When we decided to tie the knot, we knew we wanted to do it in CA near the ocean and that we wanted it to be a private, intimate ceremony with just the two of us and an officiant. I won't say we are picky, but we are, and the perfect person was a must! Since we live outside CA, we went to the internet and searched for an officiant. We moved quickly through a couple of choices since they had no personality and we just did not feel it. Then we found David. We thought just from his website that he would be a good fit. After some text and email communication, we scheduled a face time call. We spent an hour on the phone with David getting to know each other. He was just so perfect. He was sweet, interested in hearing our story, demonstrated attention to detail, he had an appreciation for romance, and was just plain adorable! Our vision was a private ceremony on the beach in jeans and flip flops. David was up for it and even color coordinated with us:) The day of the ceremony was just amazing. We could not have been happier! David climbed up quite a hill for us to the bluff above our beautiful ocean view. He even toted a 40 pound battery in order to video record our special moment. I can't say enough amazing things about David! He officiated our wedding last week and we were extremely impressed by him from start to finish. When we met him for the first time, we knew he was the right choice because of his great personality, we said yes right away. He was on time to our appt at the South Coast winery, got us a table there which is impossible to get during lunch hour considering that winery is super popular place for lunch. He has a commanding, clear voice that everyone can hear during the ceremony. He really cares about our wedding and is so professional. We wanted our ceremony to be happy and upbeat and he has that warm charismatic personality and nice voice to make our wedding ceremony perfect! We've been to other weddings where the officiator/priest is so serious that the bride and groom walks in all serious and doesn't smile, and it's so ceremonial. We didn't want that at all and wanted our special day to be happy, a celebratory event with our closest family and friends. We really got the mood we wanted to David's charismatic charming presence and beautiful DJ music. He has able to officiate our wedding incorporating Buddhist phrases/sayings for us. He was great during rehearsal and directed us on what to do, how to walk in, how my dad gives me to my husband, how long we should hold our kiss so photographers can capture that moment, how to put on the rings. He was so kind to mail our marriage license out for us before the post office closes. What I found so touching and special was that we wrote our own vows and David and his wife hand made us a cute pink paper decorated with cute stickers with our vows for us to hold and read during the ceremony. After our first meeting with David we knew he was the one to officiate our wedding. He was so kind and funny, he fit our personality perfectly. He asked a lot of getting to know you questions and this really reflected in the ceremony he performed for us, even the smallest details were mentioned. We wrote our own vows and sent them to David a week before the ceremony. David printed and created beautiful vow cards for us to read off of during the ceremony and later put them in our card basket for us to forever keep. My husband and I are really not center of attention people and David made this experience so easy for us. Actually, the ceremony was our favorite part of our wedding. David was a great asset to our wedding. We had a small wedding at a vineyard in Temecula. We were coming from out of state and the vineyard recommended him. David was very easy to get ahold of. We FaceTime'd with him a few times. We met in person about 2 months prior to our wedding. He asked us details about our relationship and incorporated those details beautifully in our ceremony. Since we were traveling out of state for the wedding and then leaving out of LAX the following day for our honeymoon we were stressed. We felt bad not writing our own vows. After hearing the service David put together I don't think we could have written any vows that would have compared to the eloquent words he spoke. Without a doubt one of the best decisions we made "vendor" wise for our wedding. Davis was AMAZING! I was a little nervous when looking for an officiant because I wanted a ceremony that felt personal and not cookie cutter and David more than delivered. You would have thought he knew us for forever. It was tailored to my husband and I and he threw in special things about us I wasn't expecting. He was funny but in a very refined, appropriate way that made us laugh at the right times and ease the nerves during the ceremony. We had multiple people come up to us at our reception and say it was the best ceremony they have ever been too. He honestly made our ceremony so special and I wasn't worried at all about the ceremony because I felt so comfortable with him as our officiant. He was super nice too and took my bouquet since we didn't have a bridal party! We first met with David via facetime since we live 1.5 hours from Temecula and loved him right away. He seemed (and is) genuine and not cheesy at all. He asked questions but let us talk and took in everything we were saying. We then did a face to face with him and it didn't feel ridged or scripted what he was saying to us. He is very easy to relate to and I left the meeting even more excited to marry my husband and looking forward to how he could personalize our ceremony. He is also very helpful with sending you tips and reminders about your marriage license and tips for writing your own vows (if you want to do that). He sent in our marriage license for us and sent us a tracking number so there was no worrying there on if it was sent while we were on our honeymoon. And you can tell he really loves his wife. Hearing him talk about her is so sweet and gives you a good feeling that someone who is happily married is going to perform your ceremony and kick start your marriage. Might sound silly but that was one thing that I really liked about him. Overall I am SO happy we found David and he did our wedding. He is amazing and I would recommend him to everyone. Neither me or my now husband are religious but we both had been studying Buddhism and really wanted to incorporate it without making it a full Buddhist ceremony. 5+ stars! David officiated our wedding on June 21, 2014. I am so glad we booked David, he only had a review or two, but they were so glowing that we decided to meet with him. I wanted to review him right away to help couples who are looking for an officiant. The other reviews are right on target, but here's my experience: We communicated via email/phone and he responds quickly. We met with him for about an hour and he got to know us a little. He asked a lot of questions about us, our relationship, and what makes us unique. It was a fun experience sharing our story. He can make the wedding as religious, moderate, or whatever you envision. The groom and I are different religions and David made us both feel very comfortable. We also learned more about David and he is very personable and charismatic. He sent us really helpful information on how to apply for our marriage license and advised us to check the different counties, since each one charges a different price. David attended the rehearsal and helped keep everything moving along. The groom and I were behind on writing our vows, so we didn't get them to David in time for him to make the vow cards. However, David still offered to make them and send them to us! We received so many comments on how sincere and heartfelt our ceremony was. David did a wonderful job of creating a custom and personalized ceremony. You can tell he spends a great deal of time preparing for a ceremony to give it that warm feeling. David opened and closed in prayer. He had some wonderful words about marriage and the couple walking hand in hand. He incorporated things the groom and I had talked about during our meeting. Many people thought he had known us for a while! After the ceremony, David came to congratulate us and take pictures. Unbeknownst to us, he also took a couple of pictures (of the cake, the groom and I, a table set-up, etc.) and attached them with the tracking # for the marriage license he mailed for us. Hello, My wife and I got married in December 2014 and David was selected at the last minute at the recommendation of my mom who had gone to a wedding where he presided over previously. I wanted to get a hawaiian officiant for our ceremony but there were none that a I liked in San Diego. Upon meeting David my wife and I knew he was the perfect choice. He really took the time to get to know us and asked all the right questions. We were thankful he took the job because like I said it was a last minute selection and we had our ceremony right around christmas time where we knew it could impact his family plans. He listened to my concerns about having a hawaiian element in our ceremony and did research on his own to learn about hawaiian culture and worked some of that into the program. We decided to write our own vows and he customized the package all around our personalities. You could tell this wasn't something that was prewritten for every ceremony and he just changed the names he actually put a lot of work in to make our day special and unique. He even played music durring the precession so we saved on hiring a dj or band to play music while the wedding party walked down the isle. He came prepared with audio mic equipment as well. He showed us all of his back ups in case something happend (he prepares everything on his Ipad and has it all backed up on his phone and worst case he has it written down). After reading reviews online, we knew we wanted David to perform our ceremony. This feeling only increased as we had our first Skype session with him and then our face-to-face a few months later. Within the first few minutes, we felt an instant connection with him and it seemed as if we had been friends for years. Working with him was an absolute joy. He is extremely professional, detail-oriented, thoughtful, and timely. He responded to any inquiries I had within hours and went the extra mile to provide audio and music for us when our venue was unable to. David met with us up front without any commitment to get to know both of us and ask us what we were looking for in a ceremony. His questions were detailed and helped us to really get a clear picture of what our perfect ceremony would be like. He then put together a custom draft and offered to meet with us again to go over it and get our thoughts. He was very patient and kind, and completely respectful of the things that we wanted or didn't want.
