In fact probably 150 feet from their shop is her well stocked art gallery which is loaded with every single type of art piece you can even imagine! The prices were very fair and much less expensive than the other places that I called in the surrounding area ( I researched!)there's no way you can do this work on your own for any less than they do it because of the price of plexiglass and even cut glass nowadays! ( and Mattes!!)One of our prints we brought in a frame and a piece of glass and Svetlana actually even cut it for us for free! Wewould go back to this place and intend to any day. You've definitely got to go here and while you're waiting, there's a brand new sushi restaurant right across from them. That is excellent apparently-you can have a bite while you wait or you can go to the cold Stone creamery next-door! From a few dollars for a card, to tens, hundreds, and even thousands of dollars for pottery, jewelry, and exquisite one-of-a-kind art, there is something for everyone. I was here on "Shop Small Saturday". Not surprising, I was pleasantly pleased with the variations of art works offered, from wearables, to functionals, and decorative, I eyed pottery bowls, jewelry, wall art, and these beautiful ceramic bouquets. I did walk away with a pretty piece. Yay, me. Check their hours before going. The shopping season is ending soon; they'll turn back into a pumpkin - i.e. an art center.

Throughout the entire time, she was very patient and was always willing to spark and encourage ideas. What's great about this is their open studio time where you can come in and work on your pieces during the open session where an instructor will be there to help. Apparently there was another student in class who went to the Bothell pottery class and their charged her an arm and a leg just for extra clay and firing... This is definitely a place worth coming!

It has been wonderful to see the contribution of this organization's efforts in nurturing a growing arts community in Maple Valley. They started with Art Festival as a part of the community's Maple Valley Days and have expanded into supporting many local performing arts groups from the Youth Symphony to MV Big Band to the creation and production of new plays and creative writing. Every month at their center - The Leaf, they have a new visual arts exhibit with an opening night reception where you can meet the artist, Open Mic which brings so many amazingly talented performers together for a very fun evening, artist critique groups, Third Word where writers share their stories and various classes . This is a wonderful community treasure, not only because of its broad support of the arts, but it brings our community together through their events, programs and projects. The selection was very interesting. The glass is all locally produced right there in their own hot shop. There were some very creative pieces. The most creative pieces were the most expensive, however there were plenty of pieces that were not too expensive. Robin the owner was fabulous and explained how my art piece was made. Since the hot shop is adjacent to the gallery, you can watch the artists make the glass art. It is very interesting and there are some beautiful pieces.

Overall, the beginner's experimental class I took was a fun way to explore colors (in the safety of a patient instructor). The desks with paint splatter gave the place a welcoming vibe. It was definitely a stress-free environment. If I have another opportunity to take an art class, I would definitely come back to The Miller School of Art. It was a sweet way to spend an hour and a half crafting with his papa and grandmother. The studio is spacious and clean and they had wheels as well at the front along with offering unfinished pottery for those that wish to paint (loved the beer steins with bears).
