Two years ago, we chose Childtime of Lilburn after touring several options in the Lilburn/Lawrenceville area. We based our decision on location and the recommendation of some local families. Here are some key issues: -High turnover, even by daycare standards: We had two kids who respectively moved from the toddler room through preschool and from preschool through Pre-K. The classrooms were a revolving door of teachers, which culminated in both Pre-K teachers (a lead teacher and support teacher) leaving in the middle of the 2025-2026 school year. Turnover created instability in the classrooms and disrupted learning. -Teacher quality: While we had some staff members who were truly caring and dedicated, we saw an overall decline in teacher quality during our two years at Childtime. We saw good teachers take initiative and attain additional early childhood credentials, only to not be retained when they sought better compensation. It was frustrating to see good teachers leave and be replaced by people who were inattentive and unengaging. -Lack of structure: Related to the previous point, diminished teacher quality led to poor classroom management. There was inconsistency in activities and schedules, and poor transitions to and from nap time. With lack of structure and boredom, we saw classrooms trend toward becoming more and more chaotic, which was an environment that was challenging for both of our children (our older child who was in Pre-K and our younger child who had transitioned to preschool as a 3 y/o). If your child does not do well with lack of structure and boredom then they might struggle at Childtime. Do not expect teachers and leadership to work collaboratively with you to support your child if they are struggling at Childtime. -Questionable inclusivity: While we did not perceive racial or ethnic bias and found the staff to be quite diverse, we did sense an underlying culture that was not supportive of nontraditional self-expression. If your child expresses themselves differently this may not be an environment where they feel protected from bullying and supported by the school. Why 2 stars and not 1 star? 1 star felt like it would be dismissive of the hard work and dedication of the good teachers we had at Childtime. It's too bad that many of them have left. We regret not leaving sooner. *Suggestions* 1. Monitor cameras: -the livestream (included in the price rather than being an add-on like at some other providers) is certainly an advantage, but do not assume that because the livestream exists that staff are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Check in at different times of day and call the front desk if you see that your child's class has become chaotic or notice other issues. 2. Check the Georgia DECAL inspection reports: The Georgia Dept of Early Care and Learning maintains a quality rating system of daycare providers (Childtime of Lilburn has 1 out of 3 stars; they are listed as Childtime Childcare #1102) and publish licensing and incident inspection reports. It would be wise to check the portal periodically and see what issues are arising, as these reports are not directly disclosed to families by Childtime. 3. Trust your instincts: If you notice red flags, bring them up to teachers and leadership. If you feel they are not being adequately addressed, leave.

Marci's team was absolutely amazing and provided such excellent care it was heartbreaking to leave due to relocation. All the staff was sad to see him go but was very supportive. they were all very hands on and believed in educating all children at their pace. we thank you all for your support and taking care of our child so well. it will be a challenge to find a new area after all these amazing and wonderful people. Period…read more As my littles became more mobile, I quickly realized they needed more socialization but after going to the library, the park, a different library, back to the park again over and over and over every week... I'll be honest, I was exhausted. Time to look into preschool. I made a checklist of all... the... things... to ask. Cameras? Covid precautions and protocol? Student/teacher ratio? License and accreditation? Discipline policy? Curriculum? Immunization policy? Communication method? Safety policy and protocol? And so on and so on. Yep, I was *that* mom. I know. I know. I knnnoooowww. ‍ I spent hours looking at websites. On nice days, I drove by centers or schools during operating hours to see if the kids outside were playing AND being watched, as well as how many staff were present. I'll stop now because I'm mortified that I did that but my tiny hurricanes are my EVERYTHING. St. Matthews wasn't even on my radar because I lived over an hour away. But when I learned some teachers have been there for 20+ years, the program is small but mighty and I immediately felt comfortable, like *this* was what I was waiting for... without even touring or dissecting the website oorrr canvassing the building, I asked for my three year old to be put on the waitlist. When a spot opened up, he was so excited annnd then I realized I didn't even know how much it cost. ‍ I was SHOCKED (and grateful) at how affordable it is. The adjustment for my son going from being my sidekick to "away" was a little difficult but it did not last long and I credit that to Ms. Deja and Ms. Priyanka. They are AMAZING. Ms. Deja gave me some tips and tricks to help smooth the transition and it worked perfectly and quickly. Ms. Dalex even called to let me know that he was doing great after one super teary drop off. I swore she was calling me to pick him up LOL and I so appreciated the communication. When they started to work on writing their names, Ms. Deja knew that my son could already do that (humble brag ) and took the initiative to help him work on his handwriting, writing in the lines and lowercase and capital letters. She did not have to do that but the fact that she did speaks volumes. Things are going so well that my two year old was recently enrolled. Ms. Robin and Ms. Bijal are beyond patient and the communication is timely and impeccable. My daughter is not yet potty trained so I was hesitant to put her into a program but Ms. Robin shared the daily schedule with me (which includes changing/potty times) and we have had ZERO issues with diaper rash, being wet when picked up, soiled clothes or anything. There is chapel but it is not required. There are different events like Thanksgiving lunch and breakfast with Santa as well as some really creative fundraisers like the Pumpkin sale and Art Auction. There are even after school activities available. From someone who claimed to never EVER allow my children to be in a childcare setting until they could articulate to me the who, what, where, when, how and why of their day (did I mention I was that mom?) believe me when I say I wish I would have gotten them in sooner.

She explained that they have dealt with this type of situation before she asked that I send his IEP which I promptly sent within a couple business days. They then contacted me for a tour two days later . After taking time off to tour the facility and speaking with them several times. I received an email from Brittany stating that may not be able to accommodate my son. I called the next business day and Brittany basically stated that they could not accommodate my son after the director reviewed the IEP in detail. Honestly, it felt like they were passing bias on my child .I called and complained to the Director ( Ms. Chaz) about my experience as they could have told me this prior to wasting my time doing a tour (as they'd been sent the IEP prior) and stringing me along for nearly two weeks. It also put me in a position where I had to scramble to find alternative childcare. Ms. Chaz did state that they would be able to offer a 30 day trial and that I should have been offered this ( I was not offered this by Brittany ) . However, at that point, the experience turned me completely off and I decided not to place my child there . I am writing this review because people need to know about my experience and the stress it caused. I also hope that they will learn from this situation and treat future perspective parents better in the future as well as be more respectful to parents time . I could have made a bigger fuss as daycares are required to accommodate kid with special needs according to the ADA .

The manager then showed me the video and in the video my son and another kid were playing with this staff member on the stairs like a tug of war game. Completely inappropriate to play on the stairs.in the video my son was trying to get the man's attention and instead of redirecting my son,or calling for somebody to get him to stop playing on the stairs,he pushed him. These are not the kind of people that should work with children. I've known amazing people who work with kids who would run into traffic to protect a child from getting hurt, this was not that. This was the staff hurting children. Not prioritizing safety. I asked for a full refund of our two month remaining membership and they said no I'm just glad he didn't hit his head
