We wanted someone exceptionally skilled who could serve a high quality mixed drink, but also do so quickly for a large number of guests (over 200 of them). Michelle fit the bill! Michelle provided clear advice on what to alcohol purchase, the quantity, tips to have a good party (e.g buying plenty of ice, pre-batching the drinks, hiring enough staff), and importantly designed a pair of custom craft cocktails for our party that were an absolute hit with our guests. Long before the wedding, he helped us plan the logistics--understand the scheduling needs, identify our photography goals, and ultimately give us great advice before we had signed a contract. On the day of, he coordinated with the DJ, wedding planner, and our volunteers (read: friends) to make sure that things went smoothly, changed when needed, and kept it fun for us. Many months later, he helped make sure my family got the prints they wanted, even fixing an error that wasn't his problem. A+ for wedding-specific needs. 2) What you probably want to know: He gave us tons of great photos that met all the goals in a variety of settings: the group shots for the family members; both silly and serious couples shots; the venue shots that still coming in handy for stationary needs (anniversary cards, etc.). Also important, he helped coach people for posing and positioning in a warm and knowledgeable way--people felt much more comfortable. A+ for photos. 3) Cost real talk: We worked hard to make our wedding affordable and debated long about how to choose a photographer--one of the largest expenses. JP is highly technical photographer that produced work that felt like shots from photographers far outside our price range. We recommend him to friends and coworkers for their events. Just hire JP.

JP Lor shot my wedding at San Francisco City Hall, and he was perfect…read more Before the wedding he did his due diligence and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted---we really felt listened to. On the day of the wedding, when nothing could go wrong, JP was the reason that nothing did go wrong. When things changed, like when a location we were planning on shooting some photos became unexpectedly unavailable, he was calm and collected and immediately had a back up plan. He made sure we had all the photos we wanted (and some we didn't even know we wanted), and he even helped keep us on schedule for the wedding itself. At the same time, I never felt rushed or pressured by him---he always let us set the pace. He felt like a real partner through the whole process. After the wedding, we ordered a photo album from JP to commemorate the day. He was the one who did designed the whole thing and put it together, and it is beautiful and perfect and we cherish it. Sharing my intial experience after I came to pick up my items, just to find out that no one is in…read morethe office and my items aren't ready for pickup either. Just one week ago I had made a reservation for glassware for a small event. I chose Celebrations due to their quick response time as well as their pricing structure. I was also happy to pick up the items knowing that I would save $150 on the delivery fee. I was informed via email that I could pick up on Thursday or Friday between 9am to 2pm, so I drove about 25 minutes to Novato today (Thursday) and arrived around 9:30am. Upon arrival, I noticed the door states "by appointment only". I'm a little caught off guard because this was never stated to me, but I thought maybe it didn't pertain to me since the email communication I had received the week prior stated that I could pick up today. I called the number on the door, and Kim stated that my order was not ready and that she was not in the office today either. I would have to come back again tomorrow to pick up the items, and that they would be ready anytime between 9am-2pm. Kim seemed irritated on the phone, but I'm the customer who was told I could pick up today. She did say she could deliver tomorrow, but I'm not trying to spend $150. I wasn't upset or yelling, just asking for clarification about when I could pick up the items. Maybe she's dealing with something outside of work, but bringing that to me was uncalled for when I was only following the pickup instructions she provided me. Anyway, just wanted to share my intial impression after their misstatement about the pickup window. Hoping for a smooth pickup tomorrow!

Recently, a close friend of mine was looking for a wedding venue, and I immediately recommended ERIA. They ended up having their ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, followed by their after party at ERIA's new Marina location. It was such a fun way to celebrate because after the reception we walked over to Bar Darling, and the catering came from Little Original Joe's. The whole evening really embraced the city, and it felt like guests got to experience San Francisco rather than just attend a wedding. The team also added so many thoughtful touches that made the night feel special. They had cookies from the upcoming La Boulange Bakery pop up as a late night treat, which everyone loved, and they even arranged for a photo booth that was a huge hit. My friends couldn't stop talking about how well everything came together, and I was secretly thrilled that my recommendation worked out so well. The next morning we headed to Sausalito for brunch at Cultivar, which was fantastic and somewhere I hadn't been before. From there we made our way to ERIA's waterfront venue, which is just as stunning as ever. They projected home videos onto a screen overlooking the water, everyone gathered with sparklers, and the whole evening felt incredibly intimate and memorable. It was such a beautiful contrast to the energy of the city the night before. One of the things I loved most about the weekend was getting to experience both locations. The Marina gave us the excitement and nightlife of San Francisco, while Sausalito offered the peaceful waterfront setting that made the celebration feel completely different. Having both experiences in one wedding weekend made it feel incredibly unique. I've been to ERIA many times now, and every event somehow feels different while maintaining the same high level of hospitality and attention to detail. The panoramic views are stunning, and the location--right in the heart of Sausalito--is pretty much perfect. The dance floor was comfortable, the vibe was there, and it felt like it had all the makings of a great event. But here's the ik...... and it's the reason for the 2-star rating. The bathroom situation was beyond unacceptable. We're talking extremely small (only 2 stalls for the women), poorly equipped for the size of the crowd, and within 30 minutes of the event starting, the toilets were already breaking down. Not "a little slow"--completely failing. For an event with 60+ women (and drinks being served for FIVE hours), we were left with essentially ONE working toilet. Diabolical. Uncomfortable. Irritating. And it didn't get better--it got worse. Halfway through the event, the second toilet started to overflow. Yes, overflow. It was nasty, and there was no real resolution or sense of urgency from the venue to fix it. Just... left to deal with it. So while the space is undeniably pretty and well-situated, it is absolutely not equipped to handle a crowd of 125+ people. Not even close. A venue can look amazing, but if basic necessities like functioning restrooms aren't handled--and can't be remedied in real time--it completely takes away from the experience. Beautiful space, but not a place I'd trust for an event of that size again.

Shannon is amazing. This was the fourth time she's photographed my family, and somehow her photos…read morejust keep getting better. Every session with her leaves us with images that end up in frames all over our house-- they're my favorites. She has such a gift for capturing moments that feel both beautiful and real. Nothing ever looks forced or staged-- instead, she finds those natural, joyful expressions and connections that really feel like us. Her color photos are so vibrant and full of life, while her black-and-white images feel timeless and emotional. What I especially love is that Shannon has been great for us at every age. She managed to get gorgeous photos even when my kids were 2 and 3 (and totally wild)-- and now that they're 11 and 12 and on the edge of being grumpy teens who hate posing for photos, she still manages to get amazing shots. Shannon captures wonderful group photos but also makes time for individual portraits of each of my girls, which I treasure-- and which always make holiday cards (and grandparent gifts) easy. On top of her artistry, Shannon knows all the magical spots in Marin with transformative backgrounds and can tell you the exact time to be there for perfect lighting. She's a true pro.
