the end. Needless to say, it is SO uneven. I've never had a bad haircut like this because all I get are trims, but I seriously can't believe how uneven and horrible it looks.

Elle Salon is amazing for two reasons: 1) they cut my hair well (after a lifetime of bad haircuts) and 2) they do an excellent job with color. Until coming to Elle Salon, I've never had my hair colored. And it is jet black. I went in with the criteria "I want it to be a brownish red", not knowing anything about coloring, that dark hair is harder to dye, or which colors go well with which skin tones, etc. But Stacy helped me through the whole process. She told me what to expect, showed me a whole bunch of color swatches that matched my incredibly vague description, explained how certain colors fade and might look funny against my skin tone 6 months down the road...in short, she was amazing. We settled on a subtle allover brown that I was very happy with. So happy, in fact, that when I decided I wanted highlights, I went back to her. I've never had a hair salon experience as good as this, where the stylist really listens to what I want and adds her expertise to create a look that I love. I basically trust her enough to go in and say "do whatever you think will look good". In addition to doing a great job with my hair, their prices are very reasonable. Last time I went for a color touch up, highlights, and a trim, and it was $110. Appointments can be made online at their website, where you select the date, service, and stylist you want. And they even send you a nice reminder email to let you know your appointment is coming up! I live in Elmwood Village and this place is in Depew, but it is 100% worth the drive! Although I've only gone to Stacy, the other clients here all seem really happy when they leave, and the business seems to have a pretty steady clientele.
