He treats my younger son with special needs who wears braces on both feet and has needed medical attention for most of his life. We have been very happy with Dr. Bruscia and his staff. I even had an emergency where I broke a finger and my wedding ring was stuck on and Dr. Ron helped me resolve it. Though he normally doesn't work on fingers I was pleasantly surprised he knew what to do in case of emergency. The office is in south western corner of the Comerica Bank complex and has a comfortable waiting room that always seems to have fresh candy in it, and is also right next to a few dentists! Dr. Bruscia is pleasant and engaging and he is highly recommended as both an office practitioner and surgeon.

The last time I was there I had an annual test and they told me the results were horrible and scary. They told me I better get it checked out by a specialist as people can lose limbs, etc. Went to a specialist, which you know is not easy, and had to have all sorts of tests done. Not one thing wrong. I came in needing new orthotics, as my old ones were lost. I saw the nurse, described what I needed, saw the doctor for all of a sixty second exam, and then the office manager came in to discuss that they would not bill my insurance for new orthotics because, in their experience, insurance will not cover them. However, even after informing the staff that my insurance does cover them, usually even with the added fees they may have (which was my experience with my old orthotics at my previous podiatrist), they were still unwilling to give it a try. While their pricing model is respectable, and I understand it, the overall lack of face time with Dr. Burdge and the lack of interest in trying to work with my insurance was frustrating. Overall, I would recommend looking for someone who is more able to accommodate those with insurance.

Be aware this place hides in the back of a strip center so drive all the way back before you amble up the ramp. Staff were welcoming, waiting was not lengthy, office clean, the Dr. did the x-rays and confirmed stress fractures. RX: stay off foot and wear ugly boot for 4 weeks, had walked on the foot for 3 weeks so the healing was not happening. Stated I should get bunions repaired ASAP. This doctor does not appear to advocate Cinderella surgery, will consult with him on this issue. When children are running in and greeting the staff happily, one can be satisfied that customer/patient service comes first. Will know soon if foot is healed and I can ease back into my Jimmy Choos.
