Todd Pilates has excellent classes. Instructors like Todd and Andrea actively demonstrate and instruct throughout the class. They provide ways to modify with or without props to make routines or moves more accessible or more difficult. The prices are great and the staff are wonderful too. 2025 update, have been attending ToddPilates for maybe 15 years, and have never found a comparable Pilates class in terms of the results, and being fun and challenging. Since the pandemic, I have gotten addicted to the online classes via Zoom platform & try to go multiple times a week, even when I am away from home/staying at hotels. The music/songs (nowhere near as eardrum-burstingly loud as Orange Theory and Gold's Gym) truly distracts from the exertion and makes the exercise seems effortless. Using "props" (little weights, tension bands, ball, ring, etc.) makes it extra fun and replicates the experience of "reformer" equipment. You can make the workout as difficult as you want and you can definitely break a sweat if that's your goal. My muscles, especially core & glutes, often feel sore afterward and I can tell they are definitely getting stronger. The price is so affordable, and there are classes every day even Thanksgiving and New Years. I hope that Todd, Roger, and Doug are around a long time, but the other instructors are very good as well. read more

The instructor and front desk attendant were so sweet and had all my equipment set up and ready to go for me when I walked in since it was my first time! I had never done a barre class before, so it was incredibly challenging, but Sharon Cao-Chin was such an awesome instructor and provided modifications when needed! I LOVE ToddPilates! My favorite exercise studio I've ever been to. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Todd's classes are amazing with great music and atmosphere (and the other instructors are pretty great, too!). Every class the instructors offer many modifications to make it easier or more challenging. No judgements here! It's easy to sign up for classes and the class packages don't expire. They're also really flexible if miss a class or cancel last minute and don't penalize you. Both the north and south studios are nice and clean and easy to park at. As one of the few guys who attend the sessions at Todd's, I must say that it has been a pleasure to attend the classes and getting toasted and roasted after every session. After all, how hard can these classes be? I've done my fair share of cardio and weight lifting throughout the years. WRONG. The sessions are intense and in particular the Barre workouts are going to be....err...a challenge (an understatement). Even to this day, there are days when I barely get through a single Barre session. The instructors Todd, Doug, Holly, Nicki are fantastic and very accommodating to beginners so don't worry about fitting into the crowd from day 1. And what's great is the the instructors are all fun! It doesn't seem like your typical boring workout where you look at the clock to fill in your exercise quota for the day. And most importantly, as I get older I'm getting concerned about the impact exercise has on my knees and I'd say this is quite safe. Overall an A+ experience here...and still getting beat class after class, but I have my faith I'll become adept one day! read more

I couldn't love this studio more. The workouts are phenomenal. The instructors are amazing. The studio is always clean. I also love the fact that you can buy 10, 20, 30, etc classes and they NEVER expire! I work as a flight attendant, so I have a crazy schedule. I'm don't want to pay for a month unlimited or classes that expire too quickly bc at times I'm out of town more than I'm at home. I was visiting a friend for over a week and was dying to get some Pilates in. She told me I would simply love this class and she was so right! Firstly they took us in even though we were late by 5. What's more since it was my first time my class was free :). Tiffany our instructor was amazing. Precise instructions, had a great course designed for the upper, lower and core. Overall I dint even realize when my 55minutes were up! What's more was I loved their thick elastic band sets. I was heading to China the same evening and really wanted one of them. On asking the front desk if they sold them at the studio she said she would check with her boss. And 30secs later I got a free band. I'm a workout video type of girl, but I enjoy classes as well. I've tried many different places in Austin, and I've found very expensive packages which you had to pay initiation fees or member rates. Not at Todd's. Unfortunately, I love in northwest Austin, so it takes me about 15-20 minutes to get to, which inhibits me making any classes Monday-Thursday. I like that classes never expire. I visited with a friend (for FREE) and received the discount if I purchased classes that day. I love both barre and mat classes. The instructors are great (especially Lauren G, Margaret, and roger ), and the music is upbeat, fun, and gets you pumped up. They offer many modifications, as well as new routines so it's not predictable or boring. After the class, they offer two kinds of delicious teas: cinnamon chai and berry hibiscus, as well as chocolate covered almonds. I've never seen a class super packed, so you never have to fight over equipment or space. They also always let you know when you have one or two classes left, and check in is super easy with the key tags. I love Todd Pilates- I wish they would open one up north ! read more

ToddPilates is truly the best place to take a Pilates class in Austin! I have been coming to Todd's classes since I think 2010 or 2011 (back when he was renting studio space on South Congress). He always offers varied levels for everyone, you will never feel out of place and you will always leave in a better mood! I love the music and variety. Now that he offers classes over zoom I can attend way more frequently and love that I can just jump on in between work calls! When they say the class passes never expire they really never expire. I also love that if something comes up and you can't attend, it's no big deal and you still get to use that class credit another time. Since this was my first time taking a class there I was extremely nervous. I didn't know what to expect. My nerves settled after meeting the incredible Cara (Kara?) at the front desk. I've been to many studios and she's been by far the nicest and most welcoming. She showed me around, walked me to my space and even had a mat with weights and bands already set up for me. I already felt spoiled. I'm glad I got there 15 min early b/c it allowed me to warm up, check in on Yelp , and go to the bathroom. I took a Barre class by Eve. At the end of the class we were informed it was her first time teaching there. I would have never known. She was fantastic. I really loved her class and it was great for all levels. I highly recommend taking her class on Sunday. I'm looking forward to seeing her again. The finale was just the icing on the cake. Wow, what a great find! I've dabbled in Pilates, but could never find a studio that kept me coming back. Most studios are $150+ a month for memberships and I couldn't swing it. ToddPilates is SO affordable, they have so many convenient class times, the app makes booking and canceling classes a breeze, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the classes are FUN! They also start and end class EXACTLY on time, which is great for those of us in a hurry! The music is top notch and the instructors are so good at what they do, I sometimes feel like we are synchronized swimmers, which just adds to the fun. Recently, Todd has been doing a set to Shania Twain's "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" and it makes me smile the whole time. They always have fun, new music in the rotation, as well. I do not live in Austin. During covid time I learned about this place from a friend who attended their in-person classes and had so many good things to say about them. I got a Groupon offer and got hooked on the virtual workouts. I cannot say enough good things about Todd's classes. I hear their other classes are just as good but I joined for Pilates and can only make it on my lunch time. Enter Mr. Todd and his awesome one hour pilates class. Todd makes such a difficult long class so fun and something I look forward to. He never screams at us "GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT" like some of the other group classes I attended and I really appreciate that, well I have given my all and some already by the time I get to exercise between work, kids, etc. I attend to exercise my body yes but also to have fun, not that I do not almost cry (after all this time) when he says "you are done with that little band ...". You can come as you are! He has so many options for you to modify and make things simpler or harder depending on how much you can give that day and that's just fine, no guilt, just show up and move. He is so in tune with the music he chooses and it fits the workouts perfectly. Most importantly, his music choices never give me ear worm as they do in many other group classes. He also doesn't blast the music to a points that we cannot hear his instructions. He always, every time, cues us to fix our forms during various movements, because we do need that when we are in the heat of things and our thighs are no longer parallel in bridge or something. Come to class and within three months you will see some awesome results. I am telling you. After two C-sections some years ago, I didn't think my abdominal muscles could ever figure out what to do but they learned over time. You will thank your past you for giving yourself this gift. I have been trying to get motivated to keep up a workout routine- so I thought I try Pilates . I was intimidated to go in because I felt like I would have a hard time keeping up . BUT when I walked in the door Todd was so nice & the other front desk person made me feel comfortable . They sat up my mat for me the first time and went over all the props . After the class Todd talked to me about how I felt & gave me words of encouragement . Other people came and told me I did good & to keep coming because it gets easier ( it was so hard y'all - but worth it & the music is fun ). Also during the class a girl showed me some different modifications to help me keep going . Todd is also good at giving modifications . Today was my second class & again warm welcome & all that I mentioned above . Also I got talking to another nice gal after class . I'm one of those people who hated exercise and avoided it at all costs. If you saw me running, you better run too because there's a guy with an axe or a velociraptor behind me. You get the picture, I was not a gym bunny. A friend of mine recommend Todd's Pilates and after putting it off for ages, I finally came to class, expecting to come once and then never again. Instead I ended up buying a 20 class package after one class. That was about two years ago, and I've been a regular attendee since then. All the classes at Todd's Pilates are fantastic because they manage to be challenging for more experienced people while still not being intimidating for beginners. I mainly take classes with Todd or Elese, but everyone is great. The classes are fun and upbeat with great music and a super positive atmosphere. The instructors never push you to work out to fatigue or "push past the pain" like some places will. No matter what your fitness level, there are modifications to make every exercise something you can succeed at. The classes are very affordable, and they even have an app that makes buying packages and scheduling classes super easy. It's not an exaggeration when I say this class changed my life. Wow this is a great studio! The location is pretty far south but that doesn't stop me from trying out a new to me studio. I took a barre class and loved how much they implemented arm movement at the barre to get your heart racing. They use a ball, resistant bands, Pilates ring, 2 sets of weights and mats. When I arrived I was greeted with smiling faces and was given a tour. There are not many amenities but the studio equipment, ample parking, excellent instructor and after workout tea more than make up for it. The workout is fast paced but easy to follow. The following morning I felt it in my obliques, inner thighs, shoulder blades, calves and glutes. If you are looking for a challenging workout I would definitely recommend ToddPilates. read more

I thought long and hard before writing this review... Why? Because I don't want to share (maybe it's the only child in me). Todd's pilates classes are - AWESOME! To be quite honest, I was anti-pilates for a long time because I thought it was too "girly" and I wouldn't get a good workout. I finally decided to try pilates because I was sick of throwing my back out and my chiropractor told me it would strengthen my core to support my back. I chose Todd's classes because of the great Yelp reviews, the close proximity to my home and the affordable price. Todd is a great instructor - enthusiastic, provides clear instructions and shows modified moves. The classes reflect a S. Austin population - eclectic (just the way I like it) with all different experience levels and ages. I enjoyed my first experience so much I immediately signed up for a class card after. Nothing has ever made my midsection (front, back & sides) so sore in my life! Muscles hurt that I didn't even know I could work-out!! AND I can already see a bit of definition in my abs (always a bonus). I'm hoping with regular practice I'll strengthen my core enough where I won't throw out my back anymore... Additional bonus points: 1st class is free, if you "Like" them on FB you get a free Wed class, he makes yummy tea for everyone after each session AND he plays upbeat music (no chimes or waterfall noises here)! read more

As Joseph Pilates himself would say, "In 10 sessions, you will feel the difference. In 20, you will see the difference. And in 30, you'll be on your way to having a whole new body." Yesterday, I had my first class with Todd and bought a 10-class punch card but I have a feeling I will be seeing the difference by the 4th or 5th class. Maybe sooner. This is serious cardio-Pilates: my heart is racing a little just thinking about it. Mats and props are provided and Todd even poured us some chilled herbal tea after class and had chocolate covered almonds out (!?!). I am not sure if this is after every class, but I am definitely intrigued. I went to a weeknight 6PM class and there was just enough room for everyone to fit. They are adding more classes and instructors to deal with the demand, it seems. If you are new to Pilates, you may want to scope out a class time that has fewer students, so you can get some more personal attention. Todd was attentive but it this setting, and with it being cardio-orientated, it may be overwhelming for a total newbie. He, of course, gives modifications for all the exercises and guides your breathing. Maybe they should have an "Intro to Pilates" class that just focuses on the core exercises and breathing technique. If I was totally new, the class yesterday might have been too much and scared me away. But as a seasoned Pilates student, this was the perfect class for me: challenging but doable. I am not sure if other Pilates practicers have run into classes that were too easy or slow (a waste of time) or boring. I have. This is not one of those classes. 5 stars! read more

I am in love with this studio. I have tried many classes, gyms and studios around Austin - and this place is truly unique. The atmosphere is warm, the instructors are encouraging and the overall vibe is friendly fun. On a whim, I joined a bootcamp class with Josh. I was terribly out of shape, heavier than I have ever been, and discouraged with my overall exercise attempts. The class was the most difficult workout I can recall - but I survived, and Josh was a huge encouragement along the way. He made me feel not guilty for not being able to keep up with the rest of the class. For the first time in forever, I actually left a workout not beating myself up. After that, kinda hooked! I started experimenting with the other classes, and felt the same positive encouragement every time. I've tried just about all the classes - boot camp, zumba and pilates, and the culture of the studio is consistent. Todd's pilates class is the absolute top. He keeps the class fresh and fun by choreographing all the moves with music and changing up the routine. Bopping and singing during pilates makes the hour fly. For the first time since college, I look forward to going to my workouts. They make everything fun - (hello - Zumba + CHAMPAGNE!) - and just so welcoming. As a testament!: 3 months later, and my body has transformed. My lifelong Buddha belly - gone! And they are totally affordable (not price gougers like just about every other Austin studio). I absolutely LOVE Todd Pilates! After college I was looking for a way to stay in shape and let's face it, the gym isn't the most exhilarating workout, and I couldn't find myself motivated to actually go. I found Todd through a Groupon and was immediately hooked! Pros: + Wallet friendly: I try to go at least 5 times a week, and for $87 a month, I pay $4 for each class. Four dollars, y'all! + Great instructors: I've been going to Katie's classes since my second day and she is a blast! Elese is kickass so prepare to sweat, and of course Todd just makes every class so much fun you (almost) forget you're actually working out. + Free equipment: No need to bring a mat, Todd has all the equipment you need for each class. + Age-friendly: I've brought younger friends of mine to class, and I've also seen a lot of my mom's friends in classes.
