I'd never been in to this store so I decided to pop in after picking up some books at Books and Mortar across the street. I was happy to see a lot of really fun cards upon first entering YT Galleria. I have a collection of cards at home and love being able to brighten someone's day by sending them out. They have cards at YT Galleria I hadn't seen before, which was fun. They range from beautiful blank cards to cheeky and more serious messages. They also have lots of great gift ideas, including a whole collection of prayer candles featuring some "patron saints" like Lizzo, Beyonce, and even Harry Potter. I've only ever seen a few of these locally so it was fun to see a large selection at one place. The shop also has a good selection of kids' items like books, games, puzzles, and some toys. I will definitely keep it in mind as many of my friends have young kids. There were also some pottery pieces that I assume must be locally made. They were beautiful but not really my style. One half of the store is all apparel, which was also not my style, but I saw some people checking out the clothing. I personally felt that the clothing was for a much older female audience. Nothing wrong with that of course, just an observation. I think YT Galleria is a great place to look for gifts, and I love to support local businesses as much as I can. I wish I could give a full five star review but I was completely ignored by the two employees working there during my visit. Since there were only a few other guests in the store at the time, I think a nice "Hello, let us know if we can help you find anything," would have been welcoming and would've encouraged me to stay longer. I browsed for a bit and saw some items that I may buy in the future but didn't really feel that welcomed. I truly believe that great customer service can go a long way, so it was a little disappointing that I wasn't even greeted when I came in the door. Another uptown GR gem for thoughtful gifts, cards, clothes, and more! Stopped in last week while meandering in and out of Cherry Street's small shops. I'm a fan of the offbeat, unique, and irreverent in general. If you're the type who loves to laugh--and also likes to poke fun at who gets to decide what's appropriate to laugh at!--then you get me. And I'm always looking for the things not sold by the big box stores. YT is a *marvelous* mishmash boutique of quirky greeting cards, unique ornaments and decor, snarky books, and women's clothing. There's also a perfectly curated selection of children's books and fresh family board games I'd never seen before, the latter of which come from a German game company named Amigo (I know). I spent at least a half hour just reading through and laughing at the cards! Bought a few of the games and can't wait to play them. Even found gifts for the next-door neighbors, which YT carefully gift-wrapped for free (even included nice boxes and ribbons!). In today's "Shipt culture" of order-from-your-phone and quick curbside grocery pickup, it's noticeably nice to slow down in a small, independently owned shop where the person behind the counter has time to chat you up, listen to your needs, and suggest the perfect gift with all the trimmings. Sure, you can grab a quick card at YT and be on your way, but you'll have a much more meaningful experience if you take the time to snoop around and ask questions. A wonderful gallery and gift shop. I have been coming to this spot in uptown GR for several years now. I don't usually frequent gift stores and if so it's usually rather sporadic in an admittedly un-loyal form. However, I have probably bought more gifts for friends, family, and other acquaintances here than any other store. This is the place to go folks if you have no idea what to get someone! They are not just a gift store but a gallery, so thank you for supporting your artists of the world. They offer unique ceramic pieces and jewelry. I also love love love their collection of children's and baby items. They stand out from the standard target/buy buy baby fare. Next their greeting cards are hilarious! If you want to find some snarky, witty cards this is also the place. The owners are super friendly and they have almost always had a quick or long chat with me. Honestly, I like to just stalk in the background of shops and speak under my breath when greeted with a hello (introvert) but they are super friendly and sometimes give some fun background story about some of the items in the store. YT is hands down the best place in GR to get cute and/or hilarious cards, many of which teeter the fine line of funny and offensive - in the best possible way.
