The only Wanderlust studio exists in Austin! I'm a big fan of Wanderlust national weekend events so I was happy to discover this studio downtown. The main studio is large and industrial with a stage for the occasional live band. I love the late night classes but I've never been disappointed by any. I took the Bittersweet Candlelight class, and had a great experience. Super friendly front desk staff, great teacher. Parking is a bit tricky, but once inside the studio, I enjoyed the vibe. I took their 9:30am heated vinyasa class today with Ben. I'm in town for work and this place was right around the corner from where I was stayng. The class description on the website reads: "Experience a dynamic series of sequenced postures that seamlessly flow together. Accompanied by energizing music." The only part of the class that was sequenced was the first 10 minutes. After that it was really choppy, with no vinyasa's in between each pose. The music was ok, but definitely not energizing and didn't seem like it was put together for the class. After paying $20 for the class, which included $1 for a mat rental, I was disappointed that I did not get what I expected from the class description. It was more of a Hatha styled class, which is fine, but had that been described on the website I would have found another class to go to. Because I have only taken this one class here, I can't say whether or not I would recommend this studio to someone else, but I do hope the studio updates the class descriptions to so that they are more accurate. read more

The teachers are so welcoming and I love them all, so inspiring and always offering a morning hug or chat. I prefer the early morning classes, easier to park. (only downside is the parking) I love the classes, teachers, great music, yoga space and workshops. I only went once so giving it a 4 star. The studio is well kept and is very clean. The staff very helpful and attentive.I loved my 45 minute flow class. They have mats, towels for rent and a great shower area. After a class you can relax and enjoy some very healthy options for eats. Smoothies and salads. We did the heated vinyasa yoga class and it was amazing! Perfectly guided, very friendly staff and gorgeous studio.

Bring a towel because you're going to sweat your face off! I was able to take advantage of a deal for newbies ($35 for 30 days) and I went as often as my schedule would allow because the classes are great and the instructors are amazing! They've all got different styles and personalities, and that helps make your practice a little different every day! I'm still in a beginner stage and they made me feel comfortable and welcome while also helping push more experienced yogis a bit farther. Also, if you're looking for typical "zen" music, you're not going to find it here. They've got great playlists that really match the practice. read more

Just did a 6:00 am Monday yoga class here with Jerry. As a first time, I felt so welcome! The class was challenging, but maybe not for complete beginners. I definitely enjoyed his teaching style more than my home practice! He was even kind enough to recommend a studio he loved near where I live! I can't wait to make this my home studio when I attend UT Austin :) this place is perfect for tourists as well as locals!! Came to Austin to visit and did some yoga. Loved the studio. Great lockers for storage, the staff was very helpful. Post-yoga Acai bowls were delicious. I'd never had one with cucumbers! I would say the studio itself wasn't as hot as I'm used to, but I still got a great workout. Would definitely go again. read more

I went to Wanderlust for the first time and met up with the group that invited me. Overall it's a cute set up. I like the interior and it's pretty clean. When it was time to go into the class it was clear that they let waayy too many people into that session. We were literally mat to mat and on several occasions you were partially on the mat of the person next to you. On top of that it was a heated yoga, but with that many people they didn't even have to turn on the heat. I enjoyed the class minus some of the instructors pose descriptions. Very confusing and everyone was continuously looking around to see what exactly we were suppose to be doing. My experience, I'd say, was a good one but I won't be putting the effort into finding parking and mat space to go back there again. I can find better studios without all that hassle and better instruction. read more

Just started going here. Only $35 for 1 month for new students! I love this yoga studio so far. It has a cute smoothie bar attached so its perfect to get a snack after practice. Love this studio! I'm a huge fan of the YoStrong class, which is in a heated room with weights and cardio. It's like a yoga-style boot camp class. Gustavo is the best! You burn a ton of calories while also incorporating yoga poses and stretching. I highly recommend if you're looking for a kick-your-butt type of workout. The prices are pretty reasonable as well, $140 for a 10 pack is usually my go-to. Parking can sometimes be a bit painful, but I think the are going to have valet starting next month. read more

I like the studio. Generally most of the instructors have been good. The space is welcoming and what you expect of a yoga studio. This review is for their policy that requires you to be at class 5 minutes before start. If your not, they give your space away. This is exceptionally frustrating and upsetting when you get up very early to attend a morning class. Most studios I am used to don't give your spot away until class time had been met. read more

I went on a Sunday to the live music class. The studio is a big community space, with a small cafe and ample front desk staff to move the crowds of yogis. The music class is in a large revamped warehouse space, and it was a super fun experience. It was a DJ, not a band, and while I was disappointed at first, it turned out to be awesome. It ran over the allotted time by quite a bit so my only caution would be to plan a little extra time. read more

Wow! I went to two different classes here on my two day visit to Austin. Gustavo led a hot power flow that stretched and pushed me to my edge repeatedly throughout the class. At the same time he delivered a message about binds and how we get bound up in life and what it takes to work through those times, we have the breath and the strength to get through anything. The second day was a warmed vinyasa class with Amelia, her cueing was so helpful and gentle, I learned so much about improving on postures that I do regularly, it was incredible! Lastly, I was fortunate enough the second day to have a live musician in the room for the class. It was so beautiful to hear him play and seem to follow or maybe lead our practice with his melody. My only issue was that it does seem to be a place of quite serious practice and when I travel I like to meet other yogis but people were very into their space once in the classroom. The yoga instructors, however, were very approachable and I had a nice moment with them each after class. I will definitely return to practice at Wanderlust on my next visit to Austin! read more

BEST yoga classes I have been to in Austin. As a downtown resident, Wanderlust has become my peaceful little sanctuary! I purchased a monthly membership and have been to about 5 different kinds of classes in the past few weeks. Besides the beautiful studio and the experienced instructors, there are a variety of classes that keeps going to yoga fun and interesting. YoStrong uses weights and totally kicked my butt, while SlowFlow was super relaxing and restorative. My favorite class so far has been Ashley's VinYin Candlelight yoga class on Wednesday nights. It's a mix of power yoga and long stretching and her music is amazing. She plays everything from Ray LaMontagne to Rolling Stone's acoustic covers. Not to mention there are candles surrounding the room. IT ROCKS. I really just can't say enough. I don't normally write Yelp reviews, but felt inclined to review Wanderlust because it is an absolute breath of fresh air. My first class was free (and I think it is for everyone) so go check it out! read more

I really like this place. It is the only studio I've ever been to where I've actually enjoyed every class. They have a variety of skilled teachers and each brings their own style to the practice. Their schedule accommodates both early birds and those who work late. There are two rooms inside - one small and one very large as well as a space to practice on the roof. The bathrooms are always very clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming when you check in at the front desk. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the parking situation is a pain. They have an extremely small lot behind the studio that so far has been full every time I've gone. They do give you the option to park in the Convention Center parking garage and will reimburse you for $4 of the $5 you pay, but that's still $1 I have to pay every time I go to class on top of my membership fees. It all adds up after a while. Additionally, if you try to park in the parking garage any time there is an event happening (which is pretty much every weekend) the price to park can sometimes jump all the way up to $20 and Wanderlust doesn't seem to accept those receipts. I understand the appeal for them to be located in a "downtown" area, but I imagine I'm not the only one who wishes they would move to a new location and expand a little. read more

I've been going to classes at Wanderlust for almost a year and am in love! The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the $35 for 30 days is a great deal you should not pass up. The amenities are clean and spacious, and most instructors and front desk staff are helpful and very dedicated to their practice. I recommend Hilly and Kate's classes fro beginners, they provide a good stretch without being too vigorous for newcomers and both women are equally friendly! Gustavo and Jerry are both very experienced and really let their enthusiasm move you throughout the class, I'm grateful I worked up the nerve to try out their classes and I would recommend them for anyone who is looking for a change/something unorthodox in their practice. A few other instructors I enjoy are Gioconda (very knowledgeable about yoga, don't be scared off she is extremely gracious/helpful), Leah, and Ashley. The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that there is one instructor who has been repeatedly condescending/not engaged the few times I have taken her classes. The first time I thought she was having a bad day, then realized it was just her personality. read more
