There's a bit of something for everyone here. Recently, we engaged Laura's help in curating and sourcing larger scale art for our new home. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. Laura devoted countless hours to us and the process of discovering/exploring our tastes and preferences. She was the perfect guide, immensely helpful, but never overbearing. She has a penchant for and a great working relationship with many local artists and galleries. That said, she was also able to help us secure a mix of work from the PNW and the East Coast. What's more, Zinc also features handmade furniture by her husband Jesse. These pieces are amazing. We ended up commissioning a rather large custom dining table. The ingenuity and craftsmanship was better than we could have hoped for. We are so happy with our journey and the final products. Both Laura and Jesse are fabulous and could not come with higher recommendations!

Right from the start, the front desk staff was super warm and welcoming, giving us a breakdown of current exhibits and special events. ​While it's just two levels, it's packed with interesting pieces. One of the best parts is that it operates as a non-profit and takes zero commission from the creators, meaning all the artwork is for sale to support the artists directly. They had a variety of different pieces so that there is something for everyone. ​The museum was created by one of the original co-founders of Adult FriendFinder. The lower level displays his personal artwork and details his journey toward finding meaning through art. Overall, it was a memorable visit, and I'd recommend it to anyone with an appreciation for art!

This year, their summer art events are "Art of the Garden" at the main gallery and "Cambium Layers II" at the mezzanine gallery. They have events throughout the year, rotating in special exhibits, classes, summer camps, and more. I chatted with the staff working there, and they are always very personable. While the Fresh Paint art festival is relatively modest with the length of two city blocks, the exhibit inside the center makes the drive worthwhile. If I was more of an art creator, I would definitely look into their classes. They have an impressive array from ceramics and clay to digital to glass, and classics like painting, sculpture, and woodcarving. The facility looks new and is very clean. I would recommend them both to shop for art (at front gift shop or during an exhibit period) and for their classes.

We really liked his style but the color scheme wasn't what we wanted. Eric was approachable, friendly, and very helpful. After telling him what we were looking for, he texted the artist and sent us pictures later that night of additional work that the artist had in his Utah studio. We really liked them and Eric arranged to have them framed and shipped to Seattle so we could see in person. The pictures were there and we ended up falling in love with two of then. We bought one on the spot. We couldn't be happier with the work and we really appreciated Eric's demeanor through the process. We have never bought "real art" before and Eric made it stress free and fun. He was super helpful and will definitely go back to his gallery next time we want some artwork.

After 40 years, the original owners sold the gallery a few months ago (summer 2018)…read more This used to be one of my favorite galleries in Seattle with truly unique pieces from diverse artists. I would have loved to own any piece on display, but the new owners are taking the place in a different direction. Yes, you can still find the iconic bronze Georgia Gerber sculptures and kinetic works from Andrew Carson (who doesn't love them!), but the remaining items are nothing near the quality that the original owners kept on-hand. Lackluster, run-of-the-mill landscape paintings and overpriced wood boxes (the quality of which are surprisingly low in comparison to so many others on the market) now take up space where truly unique pieces used to be displayed. The lovely salesperson I spoke to said they are discontinuing several of the artists I specifically would go there to view. As someone who actively tries to find value in all forms of art, I'm really, really disappointed. Gallery Mack was once a rare gem. Maybe this is just a time of growing pains for the new owners while they figure out the direction they want to go in; I hope so!

They have a fantastic selection of beautiful, locally made cards, as well as other gift items like mugs, home decor, and art. Like a mini-Etsy on Bainbridge Island!…read more I was showing some out-of-town guests around because they wanted to ride the ferry, and expected to see the usual assortment of overpriced and cutesy gift shoppes. Indie Banditas is tucked away from the street, but it's worth hunting down. The shop is small, but crammed full of jewelry, bags, beauty products, handmade art, and other trinkets. And, impressively, everything is handcrafted by locals, so you're not just taking home any old souvenir. Everything is pretty affordable, and there are plenty of small treasures for under $10 - I got a solid lemongrass-ginger perfume and a lavender-vanilla lip balm for $3 each. The owner is super-friendly and chatty and loves to talk about her wares and the store. Customers are encouraged to sign the cement floor with a Sharpie marker, and many people already have. If you're on Bainbridge for the day, this is a must-see little boutique that will impress even your fanciest big-city visitors.

Found a good deal on the large plush swan, and I'm SO happy to have her in my home! The wrapping paper is $3.95 each, or 3 for 10, which is pretty sweet. They have an amazing selection too. Happy to come back for the holidays to splurge on gifts for friends!

Shopping in Burien, Washington…read more.. My high school classmate showed me this cute shop. We walked over after having lunch nearby where street parking was free. Paper Delights was a delight! There were many cute things and practical stationery items. I got some bunny greeting cards since I knew that they would fit in my carry-on luggage. I enjoyed looking at the bunny plushies, beautiful jewelry and all kinds of cool gift items! We'll be back, especiallysince servicewas friendly and helpful!
