Martin Travel Services helped Rod and Gun Resources of Kerrville, Tx to arranged a recent trip to…read moreBolivia. Martin arranged the flights which was done well. Their real value came when my southbound flight was cancelled by Hurricane Harvey the day before departure. While I was in Bolivia with limited email and no cell phone service, my northbound flight was cancelled by Hurricane Irma two days before departure. Martin Travel reacted professionally and quickly to find two separate replacement flights. I would work with Martin Travel Services again.

My wife and her family organized a reunion in Jamaica for their family. Family members from various…read moreparts of the US, Canada, Jamaica, and England participated. We worked with Ms. Karen Schmier at Martin Travel Services in Lauderhill, FL to book travel and rooms at the Hotel Riu in Ocho Ríos, Jamaica. She reserved 13 rooms for 33 people. The reunion was from 7/29/2015 to 8/5/2015. However, several family members extended their reservations. Three rooms were extended to 8/9 for a total of 11 nights. However, Ms. Schmier made the reservations for only 10 nights. The confirmation indicated the correct dates of 7/29 to 8/9, but listed only 10 nights. The two are clearly inconsistent. The reservation should have been for 7/29 to 8/9 and 11 nights. Those with the error discovered it at check in. When asked about the issue, Ms. Schmier became confrontational and would only say that the individuals had only paid for 10 nights. She failed to address the fact that the confirmation also listed the correct dates. She also failed to address the fact that she made transfer arrangements for the same folks to depart on the correct date, 8/9. She would not help us correct her error and arrange for the additional day. Most reputable organizations would have at least owned up to the mistake and maybe even compensated customers in some way for a clear error on their part. However, everyone was prepared to pay for the additional day. No one asked for anything for free. Unfortunately, Ms. Schmier and her management were not interested in helping. They remained very defensive. We were on our own to find additional lodging for those 6 individuals and adjust airport transportation accordingly. All the coordination, phone calls, and emails got us off to a bad start and detracted from enjoying the reunion and the resort. I noted earlier that 33 rooms were booked. It would have been even more, but some family members found Ms. Schmier attitude to be off putting and unhelpful during the reservation process. One of which is a prominent executive in the travel industry. Ms. Schmier seemed to be overwhelmed by the process and was not able to manage a transaction of this size. Overall, I would never recommend Ms. Schmier or Martin Travel Services to anyone.

I took a five-day cruise on Margaritaville at Sea Paradise to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday,…read moreand overall, we had a really good time! The price was reasonable, the food was great, and there was plenty to enjoy throughout the cruise. The buffet in particular was better than I expected and had a nice variety of options. We opted to eat at the steakhouse a few times, as well as the sushi restaurant. We were happy that these options were available. There were a few hiccups. Margaritaville now charges purchases to your account throughout the cruise instead of waiting until the last day, and we had some issues with making payments on the account. My girlfriend's suitcase was also damaged during the cruise, which was frustrating. We also had a period where the air conditioning in our room wasn't working properly, and the room became extremely hot. Despite those issues, they didn't ruin the overall experience. We had a good time celebrating, and for the price, I think it's a solid cruise option. I'd definitely sail with Margaritaville at Sea again, I just want to try out some of their other ships next time!

I've been on the Paradise ship out of West Palm Beach 3 times but this is my first review. First…read moreoff, this is a smaller budget friendly ship. If you're looking for a Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, or princess experience, this is not for you. It's an older ship but you can tell they've tried to make upgrades where possible. Give this ship a try! But go in knowing what it is and what it isn't!!! The Paradise is great for a cheap getaway. It's no frills but still nice for the price. They offer a lot of deals and specials for veterans, repeat customers, and casino players. The crew is amazing. Very hard working and friendly. Never saw anyone without a smile on their face. I booked a grand suite and it was very nice. Yes, it's showing its age but I'm more concerned about cleanliness. My cabin steward, Paul, did an excellent job. Loved the towel animals. It had a balcony but it's old so the wall is high. You can't see over the ledge if laying down on the sun lounger. It's a big balcony. My only complaint is it's not covered. I was out during the sail away party and the people in the pool deck were hanging their drinks over the railing. I was nervous someone could throw something and land on the me or the balcony. The suite has a separate living room and bedroom. Very nice size! The bathroom is big for a cruise ship - jacuzzi tub and stand up shower. The food isn't bad. I went to JWB Steakhouse one night. It's an extra fee to eat here. I don't think it's necessarily worth it but you get a lot of food. I ordered the ribeye. I like my steak rare and the meat cut is too thin to get it rare to my liking. The seasoning was good. You get an appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. The shrimp cocktail was good. I absolutely loved the onion soup. Steak was just ok. And I was too full for dessert. The buffet has a lot of good choices. I wish Cheeseburger in Paradise offered a turkey burger. Some things on the buffet are better than others. The reubens at the sandwich station are awesome. I got one with turkey and it was also delicious. Fins, the main dining room, is hit or miss for me. They post the nightly menus outside of the restaurant so you can pick and choose what nights you want to go by the choices. They don't switch up the menus so if you got often it's the same thing. The standouts for me were the hearts of palm appetizer and the curry shrimp entree. The mushroom rotini wasn't bad either. The sauce was thin. I thought the key lime sponge cake dessert was too sweet. Crazy sweet. Disembarkation was a cluster you know what as usual. Not a lot of direction - especially when people don't follow the order to get off! Suites are supposed to get priority after ADA but so many people clog the elevators and hallways. But you can technically be off the ship and in your car by 8:30/9 if all goes well. The casino has a decent variety of slots and tables. Free drinks while gambling but the servers tend to favor the tables. If you have the drink package, it's a quick walk to the bar to get your own. I had to do that several times. On each sailing, they have a veteran's ceremony. They recognize all the veterans on board and the cruise director speaks. It's very nice and one of the things that sets this ship apart from others. I know I'm missing stuff but my review is long enough!!!
